If you liked this video I highly recommend watching a tribute they did for their younger brother Andy, Andy died of an overdose and even though on occasions he did sing with his older brothers, he was a solo artist , kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y4mugYhngq10ibcsi=EEE-ER37U0PQgAmA

Hiya! If you liked this song, then may I suggest watching a tribute song they made for their younger brother Andy Gibb who passed away. It's called "our love " don't throw it all away on love. The bee gees are not Australian they are British, but they hold an Australian citizenship. I think it's best to actually go into the site to see all about them.

Mike and Jess, the Bee Gees wrote 1,030 songs, so the chances of you knowing many of them are a lot greater than you think! The tallest one is the eldest brother, Barry, the other two are twins, Robin with the vibrato voice and Maurice whose deeper vocals also added to the brothers’ range of harmonies. Only Barry is still living, he’s 78 and exactly four years older than me, to the day! 😍 Their little brother, Andy, died in 1988 at just 30, of myocarditis, an inflammation of the heart muscle most likely caused by a virus.

Born on the Isle of Man to English parents, the Gibb brothers lived in Chorlton, Manchester, England, until the late 1950s. There, in 1955, they formed the skiffle/rock and roll group the Rattlesnakes. The family then moved to Redcliffe, in the Moreton Bay Region, Queensland, Australia, and later to Cribb Island. After achieving their first chart successes in Australia as the Bee Gees, they returned to the UK in January 1967, when producer Robert Stigwood began promoting them to a worldwide audience. The Bee Gees' Saturday Night Fever soundtrack (1977) was the turning point of their career, with both the film and soundtrack having a cultural impact throughout the world, enhancing the disco scene's mainstream appeal. They won five Grammy Awards for Saturday Night Fever, including Album of the Year.

Also, Barry and two other men produced Diana Ross' album 'Eaten Alive.' Maurice and Robin contributed to the lyrics for most of the songs. Andy contributed to the lyrics for one song. Michael Jackson contributed to the album also as writer and producer. Barbra Streisand's 'Guilty' song. The brothers are the lyrists for that song. I didn't know this, but Barry, Albhy Galuten, and Karl Richardson teamed up to form their own production group.
@kthor
@kthor Ай бұрын
Barry wrote the theme song for Grease, in under 2 hours while watching their kids! Barry's also the primary writer & producer of Diana Ross's album Eaten Alive, along with co-writing by his brothers & MJ. He was also the primary writer & producer on Guilty, Heartbreaker, & Eyes That See in the Dark, as well as sang backing on almost every track, plus his 2 duets with Streisand. In fact, when an album for Barbra was first mentioned, she only wanted to work with Barry. Stigwood's the one who said the twins should be included on writing some songs. And that's basically how it was for other artists they worked with, as Barry's the one they really wanted! He's now the second most successful songwriter & producer in music history, after Paul McCartney & George Martin.

@@Totemking - Born on the Isle of Man, TK - then moved to Manchester, which is where Barry, or maybe the 3 of them first began singing in a few pubs . . . then their parents moved / emigrated over to Redcliffe, Oz (I think as £10 pons?) - They began to sing together more there, Barry writing songs, doing talent shows, and then radio and tv . . . However, later, the boys and the band they now had went back to the UK where they had more of a chance with their hopes of breaking into a larger music audience along with all of their song writing talents now . . . After that, it was off to the US hoping to gain a better following there, too, so they lived in Miami for a while as they did that . . . And although also having homes in the UK, I think Barry later headed back to Oz, Maurice went to live in the US, and Robin stayed in the UK. -- I'm sure Maurice was cremated/buried in the US & Robin was buried in the UK very near his home in his local churchyard. Andy, was possibly in the US as well, as he was living there at the time of his death? --- It's been quite a while, but I could still be perhaps right on most of those details . . .???

You have just fallen down the best rabbit hole you could find. The Bee Gees started singing together when they were kids. Barry ( in the middle ) was 9 years old and Robin ( on the left ) and Mourice (on the right ) who are twins were 6 years old. They became famous in the U. S. In the 60's they write all their own music even though they can't read music. They have also written songs for other artist such as Barbra Strisand, Diana Ross, Dion Warwick, Dolly Parton, Kenny Rodgers, Celine Dion and others. They have been around making music for over 5 decades. Sadly Mourice passed away in 2003 .and Robin passed away in 2012. Barry is the only Bee Gee brother left. They also had a younger brother who was also a famous singer ( solo ) . But he passed away at 30 years of age If you want to see how versatile their voices can be check out the song Nights On Broadway on the Midnight Special show. And their songs from the 60:s. They have so many good songs even passed the Disco era. Like For Whom The Beel Tolls, or You Win Again, or Alone, or Man In The Middle . There is so many more, to many to mention. But you will not be sorry. ENJOY!? ❤❤❤

The article you looked at showed the origin as Australia, probably because they launched the Bee Gees band while still living there. They are British, although Barry now has dual British and US citizenship. They came back to the UK so that they could take their success to the next level. The most important thing is that people show them some love for the incredible songs that they gave us.

Can you believe the Bee Gees have been around for 7 decades since the late 1950's. They have written songs for the likes of Barbara Streisand & Niel Diamond. They won 5 Grammys for Saturday Night Fever in the 70's. They were born on the Isle of Man UK before the family moved to Australia.

They were actually English, but they moved to Australia as children. Barry, Maurice and Robin Gibb. Maurice and Robin are twins, they had a younger brother called Andy, who had a solo singing career. He was just about to join his brothers but tragically died of an undiagnosed heart condition! I love your channel! ❤❤

They were born on the Isle of Man in England, and moved to Australia when they were young. Barry, 1946, Robin, left, and Maurice (pronounced Morris), fraternal twins, 1949. The first song they used the high falsettos in was 'Nights On Broadway', also from the Saturday Night Fever soundtrack, but Barry comes in low and powerful! Check out the live version on the Midnight Special TV show, you can see Barry on the guitar and Maurice setting the tone for Disco bass in STONE! I bought the Rickenbacker 4001 in my photo just because he played one like it in 'Jive Talkin'...😄

They were not Australian, they spent some time there as children, but they were born on the Isle of Man and are British. They have English accents

They spent their teenage years in Australia and but for their musical success they would probably have lived their whole lives there. they returned to the UK for 8 years then moved to the US and Barry Gibb now lives in Brisbane.

@@davidhuett3579 well considering Barry Gibb was only 12 and the twins were only 9 it isn't really surprising they were unknowns when they moved to Australia is it? They moved back to the UK in 1967 because their careers had stalled in Australia. What are you on about with ABBA they were already big in Europe before they became a craze in Australia.

So glad more younger people are discovering this amazing group. Barry Alan Crompton Gibb, the lead in the middle, was the leader (they do have an older sister, Leslie, who isn't in the business) and fraternal twin brothers Robin (the clean-shaven one on the left) and Maurice, pronounced Morris (bearded on the right). They also had a little brother, Andy, who was about 12 years younger than Barry and 9 years younger than the twins, who also had a solo career for a while, but sadly died just 5 days after his 30th birthday in 1988. Maurice left us in 2003, I believe, when he went in for abdominal surgery and coded on the table. And Robin left us in 2012, when he had the same issue as Maurice, and when they operated, they found liver cancer. Barry's the last one left, though he recently at least semi retired. But the Bee Gees rabbit hole is DEEP. You MUST check out Lonely days (search for a live tv appearance, NOT the official video. The tempo drags for some reason on that one), To Love Somebody, and Nights on Broadway are a good sampling of their earlier work.

The Bee Gees are 3 brothers who were born on the Isle of Man (a protectorate of the UK) who then moved to Manchester in the UK. They then emigrated to Australia before coming back to the UK and then moving to the USA. Barry is the one in the middle and the twins either side are Robin (no beard) & Maurice (beard). Barry is the only one still alive. They also had a younger brother who was a solo artist and died at a young age. They had loads of hits over many decades and genres. They also wrote for other famous singers like Barbra Streisand, Dolly Parton etc.

The sheer perfection of every person in the room to record this in one shot is amazing. The reason the Bee Gees harmony will never be replicated is 2 fold, first they are brothers but then it gets better. The 2 outer brothers are TWINS which makes the vocal sounds even more alike, Put both these things together and you get this magical sound that no one else can replicate and THEN, they all can sing in Bee Gee's falsetto. That is what made them one of the most famous recording and writing groups of all time.

One shot? No. This was a UNCICEF promo. The audio you're hearing is from the Spirits Having Flown LP. Also Barry and Robin sing closer to each other (normal voices) than Robin & Maurice.

@@josephklimchock5412 Again, the audi that you're hearing is from the Spirits Having Flown LP. When I say they are lip-syncing, maybe I should rephrase to... Whatever they are singing in the video, it is not what is in the audio. From Wiki: The recording process was the longest of all the tracks on Spirits Having Flown as there are nine layers of three-part harmony, creating 27 voices, though the high falsetto voices are the most pronounced in the final mix: Barry on falsetto lead three times falsetto high harmony three times falsetto low harmony three times Barry on natural voice lead three times high harmony three times low harmony three times Barry, Robin and Maurice together on lead three times high harmony three times low harmony three times Impossible for them to be creating that complexity with what you see in the video.

Robin’s voice was always been my favourite. Plus I like his looks better. That aside. They had a different style in the 60’s and early70’s, then disco, then in the 90’s another style. Alone is my favourite from the 90’s, when Robin does his solo I melt. I really enjoy their music from the 60’s and early 70’s, more Robin. They are British, lived in Australia for a number of years, returned to England
