Here you see “prime” Siakam. Very difficult to guard one on one because of his excellent footwork, and he can switch on D. But as the primary scoring option he has trouble scoring over double teams (unlike Kawhi) and was miscast as the number 1 scorer in the next 4 years in Toronto. That’s why people think he’s overrated even though he’s not. Even in Indiana he’s too much of a number 1 scorer and you still won’t see the best version of him. He’s the league’s best two-way “number 2” because of his versatile and complimentary game, but as a number 1 he is not the most efficient scorer.
@AsianDoug6 ай бұрын
He was best as a #2/3. I don't really consider him a traditional #2 simply because of the amount of depth this team had. Any given night the Raps had 4-5 other guys who could give them 20pts, unlike say a team like the 2019 Bucks where Middleton was the clear #2. Siakam played best when he could get his buckets in transition, or driving to the rim when defenders got pulled to Kawhi/Lowry/Gasol.

Best part of this series was the Leonard 4 bounce shot went in and when the teams were going back to the locker rooms, you see Joel Embid crying. Was worth it because that's what you get for showboating. The 76ers have been terrible since 2000 (Allen Iverson's era) the last time they were in the ECF. 24 years ago and I am not convinced with the addition of Paul George are they going anywhere. They are not championship material like Boston is. The narrative is that certain teams will never win a title and Philadelphia is one of them. It happens in every sport.
@KyleLowryRaptorsGOAT5 ай бұрын
theyre not gonna do anything even with Paul George. George doesnt have what it takes to win. He said it himself; he doesnt feel pressure to perform in crucial games because he's felt less pressure as he has gotten older. Don't listen to the casuals who think the Sixers have any chance at winning. I dont have them beating New York or Boston, or even a 5 seed team like the Cavs or Bucks. Giannis will destroy the Sixers. It feels just like the addition of Harden all over again in Philadelphia; adding an aging veteran who is far from the player he used to be

This truly was a legendary series. Even as a Raps fan I have to admit, that 76ers team was LEGIT and easily would've been title contenders and probably favourites to go to the Finals, if they won. The fact that they screwed up this team is so disappointing, but also cathartic because - F Embiid :D . The big time difference in this series was that the Raps' best players were battle tested veterans like Lowry, Leonard, Gasol, Ibaka, Green, with a sprinkling of youth in Siakam, Van Vleet, Powell. 2 of the top 3 76ers at the time in Simmons and Embiid were still relatively young and unproven and it was largely the difference in the series.

IMO if og was healthy for these playoffs raps would’ve taken it in 5 or 6 games

1 year trial Kawhi Leonard and then the trial period ended. We still get Kawhi Leonard, but with limited features.
