For what it's worth they said once that they find it fun y when people take it seriously and get upset, like it validates the criticism their satire set out to make. Granted, that was 10 years ago but I'd like to think they feel the same. I wish they would've gone on to make more content, I'd be really interested in seeing where they are now, and what they think about those old videos. "Going Green for God" is my personal favorite.

As a lifelong atheist who grew up in the US, I had sooo many conversations like this with other children in school and life in my childhood. The most common question when I said I don't believe in any gods was "what keeps you from stealing and killing people?". Tbf a lot of people with longer names, use a shorter nickname. Also some cultures barely ever use people's first name and use relationship terms instead, so when in a culture where people use first names, they choose to change it. It isn't always just to make life easier for white people. I know that isn't India specifically, but a lot of Indian people shorten their names in India too. I mean a lot of people called Robert, will only go by Rob, or Elizabeths often go by Liz. It happens in most cultures.

SAME HERE. I might be white as hell, but I've also grown up with a lot of Mexican friends. One of which being my best friend since middle school who lives in a very traditional house with her mother who's also religious. And sure, the sheer amount of Jesus dolls in their house was more than a little jarring at first(mostly because I had a mild fear of dolls in middle school) but it was never anything that I felt was "wrong" or needed to be changed. Same thing with all other cultural practices. Learning about other cultures and traditions has always been a privilege, especially being able to be invited into a space that reflects that so heavily. I could NEVER imagine disrespecting someone like that so openly for something that makes them so unique.

You killed Jesus and we love Jesus." Interrogated about whether or not I believe in Jesus and how Jesus plays into Judaism (including by an employer), a so-called friend setting the ultimatum that I convert or we aren't friends anymore because she wants to see me in Heaven someday , INSANELY stupid questions... I cannot *imagine* dealing with all of that PLUS the racial aspects. The religion part is hard enough, but to straight up be told that you're wrong about what race you are, to be generalized and dumbed down, is infuriatinggg.

It’s so crazy to see how all of us who are colored got treated so differently but all terribly in school. I’m Native American. Growing up I was called “Sacagawea” or “Pocahontas.” It was a fun guessing game for people to come up to me and say “What are you?” Around Thanksgiving was the worst. Everyone dressed up as us and made war bonnets, not realizing the cultural significance of what we wear. My people were just a costume to them. The boys who were Native always got bullied for having long hair and were always misgendered, not realizing the significance hair plays in our culture. When it came time to doing research that we’d have to present on famous people I always got Sacagawea so they could dress me up. The worst one though was when they taught us about the Oklahoma Land Rush of 1889. Where white people, Sooners, fought over the land they took from us and claimed it as their own. My school did a weird mock of it where the kids got to run out and claim land for themselves that were all marked and separated. The kicker, they didn’t let me participate because I “wouldn’t have been allowed to back then…” Even though we are all from different backgrounds, we all got treated like “others.”

Even if you’re white with something else, you aren’t safe from assumptions. I’m white, Native, and Italian, but people still make some bold leaps guessing what you are so you can be categorized. These kids sadly aren’t far off from what I experienced in school because people would make a game out of guessing my race like I was Noel Miller. Even though I’d really just tell them if they asked, I hardly did because the opener was always “are you *insert ethnicity here*” instead of actually taking interest in my background. TL;DR: Assumption bad. If you’re curious about someone’s culture, you can ask without being gross.

AS A self-proclaimed cereal expert, who was an itty biddy baby in 2009 who wasn't eating cereal YET. I have done research, and I have a few cereals i believe they couldve been snackin on based on color, wording, game etc. #1: Quisp: a crunchy corn cereal. The bixes were the same blue color and Quisp had many different things on the back of their boxes such as riddles, games, comics, and more. They also had a white logo like shown at the bottom of the box. #2: Rice Krispies: yet another blue box. Rice crispies are less likely becaus ei couldnt find any boxes with games on the back, abd i believe if it had a logo on the bottom of the box it would be the red Kelloggs logo. #3: Frosted Cherrios: ANOTHER blue box. Some of these boxes had yellow or white logos on the bottom and i found a few with games on the back. So this one is possible but the font doesnt match up very well from what i found. (Theres also like Frosted flakes and a few others but its been like 10 minutes aready sooooo) THANK YOU FOR LISTENING TO ME RANT ABOUT CEREAL FOR THIS LONG.

I genuinely feel bad for those girls. I come from a similar background as them, and was very much like this up until around middle school when I discovered I was attracted to both boys and girls. It wasn't until then that I realized just how terrible the Jesus fan club can be. Still never told my parents, but gotta say, real eye opener, and I'm still extremely embarrassed from some of the things I've said as a kid due to having racist and homophobic parents. I can't really blame them just because I know from experience that they genuinely don't know any better and just haven't been exposed to much outside of their Christian bubbles, besides the negative occasional offhand comments their parents make. Hope these girls find their way and what they truly believe in instead of basing what their values are off of what their immediate family believes. Also, insanely proud of Sara and how she handled this whole situation, honestly don't think she could have handled that any better. So sorry she had to go through that, and really hope these girls look back on this and cringe

This reminds me of this time in college that my Hindu friend and I were talking to a classmate about winter break plans, and she was talking about working on Christmas. Our classmate was like “but it’s a holiday, why are you working?” And she told him “I’m Hindu, we don’t celebrate Christmas.” Our classmate was literally blubbering and in absolute shock. He kept asking what she celebrated on Christmas and absolutely couldn’t comprehend that she didn’t have an equivalent holiday.

Ughh I felt the struggle deep in my heart. I’m currently not religious, but the way my mom raised me is heavily influenced by the orthodox church (going to church every Sunday morning, I’m baptised, etc.). However, while most of the world lives by the Gregorian calendar, the Eastern Orthodox Church follows the Julian calendar when it comes to celebrations of any sort. And if you don’t know, the Julian calendar is 13 days behind, which means our Christmas falls on what is for the rest of the world 7th of January. Anyway, to sum it all up, people have hard time understanding why don’t I celebrate Christmas on 24th of December. And to make it worse, we don’t have a feast and give gifts like others do. We just go to church. Not quite the same experience as the Hindu girl, but pretty painful still.

People used to try and convert me all the time growing up. This is a very accurate conversation. It's rough. The worst thing is that the other kids are convinced that you are going to hell and they feel like they have to save you or its their fault. It's such a weird position. For Saraa to handle this conversation so well with such dignity in a second language is truly amazing. Edit: if you think this is unusual, it's not. People used to tell my dad at our soccer games that he should leave my mom and us and marry a Christian woman and have children who could actually go to heaven with him. In front of all of us. While we were under the age of 10.

I feel so bad for Saraa, oh man, the absolute blunt racism with full confidence that they think they're correct, just makes one physically recoil, like THIS is what people mean when they say psychic damage. Some people have said this is a troll channel, but like actual people hold these beliefs more than a decade later, so it kind of doesn't work as anything more than an effective method of exorcising one's own spirit out of their body.

10:28 this gives me flashbacks to kids asking me if I, as a Jew, believe in Jesus, and also if "I even really believe in God." I feel Saraa's pain. Shit sucks. People also told me all the time I wasn't Jewish because "I don't look Jewish" which is a whole other thing (and I actually do "look jewish" anyway). And I live in New Jersey, where Jews live all over the place. Being Jewish in Ohio must be terrible, let alone being Indian in the US in 2009! 13:41 which is, ngl, literally how Christianity is. The trinity is three gods that are one god. That's what they are. They are not like the singular god of Judaism and Islam. edit: gabby talks about that literally like 5 seconds later lol.

Even if the education system itself fails you, never stop your own education - the human brain craves knowledge and learning! I was one of the smart kids (with profoundly obvious undiagnosed adhd) in high school who always got good grades but never studied, and I am now SUFFERING for it! @@gypsylee333 Probably partly years of indoctrination, and partly just the haziness around his existence as a normal human. There are records of him according to the Jewish and Roman historians of the time, one person in specific is Tacitus. Tacitus was a very concise historian, and everything he recorded has been proven historically accurate. He made mention of Jesus a few times. It still stands that even as a fictional character he’d have been a brown man, which was the point of my original comment. I speak not as a Christian, so I’m not trying to defend my faith.
