Illinois Football Fan here (Great game the other night, meant with all due respect): From everything I have seen, Nebraska has faced the essential inverse timeline of Alabama since the turn of the century, an irony only furthered by the fact they're the states with the 2 highest college football fan densities. In one case, a program facing an uncharacteristic lull finds and hires a new head coach who revitalizes the program and turns them into one of the greatest dynasties in college football history. On the other: a program used to success and vitality finds itself falling pack into the pack, yet still willing and trying to do everything in its power to get back to a state of true glory, only to find seemingly endless amounts of pain and torment despite an unwillingness to give up. 2021 seemed to be the awful cherry on top of that plot point. Truly, best wishes to y'alls program. As someone who similarly has hope in a football team that feels as though is making me hold my breath waiting for the next disaster, I understand your torment. Here's to the Big 10, especially those schools whose fans have been lying in wait for decades now for the season that seriously goes down in history!!! (For the right reasons this time)

I’m a student at Nebraska and was for our 2021 season. I thought this was common knowledge but the reason we wanted Frost out so bad was because on top of the way he admitted to treating the players and losing, he reportedly would also show up to practice drunk or be so drunk he wouldn’t make it to practice at all. He was also known to cheat on his wife with female students at Nebraska and in general be a scumbag. I hated reliving that god awful season but you made it bearable, good job 👍
@thejoshpresle3 ай бұрын
He was a scumbag in college too. Lawrence Phillips beat up his girlfriend while Frost hid in a closet because she was fuckin Scott. Phillips is obviously responsible for his own actions, but you don't fuck your teammates woman.
@Huckleberry523 ай бұрын
I’ve always heard this but never seen anyone show any proof at all. Like have any players that have played for him talked about this? Have the female students come out about it? Was he ever arrested for alcohol abuse in any way shape or form? I’m not saying it’s not true… but how come there’s absolutely no evidence? (I’d gladly accept it and would believe it if there was some)

Dylan has brought so many good recruits we are also getting Dylan’s little brother next year who is also a QB, best recruit out of Nebraska TE, and the best recruit in Hawaii Center. We got them over Georgia, Alabama, and Auburn. They are clearly doing something right. I never got to see Nebraska National Championship good as I was born in 2001 but my dad uncles and grandpa went to all of those games and remind me of that era almost weekly. This season pushed me to the fucking brink. I try and tell people there is no other season like it. And yet we still keep finding ways to lose. As of losing to Illinois in 2024, Nebraska has done the following: -Lost 25 straight ranked games -lost 22 straight games where they were down 1 score or tied with 8 or less minutes left in the 4th quarter -are 3-22 in their last 25 1 score games -have lost 8 straight overtime games where they have failed to score OR PICK UP A FIRST DOWN in any of them. 27 total offensive plays, -20 total yards, 0 first downs, 0 points, 4 interceptions. A legendary streak of futility. Being a fan of this team is genuine torture.

Nebraska has sign after sign we will be better. We play better and still lose. It's insane. The Illinois loss under Rhule really just showed the culture of losing is still here.
@themike97_583 ай бұрын
rhule is on the right track. his whole philsophy of winning in the trenches is the right way. Illinois is a good team, much better than last season. We're still learning how to win again. We'll have a couple great years with Dylan and the way Rhule recruits, we should be getting better and better every season. I'm optimistic from what I've seen so far. and tbh, losing the Illinois this early was probably a good thing. Give us a lot of tape to learn from and get better as the season continues.

Scott frost was and still is one of the most ever rated kids that ever attended NU. Larry, his father, became infuriated with Nebraska because his whole coaching life revolved around wanting to be on that fb staff, never happened, because Nebraska did not offer his oldest son a scholarship he vowed that Scott would not go to Nebraska, thusly he went to Stanford. The Frosts wanted to prove a point. BUT he did return because of, I think, T.O. Promised to not recruit another QB that would compete for that position, remember Scott followed a legend at QB. All he had to do was hand the ball off to some very talented Arabs and run the option, which he did poorly and couldn’t really throw the ball. That 97 team would have won with a DT at QB, that is how talented that team was. Scott got lots of attention, head git bigger and he came to Lincoln thinking no matter what “they won’t fire me”. The real Scott frost showed his colors. Larry was a very close friend of mine fir a long time so this isn’t just a wild rant, I was close to the situation. It gets deeper than I wrote here but most people don’t know the real story. Not just my opinion but reality folks.

So to be clear, "all" they had to do was beat washington, the #2 team in the country, hope georgia beat bama and then after both of those games, end up as the 2 seed (because in this scenario oregon would be ranked above washington, texas, and alabama at a minimum. making either FSU, Washington, or Texas the 3 seed), have to beat that 3 seed in the first round. and only then have a shot at what wouldve been #1 undefeated georgia in the national championship game. which is somehow the most unlikely thing to actually happen in this post.
