Honestly, even though it's fun to watch these decks, most of them don't work in that piece of hell we call mid-ladder simply because mid-ladder players have to deal with troll toxic decks and a matchmaking algorithm that ensures you get AT LEAST 50% of hard counters if there's no gold in your nickname. I myself have played a couple of seasons with a season pass and it makes so much difference when it comes to matchmaking... it's a shame, which is why I decided not to give Supercell another dime ever. If there's a free to play option, it should be at least in equal ground for everyone in terms of matchmaking. Want evidence? Be a f2p player, when you get around 4.5k+ trophies, start to change your deck to different archetypes and see how the decks you face will be way different from the previous ones. Funny how they immediately start to follow a new pattern. Then get a season pass or 2 in a row and see how more "random" your matches will appear to be. The difference in card levels is enough of a punishment for not cashing in. Not to mention stupid changes like the recent update, which solves minor problems but leaves the biggest one behind: GOLD... I've been sitting on top of all cards "collected" but still need gold to upgrade over 60 of them to MAX, and that's after playing CR since day 1!
