This book is inspiring. It has a great 80s violence feel, and truly lives up to "anyone can make a comic". Comics like this push me to keep working on my own.

Since you put this under the microscope, can we get Fukitor for a future episode?

The "A jeep" and "It's a ninja" lines remind me of Silent Hill 3, when you're at the bakery and press X to interact with the bread and Heather says: "It's bread". It was always hilarious!

Marra's style was perfect for the ESPN 30 for 30 he did about Elvis playing badminton. It's called "When The King Held Court", and you can check it out on his website.

As a devout Kayfaber since the beginning I take your advice on comics as gospel, and after the first “Outlaw” comics episode I had to track down ALL the ones you showed. Ben Marra’s were so appealing to me I emailed his site asking if the original Traditional Comics floppies were still available and he wrote me back right away, telling me they weren’t and I should just order the collections from Fanta, which I did. It was so nice to correspond with the guy for a few days, he’s really nice! And when I got the OMWOT book I read it in the van when I was on tour with my band and I kept laughing out loud SO hard the entire time!!! Also a little FYI to other Kayfabers who may not know: the majority of the first chunk of episodes on the Power Comics KZbin channel feature Ben analyzing a bunch of old rad Power Comics from the 80’s with Evan and Gabe, and you can really tell what a true passion this guy has for the “singular vision” of these obscure teenage comic makers that inspire this style!

As soon as I read this book I had to write Ben Marra to tell him how much I love it. To my surprise he wrote me back and was such a kind and gracious man I was thrown off a bit. He made me a fan for life and I read all his comics. He's a true master of his craft

This is amazing! I was laughing so hard. But I do respect the work put into this and the illustrations. I have to ask if you have ever come across Harry the Cop? It was a Slave Labor Graphics from 1992. I don't know if its worth an episode but definitely worth checking out for when it had come out and where we're at with the history of racism and the police force.
