It sure is crazy! You’re right about that, everyone in this smaller town could’ve had stocked freezers for months! I pretty much had to save some, thank you!

Hey, our major supermarket chain in Australia called "Coles" City store just closed down & they tossed out everything... We are a rich country too & I've written to Channel 9 to see if I can get them to talk about the horrible food waste problems on their after news program called "A Current Affair" - It has also been filmed by 60 minutes Australia for their KZbin channel... Wow, that big bin is called a "Skip" bin - Used on building sites mainly... We have a fleet of "Food Bank" trucks who will try to save most of it... Good luck, I hope you can save what you can, I will share this video on my community tab for others to see, Cheers... 😊🐨🇦🇺🇺🇸✌️🙋♂️

And people have the nerve to say there's a food shortage in this country. It's bad enough we have households that routinely throw away perfectly good food all the time then you have one store that threw all that away
@ExposingOurWaste2 жыл бұрын
Precisely, Robert. Our country is in clinical denial regarding what we waste. It’s essentially the other way around, because almost every store routinely has a high amount of overstock, knowing they can’t sell it all, just on chance it’s needed. We produce too much, it just doesn’t get to the right places. Same with households. They call themselves “eco-friendly” and yet throw out everything after every meal. And yes, all this from one smaller grocery store in an impoverished region. Astounding

@@ExposingOurWaste Exactly, I even get texts from my "friends" now saying "I'm not sure if you want it, but there's a lot of food about to go in the garbage". By the time I get there it's already out in the garbage cans but luckily the food was in the fridge and had just been put out before I got there but still. I estimate this woman throws away at least $150 a week in food every week. Maybe more and she just doesn't care

@@ExposingOurWaste Target also markup the goods, to increase ptofits. The philosophy is Sell High, which means less quantities will sell, due to lack of money. The next strategy is Throw it in the Dumpster. Those Target employees were thinking that they made a lot less in pay than what they were dumping in the dumpster.

I will Never Understand why they wouldn't just call some food pantries and soup kitchens. Places to come and get the stuff!!! Or even just let people come in and take it so it's not getting wasted!

Target should have given away frozen goods free of charge to the customers in the store, and the employees. They want loyalty customers. There were thousands of dollars of food goods in the dumpster. Welcome to America.
@ExposingOurWaste Жыл бұрын
Yes! There were so many better options than this for the food, since the community by this store is deprived and could use some food, and if the store is worried about liability, they can have people sign a form saying that if they get sick (by very low chance) they can’t sue Target for it. Wouldn’t that have been nice!

If this is real, this could have gone to one of the, several banks in Olympia.. Or employees could have texted friends and fam to come hang out at the dumpster….if the food is still cold and frozen..have at it!!!! Stores are not permitted to hand the food out to the public, because…LAW SUITS if someone winds up with food born illnesses.
