What your seeing IS the base game at this point, and it’s never been easier to visit these creations using all the teleports and community hub ingame. Finding them out in the world randomly makes it special. Most things are built around the unique topology of the land, you cant just copy paste it randomly and think it will work 🙃

I built a 19 story "space needle" next to my base fully lit in every color with a cool walk way and fully powered. You are above where ships normally fly by and at the same level as frigates when they warp in. But these bases make me feel like a chump compared 😅. These bases are incredible.

And the base I built is right next to a ancient warp platform. And inside the base has a teleporter. So yes I can teleport between my main base and the freighter. I called it my interdemensional outpost 😎.

It reminded me of the Dammerung from Xenosaga. I took my naming scheme from that game as it is one of my all time favorites. Not sure if the author of the Stargazer got their inspiration from there but it looks to strikingly similar to be a coincidence.

@@Filsoh As an extra storage since they have their own inventories, Starship collection garage (up to 9 I believe), Frigates (little cruisers you can buy) collection, sending the said Frigates to mission that can net you some materials and money, Squadron command panel (from the latest update, you can have a squad of NPC starships following you), multiplayer travelling/warping, and lastly mobile base building since you can build bases and rooms in your Freighter. To add to that, you can get your first freighter for free by jumping through systems and there will be a fleet that you need to save from pirates. After that, you will be invited to the command room and claim the ship.

The people that design these bases can in no way be average people. They HAVE to have extensive architecture/engineering backgrounds irl or they must be truly genius. I don't understand how players are able to create massive sprawling cities, but HelloGames still havn't done so but just make them extremely rare. Have them as DLC missions where you have to discover them through a side quest. Have ones that are underwater, in caves on inhospitable planets ect. It'd make for some pretty crazy experiences and the questing writing wouldn't even have to be that complex. Same with the cities just use existing props that we already use as players in our builds... It just literally mkes no sense haha :c

Yo, whoever created that 'Stargazer' must've taken inspiration from my 'Stargazer' I posted on Empyrion: Galactic Survival's workshop several years ago. The whole visible engine room under the floor was a cool idea I had that (I think) turned out really cool looking lol... even the name is the same though haha. Not mad or anything, glad it inspired someone if so. If the creator of it happens to read this, nice job! I could never get the outside to look the way I wanted on my ship, you nailed this one!

We did hecking tour around his planets, I did like 20 screenshots of the best building skills i've ever seen and then I never saw the guy again. One of the best moments I had in the game.

I got inspired by a video like this and made Heightenburg, a city that goes to the build limit. It’s not as impressive as this stuff though. So I’m kinda disappointed in myself lol. If you want the coords then feel free. It’s also an all purpose survival city. It does provide great views of the planet below and also if you want, you can throw exocraft off the city. There’s a building for that, it does have a disco too lol, and hotel and a power station. You get the point. Reply if you want coords.

Went to "Stargazer System" it's not even an S-Class, it's Hyperdrive is Really Short Range... A bit disappointing... Some of the Artists in this game are truly remarkable. I made a couple of what I consider pretty decent bases. A mansion on a floating island, and a castle overlooking my settlement. Compared with these bases though, it's like a kindergartener being compared with Michelangelo.

Oh yeah, I had several subterranean behemoth's of bases ranging from Lunar/Oceanic/Lush environments built to aid players get resources or hunker down only for them to be buried every patch. Never doing that gain...(Before living ships were a thing)

The biggest problem with building in your settlement is when there are updates, any of your buildings not part of the settlement can mess up the settlement positioning and freeze your game the moment you set foot inside the settlements boundaries. Happened to me. My entire settlement shifted over about 3 feet in one direction. Then if I looked up at any point the game would freeze. Deleted my building and it went back to normal and worked fine after that. This city looks amazing! But would suggest nobody on console build in their settlements as it could really mess up your game.

Almost lost my save. I lucked out by looking at the floor at my feet in first person and just walked in a direction. Once I was out of the settlement the game worked fine again but the second I set foot inside the settlement boundaries game would freeze. Deleted my base and everything worked amazing again inside settlement.

As someone who has never played the game, but finds it very interesting. Would it take too long to go through the game (casually) and gather materials necessary for building etc? Would love to jump into it, but I'm afraid if it takes too long I wouldn't have the free time to grind all the stuff

Gathering the materials for many of the basic parts of a structure is extremely simple. For example, doors, walls, roofs, most of the cosmetics you see, lights, chairs or tables all use one recourse. Often between 100-10 of that recourse. If you can find your suitable planet to build on, recourses will constantly spawn, and if you can’t find one in your planet you can simply just fly up to the next planet. The majority of your time is really going to be spent trying to find all the structure blue prints you need for a bigger variety and decor in your base. Not to mention the technology you’d probably want to find in order to make mining and exploring a little easier and efficient

Honestly I think taking a page out of Mojang's book and making a whole slew of generated(procedurally or maybe a few different variations of one structure that just uses RNG to select which one spawns) structures that the player can take over and alter however they wish.

You can purchase the jellyfish from the little stall found on space stations. Everything used in these bases are vanilla parts used in game but you can combine parts together using glitching to create items that look unique.

You get all the Decor items from the Quicksilver merchant inside the anomaly just make sure you have Quicksilver to buy them first!.

I've been building games for years, 10+ year old roman Minecraft world, massive citadels in Conan official PvP built with the classical orders, huge ARK bases built with metal and tech on PvE that looked like halo forerunner structures, Fallout settlement bases, etc..... I started this game over a month ago and have 420 hours put in, several temples built to commemorate significant sites, and 180 stargate bases scattered across 16-17 galaxies. I was utterly appalled when I found out there is a structure limit of 200,000 for each player account, and each base has a 3000 structure limit if you want to upload it for others to see, so I ended up stripping the roof off my first basilica, and have had to remove anything not absolutely necessary to the form of the structures, just to be able to stretch my build limit so that I can make my massive stargate network that spans every galaxy. My point is for any new players, if you want a nice massive structure or creative project, save your structure allotment until then, power cable wires count towards it too, so wire your bases efficiently so you don't waste pieces. Also your freighter base structures count towards it too, so maybe have a bare minimum design if you prefer a base on a planet.

Imagine they added a new type of ship called stargazers as a reference to the stargazer which could be brought for a couple 100 million credits and then if you fuel it with 100 warp cells then you would be able to jump to another galaxy or star system and it would leave behind a rip in space which would allow you to follow the path it took to the other galaxy/star system that would only be open for at most 24 hours.

If only NMS was online open galaxy, quite literally is my dream game but sadly I don’t think it’s possible with todays technology otherwise someone would have done it by now.

Star Citizen is ambitiously hoping to add base building next year I believe. Their "Shard" tech and "Server Meshing" tech may actually make your dreams come true. But don't hold your breath. Although it's latest patch did push servers to 120 players, and with the graphical fidelity and complexity of the game in its very alpha state, it ran really well. So, it does give me hope their ambitions could become reality... in a few more years.. Better late than never.. aha

@@scenenuf I’ve played star citizen off and on, it’s okay but I can’t play a single sessions without game breaking bugs. My hat goes off to them for trying but if they can’t do it with their funding I doubt we are quite there technology wise
