If ONLY we had 14-lane highways, it might not take me over an hour to travel 25 miles! I think the widest I hit is 10 (?) around the 405/110 interchange. Depending on the time of day & direction of travel, it's remarkably not all that congested. 🙄✌🏼

@@nannettefreeman7331 That last line you so eloquently summed up could just as easily be said for nearly all roadways/intersections, lol… but yeah, am familiar with that specific area having relatively less major congestion by comparison too the outlying interchanges. @jefffrederick2582 жыл бұрын
@@seanbatiz6620 you've never been to LA, have you -_- Traffic in new your is insane. Traffic in Houston is 1 2-lane highway wrapped around the city. I exaggerate a bit. But I can honestly say that I would prefer the traffic of those 2 cities than any freeway in Los Angeles. In truth it's gotten worse after covid. It used to be there was a set period of time you knew to get in and get out of LA. Usually between 11am and 2pm. And any time between 9:30pm and 4:00am you were fine. Now, with do many working from home, there is no consistency to the traffic during the day. It's congested any time between 4am and 9pm. It's one thing if you drive into LA on occasion. But after one week you would truly understand the horror that is the 60/10/101/405/210 freeway. Remember - Californians don't measure a the distance of a car ride in miles. We measure it in time. Because when it takes you an hour to drive 4 or 5 blocks west on Wilshire on a Sunday... Well distance is irrelevant.

@Unfamous-Chronicles2 жыл бұрын
@@sarahissersohn5495 (sorry about the length! When I start talking about rides, I don't shut up.) the term "dark ride" is used in the US, and probably the UK, to describe any ride within a building. So the spaceship going to the moon, the Futurama, even just a small mouse coaster put in a building at an amusement park are dark rides. Haunted Mansion, Tower of Terror, Pirates of the Caribbean, the giant ride inside of the Epcot ball, they're all dark rides. Funny thing is... I mentioned good ones. Every state or county fair will tend to have at least one dark ride where you ride a small car on a twisty track, normally set up with 'scary' things. They're awful and let in so much light as they're moved so often. Or Six Flags has a tendency to put cheap coasters in huge steel buildings and then not keep the building up. My local one did this when they bought the park, and within 10 years the best roller coaster there was closed because they didn't want to pay for upkeep. And they're known to put simple, sometimes used rides like a mouse coaster in a building to make a cheap ride. I will say my local one had a scrambler in a fake igloo and then closed it and moved the ride, since the igloo was letting in so much light. A few years later it reopened and is actually dark, so strobe effects and then sudden darkness make the scrambler actually exciting. But it's one of the few non-Disney dark rides I enjoy. Oh! And log flumes. The ones with the mines are a blast.

He said they were just about to the point of just getting out of the car and wading through the water when FINALLY they got it going again and they were able to finish / get off. The immense positive feedback that this GM futurist promotional attraction gained at that ‘39 World’s Fair, truly had to correlate with why so much detailed effort & craftsmanship went into GM’s PostWar (WWII) MOBILE “Progress Of Tomorrow” fair exhibit of a scaled down version of this, all automated and incorporated within one of the dozen or so “GM Futurliner” couches for those events… quite a wild “show” that display would put on for folks! Ironically tho, one of those couches was also showcasing the “Future of Television”, which was what essentially caused the demise of that entire mobile concept
