Tempest is OP not because tempest itself is OP, but because damage enchants make lower pip hits OP. Lightning bats does 245-285 damage for 2 pips, but enchanted it does 545-585. That's basically a doubling of damage. On the other hand, storm owl does 1,330-1,470 unenchanted and 1,630-1,770 enchanted, which is obviously less than double. This makes it so that per pip, enchanted low pip tempests are way more powerful than high pip tempests, which is bad because the main benefit of tempest is you can AOE even at low pips. Given the damage-per-pip rules that were introduced in the spell audits, tempest is actually underpowered (it should actually do ~95 per pip).

I wish Medusa had a stun pierce embedded on the spell card before stunning. Wouldn’t mind if damage gets reduced after the change.. THEN it makes sense to use. There’s no point to use Medusa when the boss stun immune

Rather than nerfing spells, I think its better to focus on buffing spells to be at the same power as stronger spells, if you keep trying to nerf things there will always be a imbalance but if you try and buff things to a already set standard, many spells would be more interesting to use, in pve the dev's really gotta consider if a player would actually chose to use the utility over a spell that just does more damage. High damage spells may be "overpowered" but I think questing could be much more interesting if there were more viable options that are in their own right "overpowered". Something id like to point out to support this is life's lemuria spell, if they made the utility apply before the hit actually happened, I would consider the utility to be viable and consider using a absorb to get the damage boost on the hit that I am about to use.

My biggest problem with orthrus actually doesn't come from orthrus itself, but from the fact that myth never gets a very viable non-shadow single target spell until calendar (which is very costly) and yaga which is really late-game. This makes myth gameplay really stale if you use spells purely based on efficiency (I go out of my way to use technically weaker spells just for fun tbh)

Am I the only one who thinks the classes in Pirate101 are MUCH more balanced than the Wizard101 schools? They did close to a perfect job in Pirate101 in my opinion. I know most people like wiz more, but I’ll keep singing my praises for Pirate.

Also there are only 5 schools, so I think it’s easier to manage them to keep them balanced (and ofc they did a better job than with wiz, like you said). Although swashbuckler is so good…it was my first max pirate and I would literally cloak first round and win within the next attacks I do

I was really surprised by death but honestly have to agree with you. I think base feint should probably be around 60 but still be able to stack the way they do. Bad Juju could maybe just do minus 80 or so

Shameless judgment spammer here lol. I've specced for power pip chance (close to 70% at level 47) specifically for judgment, because dropping a crap ton of damage on turn 1 is really nice.

Juju should just do % health like it is in PvP, but less than 25%. Probably like 10% Max health or remaining health. If they raise the base to 700, it would only make it worse at low levels, % health would nerf it evenly around the board

I’m pretty sure the damage is so high for nested fury because it’s determined using the damage/pip scales of ice, fire and storm schools kind of like hydra. No need for a nerf when it nerfs itself 1/3 of the time imo

Rat spin and SoF, when enchanted, they have a very similar dmg output to the dragoon aoe spells. Which I don't think is bad due to the limited means of getting them and later in the game they are not that much different than the dragoon aoe. Upgrades would make it stronger but again that is time and money. Feint, while I agree its a tad strong, is equivalent to around 2 blades. I think the trap on ourselves should be stronger, but the trap on the enemy stay the same.

I was thinking maybe, for Ice, it could be tower shield…but I don’t know that it should be less than a 40% shield, so probably not worth it to reduce the protection. And it would probably primarily affect lower level wizards anyway, since they’re more likely to use it. For Death, I wasn’t surprised to see feint come up. But as a solo player, I’d rather it not get lowered to +60%, especially if it keeps the +30% on oneself. Making it harder, or impossible (say, by removing it from some gear), to feint stack so much sounds like a better idea to me. YMMV.

A feint rework where you do 50 to enemy /50 to yourself but spend no pips I think would be nice. The idea of feint is you're putting yourself in danger but the AI is never gonna be smart enough to take advantage of that. I think that the idea is that they want you to play around the idea of a debuff with their own trap but the 30% often gets either not hit at all or triggered by a weak spell, given death's insane healback potential I don't even think this would be even that much of a nerf

I don't think healing is that good cause you'd only use it for hard bosses that cheat/do damage and in those fights ur better off juju spamming the enemy and/or following the strategy to defeat the boss. Fights like aphro/malistare in darkmoor and the hall of heros (Final fight in lemuria) have a specific strategy to use a certain spell at a certain time and most of the time u don't need a healer because your optimizing ur time and planning everything. Orthrus imo isn't that broken cause it only does dmg and typically if a spell has a extra effect it'll do lower dmg to balance it out, also myth is the 3rd hardest hitting school

I don't know I personally don't like immolate (pretty sure that's the card) I don't think the damage is worth hitting yourself, I think if you're hitting yourself you gotta get a blade out of it or something, like death pact

Actually I wouldn't say that because once you start using enchantments, brimstone revenant becomes objectively better than immolate due to half the enchant going towards the self hit

I think the solution to tempest is that it needs to be unlocked much later. Maybe having storm wyvern early on could be a good substitution (like an un-enchanted dragoon one).

What about making feint exclusive to death so it will have similar restriction to tempest . Yes its op but you can only have it as a none tc deck card if you commit to the death school as your primary school.

@@KaiserNoah I agree but there are also a lot of players who don’t have max wizards. For example my highest lvl wiz is 70 and he is my first wiz When I did a run in water works everyone there including me were using their highest lvl wiz which were all around lvl 60 and the life was talking about how he was looking at rat spin and how hard it is to get everything to craft it

@@KaiserNoah yea I completely agree once you get that one max level every other character becomes easier from being able to do pets faster and easier , already have farms going and already a lot of tc monstrous etc to move over . When I started another wiz even though I was only lvl 60 I was able to progress a lot faster than my first wiz

@@KaiserNoah sorry if anything I have said came off as rude but it feels like when anyone talks about game difficulty they always bring up having a max wiz that can do all of the difficult parts of the game and don’t talk about the difficulty of soloing with a brand new wiz.(feel this way because I’m in college and for the first wiz did not have the time to sit and grind with my limited time to be able to play)

Fire shield->Immolate is pretty good, but you get Phoenix quickly enough to replace it so you only really use that strat for Marleybone

Most Op spell is heck hound with solar surge. A 12 pip spell would add 600 damage, with a 200% multiplier from incindiate. This spell combo will OHKO any player with 50% pierce.

I did Darkmoor, LIKE allll of Darkmoor basically on the scald strat to help someone. Threw a mass feint in there with another teammate and it was absolutely cracked. The whole thing was done in barely an hour.

What would your ideas be if wiz would go make worlds per school? Maybe like a cult/rising power/an assembly of just one school but different for each school with their own world? Like with death someone's making an undead army and gathered a bunch of death mercenaries on a world to take over the spiral, or fire school which is militaristic due to them having cards like fire elf, ffa, and nott sub. Maybe certain schools are even facing each other and it can't work since each school can defeat the other and us the wiz is the tie breaker/stopper between the fued or new powers. Wiz could tie in history like ww1 or ww2 with aliiance and axis powers as in this case no school could defeat the rest. Perhaps some of these schools are just in worlds already known but not fully explored (secretness). It would also bring more attention to old worlds. They could release it as 2 worlds per update which are competing with each other in a war state and it'll lead to the next 2 and so on with the final world being something like balance maybe which tries to create peace (like air Nation in avatar) and dwindled down too small (maybe attacked by fire school ;) 🤷

ngl fire is trash so far as i’ve been leveling thru avalon/azteca; double bladed double feinted and aura fire dragon doing less than 12K (110% damage). Trash 7 pip.

Lmao this list is SO forced. Fire You literally have to have the decathlon deck to make that strategy viable, plus one if not both players has to have access to the Dalia falmea hat, and either be fire or have a fire mastery. There are so many set backs to that strategy that it’s rarely even used. How is it broken? Storm Damage is literally their entire game, so to complain that tempest does too much damage is foolish. It’s broken because it’s useful???? Myth Ortharus is perfectly fine at 700dmg. Fire dragon does way more AND it’s an over time, Storm lord hits for almost the same amount, 690 I think? AND it stuns, so you’re calling a 10 damage increase but the loss of what is an incredibly important utility, stuns, broken?? Like yeah maybe bosses have stun resist, but do You know how much time a stun saves You during boss fights? That’s such an underrated element of storms ability to shear so fast. Balance How is judgement anywhere NEAR broken😭😭 just compare it to hydra for the same amount of pips, they’re practically identical, plus hydra has the utility of hitting 3x in one round. It’s a flat damage dealing spell, nothing broken about it what so ever. Life How the hell are You complaining about healing in PVE, like if this was pvp fair enough but pve for goodness sakes😭 1. You HARDLY have to heal anyways, only in extremely difficult boss fights, and if we’re honest, a well drilled team will barely ever have to heal. 2. Healing is their entire game!! If healing matches the damage output per pip, it would make life massively redundant, they need to be able to heal faster than someone could lay down damage, that’s the point, they’re entire class revolves around healing. And then to call Rat spin broken, I mean I guess? But isn’t it a Pack/crafted spell. Meaning you have to spend a shit tonne of crowns of spend HOURS grinding to craft it. It’s supposed to be better than the base line, that’s the reward You get for spending money or time trying to craft it. Death To be fair, I don’t actually have a problem with you calling feint overpowered. This one was actually reasonable

@@hueningbahibitch at the time it was probably a too long didn’t read moment. But if you want my response now, Fire - Sure, semi difficult strategy to pull off but that doesn’t mean it’s not insane. Storm - Sure, tempest should still be damage go brrr, doesn’t really matter. It’s just pretty boring that you could use the spell every fight from when you first get it to the end of the game. Myth - True enough. I still think its DPP is too high but fair argument. Balance - Sure. Life - This is the biggest one for me and what seemed to be missed altogether. I’m not saying REMOVE healing, and i’m not saying to break it. Im saying that a level 50 life wizard shouldn’t be able to full-heal a max level in one or two turns. The healing per pip rate on life is insane. I’m, once again, NOT saying that saytr should heal like 200 health. I’m saying it should maybe be brought down to a more reasonable number.

@@KaiserNoah fire- sure it can be strong but it's a situational strategy, it isn't used all the time, I've only seen it used twice in my entire playthrough of wizard101 which is in the morganthe fight, also such amazing coordination and having the specific deck is supposed to win you a match against a boss who can be defeated easily through that way, therefore you won't have to farm them for more time than needed, farming itself makes the game more stale Storm- I mean whatelse are they supposed to do? The only way to fix tempest is remove the spell all together, making it 70 damage per pip would make it do 280 damage at 4 pips which is less damage than fire myth life death and balance 4 pip aoe, it's balanced for the fact that since it's X pips, you are gaining less DPP, but gaining the flexibility of being able to cast is whenever otherwise storm would need a 4 pip aoe which does like 350-380 damage which is over 90 dpp. Life- I doubt healing is ever needed in pve, except for fights like malistaire and etc, usually in hard fights, you won't be able to heal fast enough or will have heal debuffs cuz the bosses will have insane cheats and can do insane damage. Healing less in pve such as malistaire fight would just make it slower and you would have to flee more times, I don't get how it changes anything except make it even more tedious than it needs to be.

The more you smooth the cost vs effect, the closer you get to all wizards bring identical except for animations. Instead of a hard nerf, I would love to see different adjustment strategies. Let feint boost damage a random amount between 50 and 70. Let judgement do 80-100 per pip. Let the fizzle chance go up 5% per pip. Let fizzles not just stop a spell, but have miscast effects like a fizzled juju heals them or goes on you instead. If they let mobs be a little more unpredictable too, you might not be able to repeat a single strategy endlessly. Randomize the health, resistance, spells of mobs 20% so there is something interesting happening.

I am VERY surprised you did not mention Wild Bolt as a broken spell for Storm. While this spell is a chance spell at being useful, and is more so a PvP spell, the chance at doing 1,000 damage for only two pips is INSANELY broken.

While that’s certainly true, a spell that risky isn’t worth using at all after a certain point. The chance of doing 10 or 100 in any world past mooshu, especially if you’ve been blading and trapping for rounds, is just too much to consider it OP.

If feint was nerfed, half the players would quit the game. The game already takes so long to beat, no one wants to spend double the time in a fight just cuz feint got nerfed. Let's not make the game worse than it is.

@@KaiserNoah not everyone is that obsessed with the game to beat it in 2 weeks. It takes months if you play 2 hours a day. Not everyone can make crazy quick strategies and have best gear. I'm good at the game but I have friends who struggle like that, feint nerf would just make the game worse for them.
