Just my opinion,i think tanner hasn't been given the best equipment at shark and treated as just a fill in driver to cover sharks sponser obligations ,think he would be better in a team that actually want to see him progress as a driver and not just there to make up the numbers .
@busher69
@busher69 Жыл бұрын
Why would Shark give Tanner the best of what they have as the season winds down? They wouldn't and shouldn't. Tanner was doing exactly what you described, helping Shark meet their sponsor obligations and giving Tanner some seat time to boot. I want Tanner to succeed as much as everyone else. The fact is, Tanner is nowhere near being ready for a full time WoO team. His 410 experience just isn't there. This is not a knock but is the truth. Tanner has had a rough time getting into the top 10 in California with the NARC Series at Tulare and Hanford. He just isn't there yet, and how could he be? He's just getting started in 410s. Granted he had an excellent prelim night at the Trophy Cup in 22. But, that was one night and a 360 show. Look at his other results at Tulare - mid pack and maybe sniffing a top 10. Tulare and Hanford are both elbows up tracks where the fast line is almost always on the top. Where did we see Tanner running - on the bottom at both tracks. The fast guys flying by on the top and Tanner is stuck on the bottom. Again, this is not knocking him. It just examples of where he is today in a 410 and against 410 teams and drivers. He's just getting started. In my minds eye, the best thing that could happen for Tanner is to have raised some interest in some PA Posse team owners. Big and fast dry slick tracks are exactly what Tanner needs if he wants to eventually go out on the WoO or High Limit tours. Those guys back there will teach him how to race. BTW - does anybody remember Cody Darrah ? ?

@@busher69 fair comment, I suppose in the long run if tanner gained some experience and is ok with it all is good .

If there is a PA ride open for him, the John Trone 39 is looking for a driver, so that is a possible option.
@busher69

Time will tell. Tanner had a rough time in PA this fall with the exception of the last night at Port Royal. My fear is he may have already damaged his value. You never know. There are alot of good young drivers coming up all over the country. These car owners keep an eye on these kids when they're given a chance. If they don't impress immediately, they're forgotten and the owners move on to the next kid - poof it' can be over that quick. I hope Tanner had enough good runs with Shark to have caught the eye of a owner in the mid-west or east to continue his quest. That's not to say another couple of years running the California NARC series wouldn't help him. Only problem with that is Cory Day is a couple years younger then Tanner and he is taken over California. Tanner has shown he can run with Cory but not every night. This winter is going to be very interesting to see what Tanner can put together. What ever it is, I hope it's a step forward for him, he's a good kid.@@TylerCoolGuy88

@@busher69 Also keep in mind that he also raced at a lot of tracks where he had very little to no experience at. So, it is not expected to set the world on fire when there are drivers with 20-30+ years field. Maybe return visit to Williams Grove and Port Royal will allow him to improve. I think give him about 5-10 years and def will be up there near the top.

Tanner, CJB #5 just fired Spencer Bayston. You should give them a call about a 2024 WoO ride. Convince them you could do better than Bayston.

I never understood things like qualifying or really even in a race. When someone is trying to catch a guy usually in the front. I see alot of drivers just ride the top. The math just doesnt add up doing that. Its a higher avg top speed every lap vs a guy not doing it. But you are taking the longer way around. Theres 4 basic ways to apex a corner. 1. early apex shooting for the early entry from the top 2. mid apex 3. late apex 4. none lol Which one you choose depends on where you want to be coming out of the corner. But not apexing is certainly slower and I don't get why racers wouldn't take a lap to get that average speed up and apex a corner properly. I think even if you did apexing 50% of the time you are maximizing everything.

I look forward every week to your videos. I don't watch other videos of a same race until I watch yours. I'm looking forward to seeing the Outlaw World Finals and then the upcoming Outlaw Cart season. Why are you wearing your 18T helmet instead of your Shark Racing helmet? I miss the 18T car. I know driving for Bobby Allen is a great opportunity. But I miss the family racing team. I also know this is a great opportunity for Carly working with the Bobby Allen crew. But I hate see her put her driving career on hold. Although I have heard her say on her KZbin channel she wants to work toward being a crew member or eventually a crew chief. Keep up the good work.

@tannerholmes We love your videos and love following your journey in open wheel dirt racing. You are a true inspiration for younger racers and with that I am hoping when your schedule allows you can make a video about your career up to this point. Our 7 year old is obsessed and wanting to follow in your footsteps and it would be awesome to hear about your family, upbringing and how you got to where you are. Wishing you continued success from your fans over here in Idaho.

That red clay produces some of the best racing I have ever seen. IRA and Gumout shows at the red clay Superior, Wisconsin, Speedway were among the best races I have seen. Red clay produces wherever a track is able to find a source of it.

Tanner I just wanted to say thank you for taking time to explain all the aspects of racing these awesome sprints! I believe that you have a great future in this sport! Even though I haven't heard any other drivers share their knowledge of the sport. If they all are like you. Then this would explain why the racing is exciting!! Keep doing what you're doing. Well you said it yourself! You know where your weaknesses is.! So go work on getting better at it. You know that makes the difference of being mid pack or up front with the chance of the podium! Better yet the Big "W"!!
