6:24 is a nice little example of your skill. Toughness was almost broken while in a corner and you were getting hit by gunfire but you remembered that you had a stim which would be perfect for your teammate. I couldn't see the vast majority of Auric players doing that

The cleave does affect all attacks, just to various degrees because it's percentage based.

Been running Warp Unbound the last two weeks and I have to say it's amazing - until it kills you. There was a patch that fixed some of the issues with some staff interactions, where you would overload even though you had the warp unbound effect working. I still get it every few matches that I spam assail or left click and suddenly I overload with the Warp Unbound buff ON. I see it, I even have a mod that tells me it is working, and I still overload. I'm not sure if there's some framerate issue, if its lag or something, but I can go 3 matches without it happening, and then the last match I had enough, because it happened twice. Haven't had it happening in any clutch moments luckily, but it really messes with my confidence.

Happened to me a couple of times too, you know you got 10 seconds after you hit 100% peril to toss more assail out but you still blow up for some reason. Very annoying bug when it happens, I even went back to the tree to double check if it was just me, nope it clearly states you are immune to overload while lingering effects are active.

Glad to hear the build is working well for you! The Duelling Sword is definitely the far easier option, mostly due to its simplicity - it has no real combo or moveset to worry about. 😂 With the Knife, you'll need to get comfortable with the timing for spamming push attacks as a Psyker. And be prepared for a bit more of a challenge against Crushers in melee, as it won't take them down as quickly as the Duelling Sword without Uncanny Strike. However, it does have the advantage of quicker boss kills!

I'd been using warp splitting in my assail build for a while now not long after they added it, but with the dome and empowered psionics for a lazy pug build and b/c I hadn't really messed with the right tree except for my one or two gun psykers builds. Glad to see it's as good as I suspected it was and this build seems much better than the gun psyker builds I have. Incidentally, any recommendations for guns if we don't like the Laspistol? I assume we want something that can snipe marked targets for DD?

Honestly, you can use any gun you wish because Assail just hard carries. However, the most OP guns for Gun Psyker are Mk V IAG & Recon Lasguns.

Is there a way to get the indicator for Warp Unbound? Most of the times using it ended up being a huge detriment, as I just think it goes longer than it actually is and explode, which pretty much negates everything it did previously and can contribute to mission failure. The only way I found to be using it mostly safe it to immediately dump all Assail shards, uncharged, as you hit 100% peril.

There's a mod for it, but I try to limit the mods I use cause a lot of them will often break every update. Other than that, just keep an internal count of ~10s. It's kind of a skill you have to develop for games that don't have cooldown counters.

6:30 enemy Friendly Fire??? So, if You put then into a line of range, the enemies more close to You, will be defeat by their own kin? At last against machine guns... ... what needs to know is, if have the same effect against shotgunners and the flamers? And I not sure if is a coincidence or not, but since the unarmored appear more often and in crowds, is more easy to be flanked by: Mutants, Pox hounds, Pox bombers, and everyone it's uses stealth as mean of combat and for sneak attacks.

I have noticed that enemies can friendly fire amongst themselves, but it's a pretty unreliable source of damage. Haven't really looked into this mechanic much myself because it's much easier just to kill them yourself 😂

helps to control scrier's gaze peril buildup so you can stack more, plus it gives you free toughness generation from quietude, helping you stay maxed toughness in the thick of it

It's inconsistent due to its RNG-based nature, but it does help maintain SG. Much of your damage and toughness regeneration (Mettle) relies on crits, so ideally, you’d want the crit chance buff to last. Without a staff, your quell speed is also quite slow, and Battle Meditation will help lowering peril before activating SG (which again helps it last). @TheRealSykx makes a good point about Quietude too.

Is there a UI bug by any chance? You took the node that makes Disrupt Destiny last 10 seconds, but when you trigger it, you do not get a stack and it disappears after 4 seconds. Watch at 01:53, 3 marked kills, no stacks, ticking down over 4 seconds. What's going on there?

There is a UI bug that will fail to show active buffs, and it's been around for months. What you're referring to is the 4s killing a marked enemy temporary buff, not the stacks. The stacks will often fail to show.

I'm not 100% sure but I would theorize that it might still work? The timing would be tight though because the buff just lasts for mere seconds, and same with a shard's flight time.

I'm not sure you want Fatshark to give info, because they give the wrong info very often.. Case in point, look up the description of Wildfire, and compare it to what it TRULY does: Whenever an enemy who is affected by at least two stacks of Psyker's Soulblaze dies, Soulblaze is spread to valid targets within a 5m radius. Targets do not receive Soulblaze stacks caused by the talent if they already have 4 stacks or more on them. Valid targets can receive Soulblaze stacks up to a maximum of 4 that are caused by the talent. Daemonhosts are no valid targets. The amount of Soulblaze stacks that is spread depends on the amount of Soulblaze stacks on the dying enemy: If the enemy dies with 1 stack, no spread; if dying with 2 stacks, 2 stacks will spread; if dying with 3 stacks, 3 stacks will spread; if dying with 4 stacks, 4 stacks will spread; if dying with more than 4 stacks, only 4 stacks will spread. The maximum amount of valid targets is 4: If 4 stacks are to be spread and 4 targets are in range, each target receives 1 stack; if 4 stacks are to be spread and 3 targets are in range, 1 target receives 2 stacks while the other 2 targets receive 1 stack each, etc.

Hmm just my amateur opinion, but observing assail feels like it's barely makes a dent in a horde, I would rather cook them all with smite, even if it will take a little longer, and i can cc important targets or control "oh shit" situations pretty well. Please explain the advantage of assail to me. Even nrainburst seem more helpful and it actually packs a punch, assail was always my least favourite, although I love the idea and how it looks, just always felt not very impactful? It would be cool if you could have some mechanic that would allow you to recover the "needles" faster or have an ulimited supply for a short time maybe (with ability use perhaps?)

Smite renders you almost completely immobile compared to Assail (and BB, but that's less relevant). Killing with Smite takes way too long in a high pressure environment, and it takes very little to interrupt a Smite sending the entire horde you're holding back (most of which is likely still alive) right back in your face. Not saying Smite can't have uses, but it definitely doesn't outshine the other Blitzes like you seem to think it does. BB is an extremely viable tool for a bunch of different situations, just don't treat it like a primary weapon. Don't treat any Blitz as a primary weapon really...

I don't know how you're seeing that. Maybe install the kill tracker mod so you can see just how well it's doing. I regularly kill over 50 enemies when I dump all my shards. Smite doesn't just take "a little longer" it takes an eternity. Assail provides a decent ranged option with the right click mode - you can one-tap snipers and many other specials with enough buffs going in a fraction of the time it takes to charge BB. Smite has its place, but its biggest problem is that it puts you in spectator mode while you wait for your team to do all the work. You're not really contributing if your team doesn't suck, and sometimes you're even actively griefing since you're keeping everything spread out instead of conveniently funneling in for easier and safer slaughter, preventing your team from getting their on-dodge buffs from their talents and blessings, which increases the time it takes to kill priority targets, which gives the director more spawn tickets, which cascades into more and more risk and effort that you're subjecting your team to which feedback loops into itself. If your team is competent enough to be playing aurics, they will be rightly upset at you for smiting anything but large mauler/rager/mutant/hound/burster packs - which realistically only happens a handful of times a mission. In contrast, assail is almost always helpful and even when it isn't, it's still a way to build peril while approaching threats which is helpful to you. The reality of darktide is that kills and damage are a much better way to support your team than CC could ever dream of being.

Assail is amazing for hordes and can snipe elites/specials up to 45m away. ofc when you run out of shards it does nothing but with some decent shard managment it can shred hordes like butter. especially Maniac ragers and shotgunners

To add to what others have said, once you get the hang you can intersperse throwing 2-3 shards inbetween melee swings, the shards will keep zipping around, so you're essentially just adding bonus horde thinning for little to no effort, plus you're maintaining mid-high peril which syncs with Warp rider.
