This is great information - thank you so much. I will definitely apply to my piano playing. Is it possible if you could do a video for minor keys using the same chord techniques.

Beautiful lesson. I'm practicing every day. My biggest take-home from this was your closing remarks - to stretch the mind after which the hands will follow and that music is a life-long journey. Enjoying every minute of it. Thank you.

I know I'm a beginner, but there is just something magical about finding inversions that makes me go, '"YA!" when i stumble on them. This vid really helps ID them! Thank you!!

Found this really helpful and in fact it has helped me play LEAN ON ME especially those inversions....brilliant pianist with such a knowledge

It's also given my chards such a different sound, using the play the notes in different positions...really enjoy what you reach and is driving me to build my music theory

Great lesson, I'd love a breakdown of Ray charles - rev james Cleveland. "What kind of man is this." If possible. What James Cleveland was doing on the low side of the piano really sounded great, and of course ray did too

Really nice! I'd love a demonstration of how to play "Passacaglia" by Handel Halvorsen if it hasn't been done already. A KZbinr named Kassia played it. Such a simple, but beautiful piece. 😊🎶🎹

So slash chords can be played with one hand simply by inverting the main chord so that the lowest note matches the base note?
@erskinehawkins34192 жыл бұрын
If I’m understanding your question correctly then technically you are correct. BUT Let’s say we’re playing a C triad and we move the C up To the top. If we’re only playing this with one hand, then we technically just have a C in first inversion. The slash part comes in when the bass note is distinctively different from the chord
@lawrencetaylor41012 жыл бұрын
Merci beaucoup for this. BTW do you have larger hands on your Store? I'd love to have personalized large Pianote hands. Or I should have looked into the smaller keyboard, Steinbühler started them.

if I play the chord C/G, it means that the bass note is now G, But if i accompany it with a bass instrument, do i play the root note C or the bass note G?
@erskinehawkins34192 жыл бұрын
I would still play the G note. Playing a C (depending on the register) while the bass player is playing a G could muddy up the actual intended root
