The real issue is the lack of experienced raid leads. Most have left the game and parse requirements become the default because of that gap in knowledge.

Thank you!!!! All of what you said here does need to brought up way more than it does. It was around 4 years ago that I reached a high enough level and started moving into Vet dungeons and trials. Some guild mates helped me set up my bars and what the rotation should go and I was confused. Never liked how it rarely translated into what I should have slotted when I'm in the actual Trial. I eventually found other guilds and groups that knew a lot more about the game. They explained pretty much what you said in the video, it's to get an idea of how well I'm doing at just doing damage. I'm on PS5 and last few patches I've had an average of 100k. Sure It's not the 120k people have been posting but a lot of the time the people who hit those big dummy numbers don't see a mechanic(that they know is coming) and die. I've been asked plenty of times to join runs just because the raid leaders know that I have good raid awareness. Maybe that could be a topic for a future video. May the Hist guide you.

Great video! Drizzy here (just saying that so you can recognize that I have some understanding of what I'm talking about) I disagree on one point kind of, "you only have to max out on one class" I understand what you're trying to say I'd just insert "you have the potential to max out on all" as a magplar main, when I switched over to DK it took me some practice and research and talking with others to grasp the skill priorities of the class In order to hit max parse stats. (Not as much as inital magplar parse progression) what I'm trying to say is, just cause you hit max parse doesn't mean that transitions immediately over to different classes. When i moved to DK I dropped roughly 30% dps on the dummy, you have to learn how to accommodate your class. Which takes practice, research to grasp the understanding. But the potential is there, because you've done it.

I'm glad ya brought up console players Eigh1 Puppies. While I play on PC, I do use a controller. It's the price one might pay after playing on consoles for an extended number of years. Anyway, it is difficult to bar swap effectively and efficiently with a controller given a controller layout. We have to take our left thumb off the left stick and press the left D-Pad button in a split second. In that split second, we stop moving. I think we both know a lot of shit can happen in that split second. As far as parse requirements go, I'm on the fence about this practice. On the one hand, parse requirements feel like applying for a job to me. On the other hand, they can be used as something to aspire towards. I play ESO for the fun of it. I already know my class, the Necromancer, as I've been playing one for years consistently. Hell I don't even entertain the idea of other classes anymore. Given my build, I can typically do around 56K DPS in real fights. What's more is I can stay alive in even the toughest vet dungeons to keep doing that damage. Looking at you vet Graven Deep and Scrivenir's Hall.

Awesome as always, Red Lips👏👏👏 I remember the best raid lead i got till today, a guy that gave 9 people, myself included, the vet title on Hel Ra hard mode, Sunspire and Kyne's. Each one in one run, knowing how to explaing and ask actions, and had the patience for that. An unforgatable night that ended with the sun rising on my window. But the truth is that is hard to find people like that guy, with that knowledge and, above all, patience and believing that the group was capable of doing it. And no parse was required, by the way. And i can garantee that if you know how to play, you can do any vet trial with 80k dps without dying, at least. I did it and i am an average, but commited, player.

My only qualm with this is that often the parses I find have different sets on the dummy than what I'd use in content and I don't have resources for just parsing. However, I offset that by doing research on how x set(s) are contributing and how much what I'm wearing is contributing.
@eigh1puppies3 күн бұрын
The problem, is that the dummy “sets” will be the best option for st fights that mimic the dummy. The next issue to maybe talk about is how people few gear sets in eso. There is no such thing as a true one size fits all, there are sets good for certain situations, and the dummy is a fight worth optimizing for like any other fight in the gamr
@Leaded_Quinn3 күн бұрын
@eigh1puppies I agree with the original comment. 90% of the time, when I'm shy of the pros, it's because I'm not wearing HS for the parse because I have a job and a family and simply am not interested in testing how much damage I could possibly do in the best case scenario. I have enough time to perfect my actual, in-content build and rotation and I think most players are probably like that. I appreciate your videos with static rotations because so many dps die while staring at their cooldowns. Still, I meet folks in game who insist that an HS/Rele parse is the bees knees. That's like never doing legs in the gym but bragging about your bench press, right? I would love to see some of your parses with gear and rotations better suited to portal mechanics where movement and self healing are required. It would be good to see what kind of ceilings exist from the pros on more applicable dummy scenarios. Appreciate the videos, keep.em coming!!!
@eigh1puppies3 күн бұрын
@ like I tried to point out in the video, if you don’t max a dummy parse at least once, you really don’t have a chance at hitting a ceiling in content. The dummy teaches fundamentals, and if you can’t master the fundamentals, you surely won’t do great damage in real content. Highland is a crafted gear set luckily, and while you don’t need it, it’s just way easier to gauge your actual performance by comparing your numbers to the actual ceiling. And like any prog in the game, if you can max the dummy one time, you never really have to do it again: you’ve done it, the same way you try to clear a raid one time it’s 10x easier each time you do it after. If you don’t have an interest in doing difficult endgame content, no worries, but if you do, it’s a necessity. I made a super detailed guide for dealing damage in vLC actually that has no views, go watch 20 minutes of it and I think this comment will make a bit more sense 😉

Arcs and maybe NBs are different but Plar Sorc and DK really benefit from that extra pen in uncomped play. If weapon/sp around 50k and Crit% around 44-50%, pen at 7779 is ideal for random vet pug runs with medium armor. If you drink spell/weapon potions around 53k sp/wp dmg. But if you play in the same group all the time you can have congruent sets. Im not sure why you would want to run light armor comp but you could. I run exploiter instead of force of nature. First, the concept of a '120k parser who somehow magically fails to do mechanics and is therefore somehow less important than a mechanics-god who only manages 90k'. Second, the people who continues to argue that using exploiter CP on a dummy is somehow 'cheese' and certain sets have, in their opinion, no 'raid utility' outside of padding dummy numbers.

I really liked how you clarified this as its a misunderstanding I think so many fall into (myself originally too!). The biggest issue I have seen with this though is many times some of my team’s hardest hitters tend to end up on the floor more than others because they over focus on damage. If we are under speed run time and are not pushing score I wish people would focus more on staying alive to actually get the trifecta completed instead of committing to saving 2 seconds and needing us to reset anyway because they died.
@eigh1puppies2 күн бұрын
I think there’s a time and place. The time to progress mechs and die for the sake of doing damage is while you’re learning: learn what you can and can’t get away with mechanically for the sake of damage while you’re progging, but if you’re on death resets for example, play your life!

No, a combat dummy measures DPS only (not rotation or class understanding). This gives an accurate (not perfect OBVIOUSLY) forecast range to the potential dmg a player will do . Think of it like a Marine at target practice. Dps is not an indication of total game skill (tgs) Over the past few years zos has massively increased the dps , while simultaneously players irl capabilities have equally dropped. On na Xbox....trials are now lead by people who would have been accurately been described as noob a few years ago. A few years ago this state im describing was already in existence, however players today are SO SO terrible compared to the past the is NO comparison. Hence why dps is 3 to 4 times greater than past ESO. Recent examples: vhrc (first boss, rainbow method). i say "please use as little movement as possible, movement is causing the whirlwind dmg attacks, stop moving its going to kill people". Trial captain: " oh no, we learned in "something garbled " never stop moving"! Me : no just please stop moving constantly on purpose " Captain"no that doesn't work lol" Then puts me in mute. Non vet Cloudrest 0 (as easy as they can make a trial). Captain:" im not starting till we have a downstairs team" .....then goes in and "pull simoja (sp)" around in circles.... 🤣 As dps and healers try to run in circles back and forth to stay on her tail." What im saying is this...." people are stupid."..even the people reading this, and there was a time due to many forces education and progression were "real things" in ESO. A lot of people who learned this left, the brain drain cant be replaced with people who just watched a KZbin video.... along with zos's increases to dps and to ease the game..there is no coincision between dps and actual game playing skill (gps). The result is a changing of the guard by which the blind are now leading the blind lowering the bar for all. A lack of awareness of this manifestation continues the downward trend. On Xbox na people leading trials this year would have been kicked from group 4 years ago.
@lyladenise11 сағат бұрын
Sadly, parse scores have now become a discrimination tool in "Normal" trials which are supposed to be for beginners! Want to know why trials are losing players just ask anyone that has been booted from a "Normal" trials when they are trying to learn how to do trials. It will take some time for me to be able to do even VMA without a death with higher CP than i was. Doing 100k dps on a dummy was never my thing, as i was always a support dps. Revive if needed, burst if needed. I didn't lack dps, but other were better so i was a support dps mag Templar as it was the easiest to use and not run out of resources and/or die. Lots has changed in the game since i left but so far i enjoy it again.

The trend I've seen over the past few years is... someone on KZbin posts a parse on pc then that # or slightly less is the new # required to get into a trial. Had this discussion with a GM where he listed every trial and the lowest requirement was 110k for crag trials. And it just went up from there. Nevermind that up until VRG came out, very few people were hitting 100k. The lazy raid lead as you say is the perfect label these days because everyone wants the highest dps #'s so they can either skip all mechanics instead of learning them OR so the person setting the requirements can low-key get carried through it.

Good night (Cuz is night in my country). My answer to this question: IF YOU WANNA DO AND/OR GET THOSE FANCY AND WACKO DUNGEONS AND TRIAL VET ACHIEVMENTS YES, YOU NEED 101% A HIGH PARSING DPS. A low DPS is just a pain in the Azandar in a coordinated end game vet achievment group. But if you are okay doing just normal activities in trials and dlc dungeons. A WHOLE NOT. YOU DON'T NEED CARE ABOUT PARSING AT ALL. I am a low dps parser, but i can run (solo or grouped) any TESO normal endgame alone, almost all base vet dungeons, and some trial first bosses. I can't go far in trials cuz ZoS hate players going solo in "endgame content". That's why ZoS solution is: 1. Pantagruelic health bars in endgame bosses and mobs, 2. One shoot mechs against clock (portals, odd enrages, odd ads). I love TESO and i accept that state of endgame to date. I will never get those fancy vet endgame trial mounts, skins or those perfected sets (i will not pay a carry in my life). But few perfected parsers barely can survive a vet base dungeon. The IA show majority of high dps parsers cannot run solo or in twosomes. They need those big heals and big taunts cuz bosses and mobs give them ecoansiety. You can't get all in this life. Some wins and some loose.

Speaking from personal experience in real fight your rotation will change according to the mechanics you are facing such as you timing to use spam able or reapply your dots but, yeah I played this game enough to know that the fundamental of rotations is not that different you master 1 class you pretty much understand how to retrace your step on other classes. Anyway pretty good video. Just want to tell you this I watch your stamina necromancer video a lot for rotations practice keep up the good work man. waiting for you next video

Truly i dont agree with parsing at all what i care about is your ability to stay alive and can do some decent damage if you can stay alive, do damage and support your team thats all you need parseing high numbers is just about skipping mechanics which if you ask me is a fundamental part of the game and what makes it a challenge/fun so why work so hard to skip it just get good at the mechanic

Agreed… parsing is great for practicing weaving, tracking timers, and learning a class while you develop the muscle memory to get the fundamentals down. Once I got to a certain level, parsing just wasn’t something I cared to do anymore. I’d much rather apply that knowledge to actual fights in real content, rather than playing the “who’s bigger” game in a crit battle on the dummy. Also agree that gauging skill level on a parse alone might be fine for newer teams doing the older content because those players won’t have the pov’s to show for themselves, and quite frankly raid leads for those beginner teams probably won’t know what to look for in a good pov anyway, so I can totally see parse requirements holding more weight for that level of group. I also agree that as you progress as a player and start taking on more difficult content (think pb and trials after that) that a great parse alone won’t get you very far in that environment. I’ve seen dummy humpers flop in content, and as a raid lead this is where povs hold more weight than just a parse when it comes to picking players, giving feedback, etc.

Parsing should be done using what set and CP you will roll with not some parsing setup, also knowing mechanics outweigh knowing how to play dance dance revolution 😂😂😂
@eigh1puppies3 күн бұрын
@@fil-amphilippines5157 I think you missed the point of the video unfortunately :/ There’s no point in parsing in the “setup you’ll roll with” because it will not effectively measure the damage you’re actually going to do. A small argument to made for the sake of practice maybe, but that argument is largely irrelevant in terms of setup. You should parse to learn how to do damage, and to gauge how good of an understanding you have, you should use the parse dummy setups.

First thing I do with new players is get them all to turn off dps share / display in hodor, focus on mechs, cpm etc instead, clear is more important than top parse.

This is a rather multifaceted issue for players in eso. I think parts 2 and 3 are the biggest crux for the game- especially new players. Parsing is important for learning the game’s combat mechs, but it can feel like a chore to do in game. High level success (contrary to what Zos would like you to think) isn’t really achievable for everyone. There are very real physical and mental limitations that prevent many good players from ever being in that top percentage of damage. In the 7 years I played I never moved beyond a certain aptitude because I don’t possess the skill set to. Though I loved the game, eventually this became a point of contention in being shut out of content I was paying for. With strict dummy parse requirements and no tolerance for those learning the fight, end game achievements were shut out for many who, with a bit of support and patience, may have become solid players. Damage is king in eso and you either step up or step out. The fallout of this mindset was it actually became harder to fill raids consistently and achieve goals. When everyone needs to be pulling their weight equally and not wasting anyone’s time what are you left to do then? Spend all your time parsing, running with lower skill level teams that don’t teach you anything, or hopefully pugging into a mid level group/joining a guild that has the patience and leadership to teach you. I left the game about a year ago and from what I can gather from content creators, things have not gotten any better for end game. I would have loved to keep playing but I reached the point where the game became series of diminishing returns. 😢 Thank you for continuing to fight the good fight for new players. I appreciate that there are those like you still willing and able to help and bring in aspiring end players. I sincerely hope Zos can do more to support your efforts. ❤️

@@AI_TrashPanda I also think someone who can do mechs but can’t do damage is useless 😅 A players goal should be to do both, not one or the other. A good DD can do perfect damage without ever sacrificing their rotation for a mechanic, in fact, being able to plan your damage around mechanics is also the mark of a good mechanical player.
