What’s your favorite summer bass fishing technique?

Nathan My summertime favorite is a jointed rapala (size 5) fished in your shady spots. It is high float. If you give it a short snap, it vibrates and comes back up. You can kill it and it will stop. Isolated lily pads and stumps work well too.

I follow a number of fishing programs but I do find yours one of the most “down-to-earth”, reasonable, practical, and useful of my select group. Continue the good work. I appreciate your efforts. Charles Sullivan, Little Rock, Ar.

You're so helpful. I really wish I could buy you a beer, fish with you, and become your fishing friend.

Thanks Nathan. I gotta go with the swim jig. I run it right through cover, I can swim it on top or fish it like a jig. It covers deep, shallow, almost surface plus vertical and horizontal.

Thank you for not putting an intro in your videos. I get so tired of having to sit through those on other channels. 👍

Next time try neko rigging the fluke and adding a 1/32 nail weight in the nose of the fluke 😉

I'm a bank angler and catching bass on a frog is difficult. I have a little success right before dark casting along the bank. My favorite summertime techniques are plastic stick baits, worms & lizard's. The public lake I fish is heavy weeds. This year my catches have gone way up since I started throwing larger plastics weightless. When that's not working I'll slip sinker with nothing heavier than an 1/8 ounce and aim for pockets in the weed beds.

What if you're not fishing offshore and you are strictly fishing from the bank? Do you use the same kind of technique? I feel like when I'm fishing from the bank and there's a lot of shaded areas from trees overhanging or just a lot of vegetation around the edges, I'll need a clear line of sight so that I don't cast into anything and snag. And then I can just jump the frogs or whatever weedless lure (mostly the soft plastic kind) right through those areas. I've only really had luck though with lily pads more so than really grassy areas because somehow I still get hung up. I'm not using 65 lb braid mind you, but I don't know how to say it it just gets hung up and tangles too easily. Now I'm also (and I'm not trying to initiate any type of sympathy here) somewhat disabled being that I've had a recent back operation, a recent hip replacement operation, and I need another hip replacement. But the recuperation was pretty good I'm better off than I was now because my back got fixed a little, and my left hip got fixed and that really is helping things out. I'm getting to some spots on ponds that are fairly flat on the top (outside of the water) and I'll use my walker like a beach cart and put on my rods tackle box that type of thing on top of it and then maybe have a few things inside the seat. But I can't really get to the places too well that I know probably hold fish, just because of how limited I am right now. I don't want to get into a big thing here but I just wanted to know if there were any ways you can tell me or help me. Thanks for what you do I appreciate it God bless!

Just casting parallel with the bank would be your best bet!

Rippin mouths off of bass lol, I never understood why people set so hard, I have zero problems with an easy set and fighting the fish for a minute. We aren’t in a bass tournament lol.
