As a PSA: using staff of protection when you already have a shield up only refreshes the shield duration and not the shield HP. If your timer is low, just crouch to make sure enemies aren’t around and wait for it to run out before refreshing.

finally someone who knows what theyre fucking talking about when it comes to magic in the ashlands also the Dundr has one good use and that is in the situations where the mobs are getting too close you can shoot it and it has crazy knock back so it might save your life
@0verpwned6 ай бұрын
It also does critical damage to morgens, but even then it would probably be better to just lure it into your grove of tendrils and hit it with the frost staff. Getting close enough to a morgen to land every hit is dangerous, especially the 1 and 2 star variants.

Dundr is my morgen and valkyrie killer (staff of fracturing is also good agains valks). Bait attack, jump towards it and blast it. Also dead raiser lvl 4 summons 4 skeletons, that properly shielded make for a pretty solid frontline to spam vines/fireballs. They can even solo marksmans/twitchers/ go toe to toe against warriors with decent bloodmagic

I opted to switch the hood of embla out for the flametal helmet. Because neither one affects you movement speed and the hood gives the least amount of eitr regen. 30% seems like a lot until you realise base eitr regen is already 100%. Which means that you go from 230% to 200%, which is only 13% less. I can hardly tell in my gameplay. What I do notice is the difference in armor.
@FG-sc5rp6 ай бұрын
If you are rested, you will have 330% regen with embla hood and 300% without. So even less of a difference.
@blo59806 ай бұрын
@@FG-sc5rpyes, if you drink the lingering etir potion, the difference become even less pronounced.
@FG-sc5rp6 ай бұрын
@@blo5980 I don't quite understand how the lingering eitr (and stamina and health) potions work. Normally, all positive buffs are additive, so 100% base regen + 100% rested + 100% queen power + 130% full embla set results in 430% eitr regen. Does the +25% lingering eitr get added or multiplied onto that value? If added, the lingering eitr is pretty much useless. If multiplied, eitr regen of the hood also gets increased by 25%.

the ahsland food actually has 4 eitr regen per second vs 3 from the seeker aspic, it may not seem a lot but you'll notice if you only use 2 eitr foods. Also I've using the dundr with the blood shield to parry attacks and one shot most enemies, the new fire staff is good in those cases too. Green staff for the win

@@ProfessionalMage You're right - you can easily solo Fader with the trolls. What I meant is I don't find them very useful for anything other than a boss or sieging. Having them up while exploring just doesn't do much. But the weapon does have its uses. What would be really cool is a video showing how to get the Staff of the Wild (which OFC is the best overall) -- how to siege a fortress and farm for Jade before you have the staff. My favorite thing about this video is you're telling people how to play the way I've been playing since mistlands lol The only thing different I do is I eat 2 magic food and one stam specifically for the stam struggles. I also jump on the rocks which makes them single file up there to get me then I just jump off and they have to single file back down. It gives you a moment to breathe and recover some magic pool if you find yourself in a pinch. Great video tho, I'm glad people are telling the real story and not "fear da cape" loi

my current viking is named "RAID BOSS" because that is how i have played the game from the start, i killed eikthyr with an inventory of spears and from that day on, i have played with almost a full inventory of death I agree that mage is incredibly OP in the current sandbox, but i like to play a hybrid, i use 2 eitr food and 1 stamina food, the roasted crust pie. the shotgun he mentioned does suck, its very underwhelming, however it can be strong against enemies weak to lightning, or trash mobs, it is not the best inside of ashlands, but outside is a different story. The way i play, when i run low on eitr, i switch to stamina, and vice versa, so the shotgun is actually good for me when im low stamina and switch over to eitr weapons, i use shield, charge the shotgun and its very, very effective against trash mobs, in a similar way to an atgeir's middle mouse ability. i dont always carry it, but its something to consider

When i went to ashland o used fenris armour, i found it better than +100% eitir regen. It also offsets feather cape debuff and allows you to maneuver around hordes much better. I use queen's buff and potions to give me mana regen. When you have embla set its better to switch to it, but fenris is really good tho.

So it is stupid if someone says that this is "using glitches or bugs". I say no, having specialized training is the bread and butter in real life as well.

I'm sorry but, no, leveling Elemental and especially Blood Magic, is no simple task - except if you use /raiseskill of course. I've been setting up a "magic farm", with a Greydwarf spawner with which my skeletons have fun, while I chain-shoot ice to a Stone Golem I brought down from the mountain there. Blood Magic increases soooo slowly, and past a certain skill I would say 80, it takes AGES to grind a single level. And every time you die (and you WILL die in Ashlands) you loose 5% of your precious skill points. Litterally 2-3 hours to get from 95 to 100 that you'd loose in one death! Farming magic skills becomes so tedious at some point, that if you want to keep playing legit without devcommands, you oughta be content with 50-70 in your magic skills. Which makes the shooting of Ashlands mobs way less of a health ballad than your video shows. In mage legit solo mode, IMHO Skeletons are mandatory (good luck dealing with a Morgen without them "tanking"), bubble needs to be refreshed as soon as it is broken or expired, and you also need to learn about mob resistances - e.g. all Charred have 75% resist fire, get closer and use ice or dundr. Here you manage to 3-shoot a warrior with fireballs and with 100 in Elemental Magic, but as I say this is unrealistic in legit play, it will just not work. Anyway, Ashland nerf incoming, it'll be all over soon :)
@diegocaru5 ай бұрын
I completely agree with you, I've died so much that my blood magic is around 15, lol, and elemental 25 or so, I tried to do the afk farming strat and got like 4 levels in an hour, it's really slow
