I had been studying gaps for a few weeks now but I've never had so many Ah ha moments in such a short time span! I just love the "why" behind every action. It makes so much sense. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and experience for FREE. It is greatly appreciated.

Now this is how you teach trading! I’ve seen literally over a hundred videos on trading in the last two weeks, but nothing like this. You bring so many bright insightful moments. Gotta love your style of making people think “why”. The answer is on the previous candle. So simple. Never thought of that! I might consider taking your education courses. Thanks for sharing for free! Thumbs up and subscribed!

Excellent excellent video. My biggest complaint in the world of teaching is confusion. Most youtuber teachers and I do mean Most...often confuse people rather than bring clarity to the subject matter. They always concentrate on the "how" and never the "why" and then they go 150 mph thru it. You however, speak at a moderate pace and teach the WHY, which brings clarity. You are good sir. And your video on properly interrupting volume is also Excellent. Not good, but excellent. I will now follow your channel and will take a class or two.👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽 P.S. I never heard anyone explain Gaps like you just did.

As a beginner, I would have liked you to explain what a Gap is, and why they happen ? and why they leave gaps or broken areas in the candle patterns. I would assume Gaps happen because of massive buying or selling spurts ?? Be nice if you could have explained that, but good Vid otherwise. Why does there have to be Gaps ? when they can show vertical patterns or descending patterns that are solid in the Candle Patterns ?? Don't quite fully understand this, but I'll find out along the way --thanks for the education.

The breakaway gap name is found first in Edwards and Mcgee and later adopted by John Murphy in his book on Technical Analysis. It is supposed to be associated with the breakaway from a consolidation area. A runaway gap is a gap that occurs within the expansion of the days following the breakout. You also have exhaustion gaps, which I suggest you cover in one of your next videos (perhaps part 4?), with NVDA's recent action giving us a perfect example.

Thank you Jeremy! I was wondering about older gaps. Say you see a gap on your chart from 9 months ago and price is approaching it. Can you still play that gap as a gap and go or a retest gap or does it just now become S/R and we shouldn't view it as a gap anymore? THANKS BRO!!! Glad I found your site!

Bill Rieger Hey bud! Thank you for the comment. Absolutely ~ those gaps will act as very nice S & R levels. So if it was a retest gap and it’s retesting the gap - perfect! Start planning the buy. Good question! =}

@@RealLifeTrading I had similar questions. I always hear the "90% of gaps fill" thing. But how old does an unfilled gap have to be before the probability of it filling is so low that you can completely ignore it? If there are multiple gaps in the same direction, do the chances of the original gap filling change? Thanks for the video.

We understand catalysts, Trends, and Technical Support/Resistance, but gap ups and gap downs have been tricky. The way you explained the topic and engaged the viewers is really awesome. There is a lot of content out there and it can get very confusing, however, I feel I would like to be a short-biased trader. Is your trading style short-biased? I'm based in the UK. I've Tradingview available to me for learning charts. I'm using a demo paper trial account. Do you use Tradingview? Can you please send me a link to your layout? Hi Jerremy Hope you are well...just re-watching some of your video stuff... In this video, when you suggested the target entries from the recent gap down, I was curious why you suggested the bullish entry would be a close just above the wick of the gap down candle? With the most recent support line very close, I would have thought you would have waited for a break close above that recent support....or consider a short trade at that level... I would think that as the trade worked it's way back up to the recent support, would now act as resistance and also an opportunity for those people that are trapped to hadn't gotten out yet a new chance to get out, thus pushing the stock lower as it reached that level.... Thoughts? Darrell

@RealLifeTrading

freewaydeath Just like a ceiling can become an attic, which you can walk on, right? You have people who interact strongly with that price and it becomes engrained in their mind. So when the stock breaks past it, all the people who bought there lose money. And when the stock retraces, they will attempt to get out at breakeven, selling at the previous price they bought, making it a resistance. :-)

That Gap filled. Meaning resistance came support. So, a Gap, Fill and Go would be wise. Maybe U said that and I didnt pa attention. But anyhow, so high priced in the demand area is not my thing. Market seeks balance and market filled the gap.

Look up MRNA gap today. On 10/1 = what type of gap was that today and how could you have taken advantage of the move and sentiment?

What difference does it make what color the previous candle is; a gap is a gap isn't it? Thanks for the vid.
@andranikmilitosian9620
@andranikmilitosian9620 4 жыл бұрын
Hey John there is a difference in shock value. For example, if you gap up above a long range red bar the previous day it adds more shock value because someone looking at that chart yesterday would be thinking that this stock is tanking the whole day so when a stock that was tanking the whole day yesterday now today gaps up over all those sellers it is a stronger type of gap.

Isn't it very simple? Every major gap (up or down) happened a DAY after earnings. Why would anyone get into a position the day before earnings?? As obviously the price can swing in either direction WITHOUT giving any signal about it before.
@RealLifeTrading
@RealLifeTrading 6 жыл бұрын
Andre Makovey haha. Why would anyone get in before earnings?? Because it’s the market! Because they ‘could’ be right and make money! Plus, earnings happen 4x a year. So investors would be in before earnings..

One more question ... ha, thats a joke, there will be more!! In forex trading I have been told that a large solid intraday candle is as a gap, is the same true for stocks (assuming that is true for forex)? Is a large solid 15M or 1H candle the same as a gap? Thanks again!!

Welcome to the hardest game in the world. Unfortunately, you're playing with some of the sharpest, fastest, most intelligent, well informed, stubbornly irrational and in many cases, unethical minds in the world. You're up against the computer that can react faster than you. The trader who has more experience than you. The fund that has more money than you. The insider that has more information than you. The others that will misinform you. The inner voice that will do it's best to undo you. So, leave all your dreams of making quick and easy money, behind. The first aim is survival. Your absolute first goal is to learn how to stay in the game. You can only do this by mapping the territory. By understanding how the enemy thinks and acts. By having a solid game plan. And by picking your battles very, very carefully. The best way to have a fighting chance is to have the same edge they have and understand how they move and this is what the SQB AMAC strategy is all about. Yuril Zubong shows you how you can follow the footsteps of the big boys.
