My first full year of being a flyers fan was the 2000 playoff run when they lost to the devils after being up 3 games to 1. That run had such high highs and low lows it hooked me to the flyers for life.

after numerous hot and cold streaks leading into it, the wings tying the canadiens forcing ot on their last game of the season after coming from behind to win in ot the previous game with the final wild card spot on the line, only to learn the capitals beat the flyers to clinch the final spot via tiebreaker even if detroit earned the extra point. all that effort for nothing

Just my opinion but most should not be used, if the team won a Cup in the last 5 years or so. Why? Because losing compounds and the longer it goes on should be taken in to consideration. Like the 86 Red Sox, or 2011 Canucks. The 99 Sabres.. I just don't feel like any defeat like this can be seen in a vacuum. Imho

Meh, it's a bad loss with those two goals, but not among "the most heartbreaking." 1999 Buffalo to Dallas on Brett Hull in the paint (I know Buffalo, the bleeding hasn't stopped) 2010 Bruins game 7 loss to the Flyers (after being up 3-0 in the series...that's gotta hurt) 2011 Wings loss to the Sharks after forcing game 7 or 1942 loss to Toronto after 3-0 series (80 years later and it still hurts) lead OR 2024 winning final game only to be eliminated by Philly pulling their goalie with 5 minutes left and watching Kane score that shootout goal and nobody even celebrate (Wings have a lot of heartbreak) 2013 Leafs loss to Bruins in game 7 - or pretty much every year for the past 10 years...or 50 for that matter...sorry Leaf fans...at least you have Steve Dangle for catharsis, eh? 1993 Penguins loss to Islanders in game 7 OT 1994 Devils to Rangers in game 7 is probably worst than this as well (30-year-old wound that that will not heal...not so happy anniversary N.J.) 2024 Oilers to the Panthers after climbing out of a 0-3 hole 2011 Canucks to Bruins in SCF game 7 (man 2011 was a sad year for so many teams) 2012 Rangers to Kings in 2OT SCF Game 7 (sorry to bring that up Ranger fans...I know it still hurts) Anyhow, stop with "the most" for something that occurs pretty often and might not even be the most heartbreaking to Devils' fans in the first place.
