In Japanese there isn’t always a distinction between singular and plural so a sentence could be interpreted as criminal or criminals. Also remember that Ace and Buggy met earlier in the anime. The funniest thing about this theorycraft is the small details that have been forgotten or missed due to the sheer amount of details to cover. It’s almost better to take a step back and ask “what is the author trying to do with this clearly intentional ambiguity.” Regardless, it’s fun to listen to. You probably know that by now, but in case, Buggy calls Ace his friend because they met in an earlier episode that you've seen (so it's not spoiler). Buggy was trying to find captain John's treasure, got roped into doing honest work by miners, and then had a party that Ace crashed. They became buddies at that party. They hadn't met before that as far as we know since Ace was only recognised because he's famous. It's also when Buggy said "never to touch a Whitebeard's pirate" and we now understand why since WB is presumably starting a war over Ace xD

Honestly, I don't think it's just men in Impel Down. I think there is pretty close set of both, with a male majority, but not a negligible female population. There are spoiler reasons for why I think so, but also because women dont have the same limitations to get physically powerful in their world. I think that it's just that the torture scenes in the prison and the general imagery meant that Oda and Toei simply didnt want to show it happening to women. But that aside, Hancock's fruit works on both genders almost equally. Pretty much any woman she is shown to try it on was still charmed by her in some way, usually through admiration.

Even the real explanation of Rogers actual child doesn't really make sense so that wouldn't even be that much of a reach. Roger also had enough time to have a child with who he actually slept with so saying that he wouldn't have had the time to do it with garps wife also doesn't make sense. And telling them that something is unlikely is basically the same as saying "yeah that's wrong" because people wouldn't tell them that if the theory was actually true.

I mean, your theory about different mothers could still work. Dragon is a notorious criminal. He is said to be THE MOST WANTED MAN. So which mother would want to bear his child. They would be executed if somebody knew they have a child with Dragon. With that, the mothers could have given up on the child and either gave it to Garp directly or the mothers gave their child to Dragon and Dragon giving it to Garp. Maybe the mothers would have think that their child is safer handled in Garp's care

Please just don't overdo it with your theorizing and discussion. This is a "Shonen" Show addressed towards young boys. There's hardly any hidden meaning within the Story. If Oda sets up something, he does reveal it at some point and choose his reveals carefully so it fits the Story the best from his perspective. Overthinking this Show especially throughout the Manga-to-Anime-to-English-Adaptation might only lead to more confusion then necessary. This Worldbuilding isn't as clever as Hunter X Hunters and therefore isn't as deep for predictions. Overthinking OP can become a curse you'll never recover from XDD

I feel like theorising in One Piece is much *more* fruitful than doing so in HxH. Most stuff introduced in Hunter X Hunter just appears that arc, there aren't hints earlier like in One Piece. (Whether these are actual hints or open ends which Oda expands on later doesn't matter, either is fodder for theorising). And the world is much less expansive.

I recommend watching Carson & Lindsay's reaction to HxH, as they pick up on a lot of the foreshadowings and hints of the Storytelling and they have really good discussions :D The World of HxH is way bigger in the Manga though, but to OP it is also mostly spontaneous stuff Oda comes up with. He has some POI planned but everything in between and the way he wants to tell the Story is often made up on the spot. xD
