It's not hard. They're just aweful. It's actually pretty easy, even if you go in solo. Just take things seriously, pick the most competitive, skill-dependent heroes like Genji or Widowmaker(as long as you're good with them), not just the ones you find fun like D.va or Winston, and play conservatively.

Dan Trast Watch a pro widowmaker. That's all I'm going to say. All characters in Overwatch have a low skill floor, but Widowmaker and Genji have an OBSCENELY high skill ceiling. They are BY FAR the best characters in the game when mastered and have no counter, allowing them to wipe teams with ease once you get really good.

Torbjorn/bastion is good character to play, if you played Engineer in TF2 Torbjorn is for you

Thanks for all the replies guys! I find it hard to tell if I'm doing good or not. I tend to get way more medals as Torbjorn or symmetra placing turrent than I do playing heroes that actually shoot. IDK if that means turrent heroes typically do more, or if i suck at shooting. Is there some secret to sniping? I see some people get like headshots every two seconds, but I can't hit a barrel from a meter away. Is it just practice? Are there any other general tips? I find my team losing every time on offense, because turrets and snipers and bastion are just all too hard to get over. What is one supposed to do?

+BlackwingKakashi my tip would be to just watch videos on how to counter certain heroes if you are struggling to do that. Also the best thing to do is just practise and accuracy will come over time. Try to find a group to play with if you can and learn from each other's strengths.

David Bruder No he doesn't. Just sit in the back and act like artillery and you get kills. If you know how to aim his granade launcher (which takes little practice to learn) then he is a monster pain in the ass to deal with. I hate him more than Mei or Bastion combined.

michael d Maybe because you have good communication and stuff with your team, and you might actually be unlucky. That or your teammates are really carrying you so the game thinks you're good so it stacks you up against better players than you. I don't actually know any of these could be what the situations like. I know I'm currently 5-1 in my placement matches and I've stomped like 3 I think. I played well, my team overall played well and we were positive to eachother in most games, suggested heroes etc.

The Honest Commentator I know your pain. I used to do terribly in comp. Once I realized that most of the time, it was me that was bad and not my team. I started playing Zarya and Roadhog and supports, using comms for call outs and being nice to me team. I was good enough to carry games, even with bad teams. I'm now in platinum, and it's all because I realized my own faults and limits
