Jeff Burlingame definitely would not recommend an xc bike for these... an enduro bike would probably be ok, that’s what I’m on - yeti sb140 (140 rear, 160 front travel) - Jeff is on a Reeb cycles squeeb, I believe - dh bike is definitely the most forgiving choice to start out on
