Billy was killed off because the actor Taye Diggs wanted to leave the show for personal reasons. Even though the show isn’t the same without him, it was the actors choice to leave. Also SPOILERRRS PAST THIS POINT, For season 7, Daniel Ezra that plays Spencer James will not be returning in season 7 as a series regular but will make guest appearances

Billy was like the pops we never had fr, it was more than getting Spencer and Jordan to college and the NFL it was about being a good parent and learning from his mistakes he made many years ago, when Billy and Cory died I cried and ion even cry like that but what makes it sad for me was the fact that I related to Spencer and been through some of the things he’s been through
