The Seattle Space Needle also has a revolving restaurant plus the world's first revolving glass floor, which shows how the floor moves so it you will understand it all. Almost the same views of water, buildings but we have larger parks and huge mountain ranges (Cascades and Olympics) along with Mt. Rainier, she's beautiful on a sunny day. Also, hopefully by the time you all get here, the world's first light rail on a floating bridge will be open and we happen to have the two longest floating bridges in the world. The best view in Seattle is in the Columbia tower (76 stories) from the ladies loo. It's about 1.5 times taller than the Space Needle. I like when I get off the Space Needle elevator to look in between the cracks to the bottom. Even though you feel like it's falling over, it's the strongest structure to be in when there is a earthquake, strong wind, etc. You can watch the large planes fly by and we also have seaplanes that you can watch land in nearby Lake Union, the lake is actually considered a runway. You can take a seaplane for a scenic ride or charter one to go up to Victoria, BC flying over the San Juan Islands as you go. 😀👍

Those all sound great! I hope to go there someday. The CN tower until the relatively recent past was able to claim to be the tallest manmade structure on Earth, and is three or four times taller than the Space Needle. It still is the tallest man-made structure in the Western Hemisphere but there are a couple of buildings in the Middle East that are taller than the CN tower now.
@Jack_Stafford2 жыл бұрын
I'm glad you guys went, the restaurant is about three-quarters of the way up. For those wanting the highest experience, you can go another 20 or 30 stories up to the Skypod which is equal to about 150+ stories up and for the longest time was the highest point on Earth you could go without getting on an airplane. You really get the sense of being partially to orbit, there's only about 3 meters between the Elevator Shaft and the windows. You definitely get the sense of height up there because you're in a much smaller space. It was kind of funny the time I went, there was a lady brave enough to go up there but only with her back leaning firmly against the central wall /elevator core, and very carefully crept around the whole shaft, back pressed against it and her arms spread out as if she could hang on, but she was brave enough to go up there so cheers to her! Normally there are mounties on patrol around the CN tower, maybe you missed that part of tourist season?

When I was growing up my parents had a cottage on Lake Ontario. We were approximately 30 miles from Toronto. On clear days we could see the Toronto skyline, at night we could see the lights. I was told that what we saw was a mirage. A friend posted a picture from the top of the escarpment in Lewiston which made it look as though Toronto was only about a mile away. It was incredible.

Very few skyscraper bathrooms have views. Only one that I know is Vanderbilt right next to grand central in nyc. It’s one view towards the Manhattan skyline. Also the elevator ride on the top is frightening if you want to try it as it’s a “glass” elevator (more likely acrylic as it’s stronger and gives better clarity) but it’s like you are floating over Manhattan unfortunately if you have a fear of heights I definitely would skip it as the mirror room and balloon room are a wonder in themselves. It was built with the idea of it being a art installation that constantly changes because of people moving through the building constantly.

Winnipeg's revolving restaurant is Prairie 360, on top of the Fort Garry Place apartment complex. It actually has two revolving floors. The larger, lower level revolves clockwise about once every 70 minutes, while the upper floor goes the other way every 40 minutes. I've eaten there twice in its previous incarnation, the Royal Crown Revolving Restaurant. These kinds of places tend to be rather pricey. It's very important to never put your belongings on the window ledge in a revolving restaurant.

There was a baseball game at the Rogers Centre and they said they could hear the bats hitting the ball and the crowd noises.

@yugioht422 жыл бұрын
The restaurant in the land pavilion at Epcot is a rotating one with the same principle just a tiny bit faster. Not much faster though. That restaurant is a farm to table style place taking every plant material from the land ride just downstairs. All the flour, sugar, fish, tomatoes, etc served at any restaurant or cart at Disney literally came from the land ride. They only buy beef, milk, chicken, plastic, paper, and metal. The fabric for beds and napkins are usually rented via a restaurant service that does that type of thing. Passion fruit is a odd one because of how it has to be grown so Disney doesn’t do that so they buy it frozen as a juice while everything else is grown in the land ride.

I've been to the top of the John Hancock Center in Chicago and the Sears Tower (Willis Tower) in Chicago both several times. And my ears pop each time Going up to the top. Buildings over 50 stories will often cause this. The CN Tower is cool and was a result of the Canadian National Railroad wanting to show off the railroads strength in transportation. However the CN Tower is actually not a building belive it or not, and was never recognized as one. It's actually just a free standing concrete structure. It's just a concrete broadcast antena with an observation deck and restaurant really and hence why it's not a building as it doesn't meet the criteria. But a lot of people often make this common mistake thinking it is one. LOL! 😅 If you ever come to Chicago, the John Hancock Center is a must visit and has the best view of any tower/building in North America in my opinion.

We squabble amongst ourselves right up until the time someone from outside hurts one of us. Then they find out how crazy and together the Americans can get. Only we can fight with each other. I don't know if you ever found out what the origins of the term "son of a gun" is. It's an old term from the British Navy. When the ships would go into port, the guns on the afterdeck would be covered with canvas for privacy and local women would be 'hired' to be with the men. The fleet would would leave and eventually come back to the same port, any offspring that would be there were referred to as a 'Son of a gun'. Also, I want to see Joel explain planetary movements to Lia.
