When the PSP came out in March 2005 I tried playing Runescape & of course it didn't work. I only dreamed of being able to play RuneScape on the school bus. Nearly 20 years later RuneScape is not only still around, but can I take it anywhere.

@@funrsguysandmore To be fair, it's a first generation high end headset. It's fairly competitive with headsets that do the same thing (Hololens 2 for example). It's going to be expensive, but I can't even falt apple for the price due to what it does. By generation 4 or 5, it'll be much cheaper due to the technology maturing, and the design and development process becomes more streamlined. Yes it's a $3500 headset, but it's worth it to those that want it.

@@Ruutger I don't even own an apple device. Does Oculus do augmented reality? Because last time I checked, it didn't. Does Oculus work without a PC? Because last time I checked it didn't. This isn't a virtual reality headset, it's a professional grade augmented reality headset that you don't need a separate computer to use. You need to compare it to similar products, such as the Hololens 2, not virtual reality headsets such as the rift, quest, or index. When compared to similar products, this is the one apple product that's actually price competitive with similar products of its tier. I hate Apple's business practices, how they lock down their products, prevent upgradability, overcharge for almost everything, but I will compliment and praise them when they do something right. Yes this product is $3500, but it's not a simple virtual reality headset. The technology and development time required for something like this is insane. Also, this is a first generation product. As time goes on, and economies of scale come into effect, it will get cheaper. By generation 4 or 5, it's going to be incredible. If apple still charges $3500+ for it by then, I'll be just as upset as you, and knowing apple, they probably will. But until then, I will give them their due compliments, as they actually did a good job.

You have been able to play runelite in vr for years now. If you just want to play runelite in vr you just need any normal vr you can hook up to your pc and get a desktop app and boom you have runelite in vr and you can just use your mouse and keyboard. The only thing that the apple one has is you can take it anywhere. Its definitely designed more for work than games for sure.

I can literally already do this with my Valve Index. Heck, I've ALREADY done this with my Valve Index while watching movies in VR chat with some friends. This isn't just an Apple Vision thing, almost any VR headset could do this, especially ones compatible with Steam VR.

As someone with 4.5k hours on VR honestly. The apple vision pro is excessively expensive for what it can do. You can do the same exact thing ((minus going out since its wired)) with a valve index. Which is in the higher end for VR headsets at 1k Quite often I'm playing a game like vr chat and I can just open my desktop while doing anything else for a second if I really want to afk things. But there are better experiences you can have while using a VR ANYTHING. Then runescape honestly lots more engaging/interactive/social platforms/games to use. This is coming from a end game hcim. I just worry most people will misunderstand the cool potential since VR does not translate well to video at all

I've done option 3 with my Oculus Rift S headset many times. it's fun as a novelty but definitely very clunky. Best I've done is some of the duke boss that came out recently but I doubt I could ever do real pvm in the vr space unless it becomes a full dive experience.

Cool video thanks for showing us this product. I guess it is the google glass people were talking about years ago. I hope one day VR runescape comes out. Im sure it will at some point. Its like when we thought playing on our mobile phone wasn't possible. I also think that playing on a big screen or full screen changes the experience alot. Tricks you into feeling like you are actually there in the game more for sure.

Apple it's gonna do their biggest effort with updates to keep it that way, don't try to sound that other companies can help - Here's a bluetooth keyboard that the coolest thing is that it can use for the function Keys My man, don't try to reinvent a keyboard just because it's for the Vision. Jeez, it's like a tutorial for someone who's never used a VR headset. The original Rift can do that(except the eye tracking), woooo... I can guarantee you after an hour, max two, you'll have a migraine from all the weight hanging off your face. BigScreen's VR looks far more suitable for extended play.

Tpapa did a video in 2022 with I think an Oculus. He did a fire cape and killed Zulra with it. For 3500 this thing is nowhere close to polished enough.
