I think Gujarat's analysis could have been a little better. No mention of their best buy: Glenn phillips. I personally think they have had one of the best auctions. Sai, Gill and Buttler as top 3. As a csk fan, I have to admit MI is the most dangerous team this year in IPL. Even if MI score 150(which they wont with such explosive batting lineup), bowlers will make it look like 200-220. Bumrah, Boult, chahar will be a menace. Only concern they have is experienced spinner and 7-8 no batter.

Rcb management did really well with buying Tim david. We really needed an aggressive finisher. If they bought will jacks then he would play at no 3 or 4 and Krunal and jitesh would have been our finishers which wouldn't be that good. Rcb really clutched up at the end. MI, SRH, GT, RCB are my top 4. MI Will be on the top. I mean, common guys let's just appreciate that they've done a great job at the auction. Anyone with proper cricketing knowledge would know they have the best XI. Even if one of the XI is on fire, it's over for the opponent. SRH, same as MI, the second best after them. But the lineup is INSANE, in both the departments. I believe them to have the second best batting line-up after MI. Why going for Venky over 23 Cr was a calculated step instead of Salty? - 1. People who are thinking Venky could have been retained itself in lesser price. Think again! In order to do so, you had to release Ramandeep/Harshit (ofcourse you ain’t thinking to let go Narine/Russell/Rinku). So Venky would have been 4th capped retention which will cost you 18cr from your bidding purse as per new rule (doesn’t matter if you pay him 5cr or 10cr internally). So you had saved 23.75-18cr= 5.75cr and the 4cr of releasing Raman/Harshit. Total saving 9.75cr. Now the question is, could you have bought Harshit/Raman back in the same price in auction where big purse teams like RCB/Punjab looking to build their entire team. Highly unlikely when likes of Natarajan went 10cr+.. 2. People who are thinking, we should have gone for Salty at 11.50cr- look, an auction cannot be judged on what price a player got sold for. Say KKR had bid 12 Cr topping RCB. Do you think RCB would have stopped bidding n let go? Hell NO! they would have bid more taking the price to 18-20 Cr. Remember they were the team bidding for Venky till 23.5cr. When they didn’t get Venky, they were definitely determined to bid big for Salty to similar or close price having huge purse left. It’s either-or case. You cannot buy 2 players (each about 20Cr mark) with a KKR-like purse value around 50+ Cr. KKR think tank knows this and they went for venky in auction ahead of Salty. So KKR fans, don’t feel sad thinking we could have bought salty at 11.5cr. It doesn’t work like that. Salt would have sold for much higher, if KKR had bid more. Lastly, KKR was a champion side.. salty n Venky both played crucial role in winning. It was highly unlikely to get them both in auction. That’s a known truth. (M a KKR fan too! Hope to see salty again sometime playing in gold n purple..

My opinion on the KKR team that should start - Quinton De Kock ✈️ ( wk ) Rahmanullah Gurbaaz ✈️ Venkatesh Iyer (C ) Ajinkya Rahane Rinku Singh Ramandeep Singh Andre Russell✈️ Sunil Narine ✈️ Vaibhav Arora Harshit Rana Varun Chakravarty NOTE - Given that QDK , Gurbaaz and Venky Iyer are some players which certainly could guarantee atleast 300-400 runs for them in a season . QDK and Gurbaaz a right - left combination of overseas powerhouse could give them that quick fire power start in powerplay ( a quick 50 + stand in no time ) replicating the brutality of Salt and Narine last season up the order . Venky could be a floater in any case and along with Rahane could help give them stability in middle overs after powerplay . Angkrish is a talented young man who will get his fair share of his games from the fixture as he is highly rated by KKR management however I am not sure if he would play all the games irrespective of the promising intent he showed last season .Rahane will get the edge for the high experience he carries on his shoulder which would be vital to help assisting Venky who could captain the squad based on the amount KKR invested on him . Rinku , Russell , Ramandeep are all good enough finishers . Narine's position could also be key however I would prefer him lower down the order to get that 5-10 ball brutal impact . As of Bowling Varun Chakravarty and Narine are good spinners . Harshit Rana will be playing majority of the games . Vaibhav Arora could be rotated for Spencer Johnson in make shift of another forgein player depending on the favourability of the track . Umran Malik and Mayank Markande will get there chances but Anrich Nortje for my opinion is a back up for Spencer given the current form and contributions in the t20 series against Pakistan at home and other leagues world-wide , I would definitely prefer Spencer for his attributes with his bowling and variation he has compared to Nortje who guarantee 150 + clicks .
