Tommy Bahama is overrated! The silk shirt is aplenty! and there are knockoffs!! I only buy TB new w/ tags. Hilfiger needs to be cool again. He's not promoting his stuff. A lot of those brands are on AMZ, like Hilfiger. It's on AMZ and that to me indicates that the brand has lost its luster. It's equal to a mall brand. I agree with your list. I walk pass MK. Now, their women's purses do well, but clothing? -- fuggedaboutit. There's TOOOOO much Disney out there. I walk past anything with Mickey image on it. Obama wore Hart Marx suits, but I don't think he's wearing them anymore.

I've sold Tommy Bahama shirts - those with great graphics sell, even though I've had to sit on a few for some time. Other TB is long long tail. Vineyard - T-shirts with large whale graphics sell pretty quickly for me. And I've got an Eton that's been listed for years. So... I agree with your evaluation. And at the thrifts here in the Phoenix area, Tommy Bahama is priced through the roof - along with Ralph Lauren, Perry Ellis, Calvin Klein and other formerly hot brands. The people who price these things at the thrifts seem to be stuck in a time warp.

I always pick up the tommy b silk shorts. They don’t sell for much but they sell very fast

You have to Pick your spots with those brands. If you get an older J.Crew Workshirt, red or gray one with Selvedge, thats usually a 50$ sale, if you get the J.Crew Kaihara Jeans or the Jeans with Tags you do very well. Same with Vineyard Vines as well, really selective, Tommy Bahama can be profitable but it can also be really really slow. But the different fabrics are sought out after and the really good tommy B goes for very good money.

Salvation Army here in myrtle beach wanted $20 for a Harley Davidson shirt but they had some vintage 560s and silver tabs for $4.99 And I mean they had literally 2 pairs of Levi’s and they were a pair of sz 42 silvers and 560s

Thomas Pink Dress Pants and Tommy Bahama anything has sold for me very well in my EBay career. But I agree with the Eton brand, I have one in my store currently and its just sitting. I also think that a lot of these brands have to do with your seller rating for it to sell for a decent price. But I love this video, definitely learned something.

It will be interesting to revisit the list in a few months. I think we could start seeing some buying changes as people start to go back to the office and either want to freshen their wardrobe or discover that maybe not all of their work clothing fits quite like it did before a year of living in stretchy stuff. On the women's side I'm starting to see a bit of sales pick-up on career and "nicer" items.

Wow. This is awesome. Spot on. Coincidentally sold my only Tommy Bahama silk shirt WHILE watching this. Lmao. BUT I was shocked. I only listed it because it was dirt cheap and I suck at finding mens clothes. It’s also been listed dor a few weeks. Exactly on HD. Sell the garage shirts in seconds for good money and meanwhile I have had an HD graphic Tee in my inventory for almost a year!

Ha ha, some of your overrated brands are what I like to call the push button brands, ie: if I could walk into a thrift and push a button to make certain brands disappear it would make it SO much easier to look. Sold 3 pairs of jeans since I watched your last video, 1 Levis Baggy SIlverTab, 1 Levis 560 and Polo RL, all from checking the sell thrus. In fact today, I passed on some items I normally buy because of your advice. Picked up more Polo 867s, Levis 640 and Tommy Bahama Classic Fit Jeans. Put a white Masters polo back :-). Found a like new Cinch canvas coat and vintage Polo leather jacket, Filson shirt, good day today. Keep on with the vids, really digging them.

The Problem with the Nautica Vintage Stuff is Nautica did a remake of all their vintage stuff but more modern and about the same price the vintage stuff was going for, so the vintage Nautica market dropped off.

Tommy Bahama: I usually sell 100% Linen shirts and Plus size Sweaters. I'll definitely keep an eye out for their jeans and shorts now. Vineyard Vines: I usually sell the men's polo, button-up shirts and golf shorts. (L-XXL sell well) J. Crew: 100% Cashmere and Merino wool items only.

Yeah where were you 3 months ago when i first started sourcing and i was grabbing tommy bahama and tommy Hilfiger dress shirts left and right. Defintly learned my lesson on not checking sell threw rates. I didnt list anything for 2 months wich was a terrible idea so now im just listing nothing but all my low sell threw rate stuff at once and seeing if i can atleast sell enough to recoup my learning experience

I find tons of Harley because I live in Milwaukee. Any actual riding gear is money, like gloves or riding boots. I sold a riding hoodie for a good amount recently. You can tell if it’s riding instead of fashion based on sleeve length. And of course like he said, bigger sized and button shirts are good.

In my opinion 🙂 the sell through would be more accurate by adding the sold to the active, then dividing the sold by that sum. Say 50 active, 50 sold - to me that means out of 100 listed for sale, 50 were sold. So sell through rate of 50%, not 100%. Unless I misunderstood your calculations... I enjoy your videos a lot, thank you and Godspeed!

Thanks Liliana, that is definitely one way to calculate sellthrough. I've not found there to be a consensus about what the "correct" equation is. I prefer my simple version because it's the easiest and you can eyeball it on your phone when sourcing. And it's almost always worked well for me.

Harley stuff blows for me. I still like the tees, but most of it sits for a while. I found an America's Cup Vineyard Vines hat and got $100 for it! I sell quite a few Masters polos at a good price. PFG is the ONLY sub brand of Columbia that sells well. There are so many TNF fakes out there I quite picking them up.

Thanks for the info...For what it's worth I would like to share some effects of Covid on street style in Chicago. My daughter and her sig other who is a film maker and she is a social worker working on her masters living in the heart of downtown. They request certain things from me in the clothes department.... I will share...J Crew may be over saturated but in Chicago Lucky and J Crew closed it's doors over night....Shocking...Stock was sooo limited to remaining stores...Supply and demand....This sent a ripple effect and now all guys covet J Crew and Lucky. LL Bean made a strong come back and so did Addidas, Car hart, North face and No tuck shirts are huge. Khakis (old school style) as well as corduroy. Simple nice black hoodies are nice to wear under Levi's jackets with fur fleece collars. Guys are moving away from skinny tight jeans and heading toward a fitted style old school type of denim. Hope it helps...
