Thank you so! Why there isn’t more clearly presented Latin piano music is a crime. I’m in my 2 year of Latin piano and despite mainstream music desire to sweep it under the rug -still we rise! More, more.

After a longtime paino note has made a proffessional sounding piano style...last time was when Jordan leibel leftoff with truly sounding authentic blues/boogie stuffs. These latin stuffs are not easily explained in most other youtube videos...because those videos talk about some irrelevent 2-3 or3-2clave...make things worse with clave rubbish. I would like to thank this new tutor whole heartedly for explaining the montuno tumbao stuff ,which he has done so nicely in the context of 4/4 meter and without talking a word about some irrelevent 2/3or 3:2 clave... I would expect many such fine videos in future from this new wonderful tutor

Finally - exactly what I was looking for! Not having a latin-american background and not being a professional musician I didn't even know what to search for - didn't have any idea other than to google for "latin piano". Piano Montuno! Thanks a great deal for an extremely helpful video!

Classically trained and enjoying pianote's help to have fun with other genres of music. Thanks so much! Loosened me up..I hug my scores wayyyy too much!!
@MultiBadger3210 ай бұрын
For classically trained, I think it's easier to play two hands together than the LH tumbao alone. The RH crotchets and quavers give you a nice meter on when to come in. Far easier than the same problem in Schubert Impromptus!

Killer lesson I loved it! And you’re right, playing the same thing hands together isn’t that bad-you taught and presented it perfectly . It’s the different bass part in the left hand and the right hand melody that gets difficult and takes some serious practice 😯. Thanks for the great lesson! 🎹🎶🔥

hi! the explanations and the progression are very good. I've caught the tip for playing two hands together. My first question is : i think it is for 2-3 clave, is it right ? then come the second question : what montuno for the 3-2 clave? are there other tutos for latin piano by Kevin Castro? and also for playing a real song. Thx!!
@jpmagoots1241 Жыл бұрын
Great lesson! I'm playing the right hand with variations within a few hours. Synching up the Timbao will take more time. Do you happen to have the rhythm backing track or can you point us to it? Thank you!

And after you’ve reached that 100%, you’ll find out (via the looks you get) that the tempo fluctuates FAR more than you’d think. I’ve met exceptionally competent musicians who struggle to nail the beat with true salseros.
