I see people miss this one all the time :). That's why I called it the most important one. It gives Ptera so much more flight time, which = fun time.. glad these tips are good. Is a lot of beginner stuff. Although your comment section has made me see just how much important the "simple" is. Please continue to let me know how my tutorial is, the feed back would be useful. :) I feel like I'm covering things as they are needed?. Would you agree?

@@soulfullcreations7308 so true. many new players arrive all the time and the game doesn't explain anything. therefore I am pretty sure these videos will be useful to a lot of people. so, I think the basics tips are very important, too. let's be real, most tutorials out there focus on PVP only. at least the ones which pop up in my recommendations. but, many people don't even know how to track properly. so many keep asking me how to follow tracks. I was thinking of making a tutorial about it once, but, I don't see myself as tutorial channel. so, as soon as you will do a video about how to follow tracks properly, I will give a link to it as answer to everyone who will ask me in the future. more easy than explaining it over and over 😁 the point is tho, there are plenty of things in this game which people don't know. I have 3.5k hours and didn't know that tapping is such a big difference 😊 about feedback. I wonder if you are a native English speaker, because if so, then I would rather speak. specially in a tutorial it can be a distraction to read. I know it's weird coming from the bubble guy 🤣
@soulfullcreations73085 ай бұрын
Valid points thank you Mombie. I wasn't really going to focus a lot on mechanic stuff as an alone subject as that changes a lot. More as pick the Dino you want to play, and here are the methods in which you can survive with. Showing some mechanics along the way to show how they connect to the play style. Ie it's not just the tapping that will get you efficient flight, it's the combination of flightpath also. You can't expect to tap and fly vertical. You put the methods together. I had tapped like this before the stamina changes were in place. The stamina changes are really good. Its shows Exhaustion, and the difficulties in recovering from Exhaustion once your stamina gets too low. Much like real life. These mechanics are in place to force you into behaving like a pteranodon posiibly once did. But as for tracking, I'll show that stuff as the Dino needs it. Pteranodon doesn't really need to track anything other then blood. But that will be shown in the next episode. These are methods which I believe will be the things that outlast mechanic changes, as the methods are like the philosophy of which the game wants you to play with and what I think the devs are going for. So hopefully it won't become redundant. Kind of trying to instill some critical thinking into the player base, so people dont quickly just blame good mechanics on bad methods. But you are right, I would be able to explain that easier by talking, which was my original plan if I had my microphone cables hahaha. Which begs the question, can I edit the video and upload it again. Like video maintenance without deleting and starting again with KZbin?

@@soulfullcreations7308 I like the idea behind. specially on focusing on the most important stuff. the survival aspect and some quality of life tips to grow you specific dino more easy. like your perfect diet tips and so on. I ain't the biggest fighter, but knowing these things makes it so much more easy to grow and keep my dino easily alive. that's the experience which helps you way more than PVP only. PVP is step two imo. first you have to know how to grow them and keep them alive while looking for a proper fight 😁 you don't have to convince me. I am a huge fan of the stam change in general. I just think some dinos still need some tweaks here and there. I very much thought ptera needs some love in that regard, but, I have to see. the tapping looks promising. yet, if I imagine to build a nest up on a tree and have to tap circle the tree 10 times with sticks, then it still doesn't sound enjoyable to me. could be wrong tho. we will see 😃 but, I never was a fan of the fact that stam didn't play a huge part in evrima. so, I like that change a lot. jeez mate. I don't know to be honest. I mean, there is a tool which let's you change certain parts. but, I don't know if you can change the whole video. I never tried that so far. but, specially at the beginning you can change your style imo. it just shows that you improve from my point of view.

Been saying this for ages when people are complaining about Ptera stamina, its not a problem as long as you do not play it as if it was a rocket flying straight up and keep tapping to gain altitude with every or every other wing beat. Nice to see someone put it into video form for all the lazy people! Edit: Oh I did not see you mentioning sprint flying, its also a big part of a efficient flying. If you fly up to a decent altitude you can then hold sprint for 2-3 seconds to gain speed but what a lot of people do not know is that you keep this speed without it costing any stamina as long as you keep gliding. Basically as long as you do not GAIN altitude you keep the extra speed while flying, the moment you tap to fly up you lose the extra speed. Works the same with speed gained from diving/losing altitude as well. This lets you travel fast anywhere since even a much shorter "sprint tap" costing barely any stamina is still a speed boost that you can keep until you need to gain altitude again.
@soulfullcreations73084 ай бұрын
Sprint flying is great for that! In These short Tutorials I was mainly focusing on what people were complaining about and what I had seen people struggle with, so I completely missed it. So thanks for the comment. :) Plus I don't utilize it all that much either, only when I'm in a rush or hunting, Which as Ptera i'm hardly ever in a rush lol. but most my speed comes from diving and dropping from a height. Because as you stated as soon as you press your fly button that momentum is dead, not that tapping your sprint cost that much in Stam anyway. But totally agree with the shooting up like a rocket haha. I like to watch Eagles fly and taken a lot of my flight methods from them really. Hence the Stam changes never effected me because I had always played this way. Also, people like to fly over stuff at the cost of stamina, when you could glide around obstacles for free. hence why flight paths are extremely important. Thanks mate, If you play on AU severs id love to play with other confident Ptera players :)

@soulfullcreations73084 ай бұрын
Thank you!!! I am very glad you are giving it another shot! as Ptera is the best haha. Another little tip: Try not to let your stamina fall below the 60% mark, as anywhere below that passes a game mechanic threshold, which will make your recover a lot longer. I like to think of anywhere below as your emergency stamina. Also, just because you can fly over it, doesn't mean you cant fly around it. haha, we have no cost of stam when we can just fly around stuff. and it helps creating those resistance free paths :). Any other questions feel free to ask, I don't mind doing vids to help illustrate what I am trying to say, so feel free. :) Thanks again for your positive words :)

Hey mate! Thank you for checking it out!. I could work on some other dinos in the same format. From someone perspective and new to the game, what else would you like to see? Surviving tactics as a stegosaurus? and carno? To be honest my favourite dinos are ptera, carno, troodon and occasionally stegosaurus. But I feel I'm pretty adapt to most the critters. So let me know what you believe is necessary and needed and I'll make some :). Thanks again! And stoked Mombie gave ptera a go and a shout out. Bless.

Here from Mombi. Thank you for the valuable tip. Gaining altitude was always my stamina hog. Now, its much better thanks to you 😁 Just wondering, do you just tap along the wing flap or hold and release with every wing flap?
@soulfullcreations73084 ай бұрын
Hey mate! Thanks for stopping by. :) I tap to the each completed wing cycle, so as your wings start to come back up I tap it again to create another cycle. Although I change it up depending on what my path is. If it's a steeper climb then it will be just a consistent rhythmic tapping motion too suit the climbs needs, I only will ever hold fly, when an obstacle appears in front of me without having any prior preparation to avoid it. Remember it's sometimes more effective to just go around an obstacle rather then over it, it make flight more enjoyable in my opinion, But if your going for a long distant flight, start your accent from further away, while choosing your least resistant path. I watch Eagles fly a lot and I had taken it from them haha. Although it's not exactly the same but the method of flight path/efficiency is very similar. Small birds are different. :).
@soulfullcreations73084 ай бұрын
Also, If you watch ptera as soon as you press (not hold) it will pitch up. that's why a light tap, and really what you are trying to do is to avoid it to fall into decent like in the gliding animation, so just before it falls into the glide animation your pretty much breaking that cycle from happening. I just tap in beat of wings because it looks more natural when flying it, and I'm all about the immersion in this game :)

@soulfullcreations73082 ай бұрын
Hi mate :) So for best efficiency, when you are in glide animation, just tap your flight button, you will see the change in animation. You just want to initiate the next animation. So on the up stroke of the wing I tap it, not hold just tap. And on the down stroke I do the same. I did a another video explaining that a little further. Good mutations... hmm I think that depends on what you are trying to achieve with that life. My go too and anything that makes my attack stronger and with also the slower decay of nutrients. That's me though. For you it might be different. I play on AU1 server. And at 5.55 I was showing the benefits of flying with the terrain rather against it. It will make flight more enjoyable as well as save you stamina. That demonstration was an extreme case, so you can see what I was talking about :). I think some new things are coming to ptera, not exactly sure when, but apparently some new animations and mechanics. But we will see haha. And thanks for watching! I'm glad you got something out of it :)

@soulfullcreations730816 күн бұрын
By using air break, you tap it as you turn. Works best with speed. It's very handy for tight manoeuvring also, to quickly dodge or change direction etc. If you have difficulty shoot me another message and I'll try help you further :)

Very useful. Thank you. But how about landing? How do you land so perfectly and quickly? I keep pressing z and it sllllooooooowwwwlllyyyy moving in the air but not loosing much of the height. And pressing Z and ctrl at the same time feels so weird. Did you change key bindings or is there a better way to land? My Fingers hurt 😂
@soulfullcreations7308Ай бұрын
It's a lot of timing and the altitude you come in at, I play with a controller so I will use the equivalent buttons (ctrl + z for a quicker decent while in "air-break") and hold space bar + Z so when you change from air break animation to flight, you dont just fall to the ground. The controller has its pros and cons, so I think that might be why it looks easier for me. Plus a lot of time flying ptera haha. I practice flying low a lot, I love dodging obstacles and pushing my skillset. So that would be landing, flying through jungle, attacking AI and players (not always to kill) just to get used to your bite timing and how low you need to be to land a good hit and not bottom out on another player or ground. I will practice landing with as little use of air break as possible. And some times if you land well enough you don't even make a sound too. I hope this helps. I will need to do another tutorial since a lot of changes to the game have come.
@pizzaparty-r1c4 ай бұрын
Not too efficient. lol If you really want to be a pro, hold W and steer with the mouse. You can also do precise landings or gain altitude without tapping spacebar with this method. 😁
@soulfullcreations73084 ай бұрын
Pros and cons my friend. From my experience having a slight elevation and holding W doesn't seem to change the efficiency. If you just sit and tap away you will burn your stam. But if you tap each cycle of the wing beat breaking the shift in animation into gliding will always keep you in a positive altitude and if done correctly then the efficiency is really good. The demonstration was a demonstration. Holding w is good for straight lines and dives with a little bit more control. As every degree you move with your mouse changes your efficiency. You lose a lot of control. So manoeuvring is limited, as you can't look around while you fly. Which has massive draw backs. Also I don't seem to have any problems with precise landings? So I think this may be a preference, rather then pro or not? But if you you disagree then please show me how it is better :)
@soulfullcreations73084 ай бұрын
I just did a test. Comparing jjfajen tutorial. I did my method the exact same place from bottom of water access dam to the top and I used 14% of stam, where it cost him 24%. I did a video. So actually it's not even more efficient. but i do have perfect diet in the test, but that's still quite a big difference. The vid is uploaded, so be a pro and have a look ;)
