I worked in a UK nightclub in the 90's and this really brings back memories. I even helped load the truck with Snap's gear after they performed there. We had a lot of 90's groups perform and I always had the job of looking after them. I was head barman.

Everytime We Touch by Cascada was a mid-2000s cover of a 90s song by Maggie Reilly. They sang Cascada's version with the verse from her song, which was the more popular one that everyone knows. So technically the verse is 2000s, the chorus is 90s & 2000s?

I am a boomer, my music is 60's, 70's (doo wop, Motown) and a lot of country sprinkled in. LOL My daughter and son are 80's and 90's brats. I do recognize some of those 90's songs. LOL I hope one day they will do a 60's and 70's medley for this old folk.

I don’t know if you still read comments from old reactions but if you do…I really enjoyed your reaction to this. I have Daughters your age so I listened to some of this. I however, was listening to country at the time, really can’t stand it anymore. I’m into Disturbed now, Ironically. Anyway I used to line dance at the “Borderline” in Thousand Oaks when it first opened. In case that doesn’t sound familiar. There was a mass shooting there in 2018. The day before my birthday. I don’t really know why I’m writing this, maybe because the anniversary is coming up, as is my birthday. In case you do read this, Thank you for brightening my day.

I'm also an 80s baby and was a teenager in the 90s. Such nostalgia. I did the Roxbury dance in the car and my daughter, 13, was cracking up. We also had a lightswitch rave to Everytime We Touch that I may or may not have instigated 😂

To be fair, PTX snuck one by most of us. That Cascada song you got confused about was from 2006. It still hits, and fits, but they snuck it in despite being a little late for its party.

Nevermind, I did a little more digging and found it under “Everytime We Touch,” the Maggie Riley version from 1992. However, PTX listed their version as Everytime We Touch - Cascada in the description of that video. So they themselves credited the 2006 version, and my original comment is still correct. It is a 90s song, but it was better in 2006, so it still hits, and fits, but they snuck it in despite being a little late for its party ;p

You mentioned Nirvana, and I would absolutely love to hear them sing Smells Like Teenspirit. Lol I'd also love to here them cover MCR, Blink 182, Linkin Park, April Lavigne; I think they'd be a lot of fun. They have done a rock song, they did Born To Be Wild when they were on The Sing-Off when they just started out (so Scott, Mitch & Kirstie were 19 years old lol) and it was awesome.

I find it interesting that they didn't include a single one of the songs that I associate with the nineties. Granted, I'm a bit older; but I expected a 90s medley to have songs like Too Legit To Quit, Don't Go Chasin' Waterfalls, Let It Linger, and, if we were especially unfortunate, perhaps something by Lou Bega (whose songs are all so similar, that it literally makes no difference which one you do). I honestly can't say I'm even slightly disappointed to be wrong, though. Those songs I expected them to include, are all terrible. Except maybe In The Middle of the Night (I Go Walking in my Sleep), that one was ok-ish, if a bit weird. Was I'm Blue Dabba Dee Dabba Die really in the nineties? I could've sworn my youngest sister was obsessed with that one as a young adult with a job (and she didn't graduate high school until 2002). Maybe she was just behind the times, I guess.

To be fair, some of the songs were released in 1999, but were hits in 2000. "Every Time We Touch" is a slight cheat as it was released by Cascada in 2005, but that verses were a remake from a song released in the 90's.

Great reaction just remember Scott was born in 1991 and Mitch a year later in 1992 and Kirstin graduated same year as Scott. Mitch was a year behind and he missed his High School Graduation due to NBC's the "Sing-off" competition but 10 years later they have each solidified their entertainment value.

Yes, the original versions of all the songs first came out in the 90s - with a couple of asterisks. "Everytime We Touch" by Cascada came out in the 2000s but the original by Maggie Reilly was released in 1992. However, that rendition was slow and did not have a dance beat. "Around The World (La La La La)" by A Touch Of Class was released in 2000 but it's actually a cover of the Russian original "Pesenka (La La La)".
