Call to action!
@Zaalbarjedi10 ай бұрын
Just FYI, triggers of the cards like Ghirapur Orrery / Howling Mine etc., even though they affect each player, are controlled by the controller of the permanent, so it is actually permanent controller's obligation to remember them, not the opponents.
@LazarusIsBackBaby10 ай бұрын
I really don't think eliminated players should be able to call out errors! In Judge's Tower catching your opponent missing an action is a huge part of the gameplay. This is like eliminated players being able to take out other players in Commander.
@chrisvanderheiden1210 ай бұрын
Definately agree. Part of the game is balancing watching the opponent for errors without missing your own. Once you are just watching (because you lost), it becomes much easier to catch people
@Superstarearth10 ай бұрын
Hard agree. It's a game of active players and active players should be the only ones that effect the game.
@Khronogi10 ай бұрын
I like them being able to call other mistakes out. Game is about knowing the rules. What better way to prove that than by having everyone being able to call it out?
@Superstarearth10 ай бұрын
@@Khronogi The biggest thing for me that it feels like the active players has to remember everything that they have to do and everything of your opponents has to do. We want to find out which player has the best memory of the rules. The active players has to remember everything but the eliminated players as 0 pressure left since they lost. I would love to see a side table of the eliminated players talking thinking who will win also be able to spot mistakes without eliminating the active players as like a gossip side table or a sports caster.

Respect this take. More eyes on the remaining players (usually) means quicker games, which is helpful for our editor gremlins. The demon will consider it though!

Here's a card I think should be added: Cryptwailing It's only sorcery speed and requires you to exile two creatures from the grave. Such specific requirements will lead to an interesting difficulty tweak. Also, for both the players and the viewers, it may be best to have some sort of indicator when a player is dead or alive. Maybe a double-sided marker that just flips over when someone gets taken out?

Spurnmage advocate is nearly a vanilla creature in this format, unless you also have a card to give it haste or vigilance. It has to attack every turn and can't tap without a legal target.

I don't have any rules reference, but I believe that for things like simultaneous draw/mill, the active player would take the action first because of apnap. The diference between somwthing like draw and triggers is that drawing doesn't "go on the stack" so it just happens in turn order.
@MattMarheine10 ай бұрын
Yep! 121.2c: If more than one player is instructed to draw cards, the active player performs all of their draws first, then each other player in turn order does the same. 101.4: If multiple players would make choices and/or take actions at the same time, the active player (the player whose turn it is) makes any choices required, then the next player in turn order (usually the player seated to the active player's left) makes any choices required, followed by the remaining nonactive players in turn order. Then the actions happen simultaneously. This rule is often referred to as the "Active Player, Nonactive Player (APNAP) order" rule.

12:04 didn't matter because he forgot to draw but you cant do that you have to roll the d4 there i know you have infinate mana but still 17:47 why did he loose there?
@keoshine10 ай бұрын
1. John shortcut the roll by explicitly declaring that he was going to crack all the Treasure tokens as soon as the ability resolved, so it didn't matter how many got made since they would all immediately be sacrificed anyway.. 2. Millikin could have tapped and milled a card to create mana in response to the upkeep triggers, but it wasn't activated before Dylan started drawing from the Orrery trigger, which broke the rule that any possible action must be taken as soon as the action is legal to take..

I would really think activating abilities need a 'once per turn cycle' rule. Having to activate abilities every upkeep is unintuitive and just leads to weird stacks every upkeep for little gained 'judge tower complexity'.
