DaVinci Resolve has instrument removal and separation features, I’ve been using those while I wait for Ableton to implement that functionality. It’s not perfect and fully customizable, but it’s worked for what I’ve needed so far. Anyways good vid, always lookin forward to more WNN vids.

In my HUMBLE opinion the Roli has a fundamental flaw from a Keyboard perspective : it modulates the sounds ... by taking the hands OFF of the keys ! There are MIDI Rings that already exist and allow for the detection of hand gestures : that gives you the choice to either move your hands off the keys or on the keys.

Studio One 7 also improved the scalelock feature, now we can save custom scales and also choose to view the note used, like the "fold" button from Ableton Live, idk why they don't advertise on that feature, i think it's kinda big tbh.

studio one midi piano roll has Scaler built in now basically, you can create custom scales for scale lock them now. not just normal scales. any custom scale you make

If you want a good harmonizer plugin (not trap tune) check out their sister companie's WA Production Trivox it's legitimately good. Also untitled plugins makes cyberdrive which is very very good. I think their marking is OTT on purpose BTW. They do intro pricing like that for all of their new plugins.

As far as stem separation and isolation of different instruments-I’ve been using Moises for several years now. Wind/Guitar(acoustic/rhythm/lead all available) /Keys/Piano/Strings/drums/Bass/vocals/background vocals. I know it’s a sub but you can separate what you want and download the stems. Unsub as needed.

The Roli product is not really for me because I am not a keyboard player but I can see why others might want to use it. It is about how you want to express yourself. I do think it can be more immediate than using knobs because there is no reaching to get to that knob.

I was never really a microKorg type of guy, I toured a Korg R3 for like 10 years or something but I do feel like Korg made a lot of decent upgrades to the microKorg formula for fans of the original. Looks like a decent little board for the people that are into that kinda thing. Credit where credit is due and all that. Anywhoooooo... *EDIT* yeah the demo's were terrible until that classic Korg flying lead solo kicks in, that's where all my keyboard ninja's are gonna be like 'yeah, can't beat a Korg keyboard solo though can you' XD

You're right, it seems like this is release time for audio related companies and they're all just "OK, I guess" or less. The marketing and BS is getting really fantastic; imagine getting people to buy you poor products again and again, through marketing alone. Have you noticed the prices rising and the quality and usefulness and originality all plummeting? It's all pish. The whole world is going under the Waves standard. Are we this happy to spaff our ever decreasing income up the wall to these companies that obviously hate us? It seems like some people are, but I like to think those commenters on KZbins that are applauding and ferociously defending to the point of slavering, swivel eyed insanity and worshipping mediocrity, are really just bots and nobody is really buying any of this sh*t. ROLI thing is a the Roland D-Beam from decades ago made to look new, but is, as you say, cringe and a rehash. Who wants that big silly looking thing in their face, when they're trying to do music? UAD is another software and hardware con for lot of money with no justification, but the UAD cultists will love being sold the same software they already have again and again, that's rehashed and refaced and stuck together and sold back to them. A sea of mesmerized faces looking up at the UAD "CLAW". The new UAD Apollo's are an extremely expensive piss take and the "flagship" SHARC processors from the 17th Century that struggle to DSPerize their own plugins on an average count. Dreadful pish, but absolutely world beating marketing. PRESONUS Studio One 7 is $139 for me as an upgrade from Studio One Pro 6.6. That's another massive piss take, charging users for stuff that other DAWs have had for years, like Cubase. I'm not going to pay for this "upgrade"/ catchup. The stems AI bullshit is just as bad as all the others and really, the new features? Get outta here. ARTURIA - I bought the whole bundle about 5 years ago and the upgrades. I've played with them a bit and never once used any of their Synth's on recordings because as: A they just sound "OK, I guess", B they're so freeking expensive for a beige product range. Cherry Audio and other alternatives are way better in some instances and just as good in others and way cheaper. Arturia's FX range is pretty good, but their synths? No thanks.

I won’t be updating s1 until a link plugin parameters across grouped tracks is a feature . I only know of Cubase and pro tools for having that feature. It’s very useful and time saving for atmos mixing and mastering. Also great for linking guitar amp sims for stereo dubbed guitars .. I’m frustrated that simple feature has been overlooked for a long time.

I didn't get the MiniBrute V, either, because tbh it should have been the MiniBrute 2 architecture, but that's another synth plugin they can add to V Collection because I guess they're running out of ideas. uber cool this reminds me of the 'd wave" sensor roland has, love that thing for filters. I think topline did come included with the UAD ultimate update. I have yet to check it out as still scanning plugins, but its nice if so if this one was bundled in as one of the 5 new plugins in ultimate. And if I am not mistaken it is a UadX plugin so no need for an apollo interface to use it. The only thing stopping me from Studio One 7 is whether the native plugins work in other daws or not. You can find they are downloadable with Studio One Hub BUT there is no mention if the vst versions are included by default with studio 1. I am also curious if the there will be any deals around black friday or not such as a hardware package. Can't find info anywhere and they block communications on the forum there unless you own studio one already... guess I will have to try to contact customer support to find this out. Little suprising it says there are vst versions but no actual mention if they are included or not.

I highly encourage people to use interactive stuff like airwaves. It's just way more fun and effective to play any instrument or to use your hands, legs or other body parts to modulate effects. But the demos were actually stupid just to demonstrate it can get two hands. If you're a pianist and you're in a band most likely you would use your right hand for a top melody (bass player will cover the lie notes), so it would have made sense to use the airwaves as a complex, 3D modulation, instead of this extremely limited thing that you press a chord, lift your hand and then you put them back. For me the real cringe, tho, is seeing producers writing melodies with a mouse and congratulating each other when they found some scale notes.

Hey Weaver, combining reverbs has been a studio trick for decades. I have no idea if Bi-verb is any good, but you seem to not know that's a standard vocal trick that's been used on thousands of hit songs.

@@Weaverbeats this is correct, you can get pretty clean results using a short & bright reverb (like a spring/small plate) & run it into a larger room/shimmer verb. Similar in concept to running a slapback delay into hall reverb.

@@Weaverbeats I feel like it was really rushed. for me it's been very inconsistent on raw recordings and any time you need to drastically change the pitch of a vocal. also not sure why but in one instance I was getting a lot of clicks and pops whenever I played a live note in MIDI mode. still getting the hang of it but for now my hypothesis is that it's best used for transposing vocals that have already been corrected and compressed.
