The backdrop of the song, the Peelings, is set in Kerala's culture, those horror getup guys are not any kind of horror costume but it is the traditional attire for Kathakali (one of traditional kerala dance forms). The song is a mix of Malayalam language and Telugu. The song and lyrics explores the after marriage sensuality in romance between husband and wife in that region, with a hint of tease, fun and romance. But you shouldn't assume it all in general but mostly how romanticism (particularly wild ones) between a loving couple in that region or most rural areas of India happens.

20:18 We do judge films by morality. As it should be. Because movies play a huge role in impacting the minds of people, especially young impressionable aged population. I won't guarantee about west, but in Indian subcontinent, unfortunately the population follows and takes inspiration from characters, consider them call them hero and tries to apply it in life. The celebrity worship culture is very heightened here. Also as a society there are many good things to be proud of but also many messed up, faulty distorted things which further gets exploited and aggravated by such characters and its justification. Problem is not realising it, problem is when people agree to it, justify it, normalise it, romanticise it, accept it (violence, Misogyny, cheating, affairs, etc) in reality. Not to forget, the director of these 2 movies openly saying in its promotional interview- "If you can't hit your partner, your wife, i don't think there is comfort and love between you both" . That's where the issues are. And as a person from psychology field, I cannot stop stressing how detrimental movies like Animal, Kabir Singh, many old movies like Tere Naam, etc are for our society especially young generation . Media has a major subconscious impact on our psyche, and Movies are the largest product of media to be successfully doing this. Also its high time, I think you should just get it done with watching Animal and see how f***** it is. Tell me if it doesn't give you a headache.

movies can be made to promote and uphold positive societal values. BUT that is not the only theme or facet movies can be made about. Art should not be bound and limited by such subjective perspectives. I think girls or most feminists find the overall masculine and somewhat misognist and regressive theme in the MC problematic WHEN THE CHARACTER is supposed to embody those traits as its indicated in the title animal itself and completely denounce the cinematic and masterful craft of Vanga in each scene. Each scene is captivating cinematic brilliance. Audience find it as breath of fresh air where the movie is space inundated with predictable progressive themes and the ending can be more or less predicted within 1st thirty minutes for most the most part. After Queen bollywood movies are stuck in this headspace and things have become boring for movie buffs and also alienated the non urban audiences .The same People criticize animal but appreciate and rejoice the hyper modern leftist films inundated in OTT and bollywood which equate woman empowenment themes to cheating, threesomes ,other sexual troupes and where a man is a a cricature of a bumbling fool with repressed emotional needs and sexual dysfunctional problems is hypocrisy of the highest order.

7:57 kissik is kind of empowering song. I don’t know how to explain it. The female lead of this movie was morphed in to some explicit vids and the lyricist kind of addressed it in this song. The whole cinema after this song kind of centers around saving a woman from nasty men. And the set in this movie is late 1990s… so it makes sense y they made it that way. In 1990s i don’t think women were as empowered as they are now in India. There’s always this thing that there should be an item song to make movie feel complete.

Telugu also has the other variation of da (the softer version) in it’s consonant toolbox. All of the Telugu words end in a vowel sound, makes it unique. There should be a video on KZbin about why Telugu is very musical and is poetically preferred.

Pushpa comes from a genre of movies called "masala action or mass movies". For context think of it like the summer blockbusters that US makes like fast and furious, transformers, Marvel movies etc. You won't find much nuance but the experience or just letting off some steam after a hard day is why it works. There is also the whole debate around taste where a section of obnoxious urban Indians have made this entire thing into a class issue and aren't a bit ashamed about making classist remarks about taste vis a vis high art/low brow. Just because the underprivileged sections of the society enjoy such movies it's seen as "uncool". You don't expect a blue collared worker to spend his money for some high art cinema as entertainment after a hard day's work or to experience the realism since their life is already a harsh reality. So if it gives someone escape or a sense of joy who are we to judge?
