A “10” Great inside info on George Town and Stocking Island. Obviously end of the road if not jumping. Nice restaurant info. Race Week Awesome. Beautiful lines on your new 61’. C Shel in gold leaf lettering on the Black Gloss Transom will really look so off the hook. What happen to endless June summers in the Bahamas. Indiantown Marina, Fl. is a nice hurricane hole on the Okeechobee Waterway. Only one 61’ on Yacht World at this time. It will be interesting to see where you hold up until November 1st. I would recommend the Chesapeake. You’re in the US where services and parts are readily available. The bay is much less prone to hurricanes. If you don’t plan to use the boat, find a boatyard and haul out for several months, get some projects done.
@SearchingforCShels5 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the recommendation Bruce! Yes we've considered the Chesapeake for sure. Even wondered if we should also get into Atlantic Yacht Basin's hurricane club. They are tucked away in non tidal water, no surge and undercover. It is a great option.

As someone who owns a business in the marine industry (yacht management)and has spent a lifetime around the water. You guys have a genuine love for the water it shows. If you decide to dock the boat in Florida for hurricane season check out longboat key moorings. Very protected and safe.

🙏❤ What a wonderful thing to say. We love you. lol. I guess the KZbin algorithm doesn't like us. We don't know about 100000 subs, but we do wonder sometimes why we don't grow faster. We've been around for a long time now. We see startup cruising channels surpass us in subs quickly. Not sure why. I guess we need people to share and spread the word. Cheers, and thanks again for your very kind comment.

Searching for C-Shels. It sure was, 11+ hrs of moving time one way! 200+ miles. We all felt the pain 😬, but like they say no pain no gain. The return trip we broke up, spend one night in Freeport before crossing early that next morning. All in all I’m glad we made the journey. Not sure we will again by ski, but never know. I can say we all wish we had more time once there to explore and spend a few days on near by Cay’s. But like most, we will mostly likely just stick with crossing over to Bimini! Billy D

there is something about living on the water that is like nothing else... lived on my boat for 7 years (back in '85) before buying a house... there is nothing like coming "home" after a brutal day at work... that last turn just before getting to the marina, all your troubles seem to melt away... boat was across from a charter fishing dock, and guys from work booked out of there, and seeing me sitting on the deck, drinking my morning coffee and waving to them, they understood be safe, Tim and Cat

We always want more... Your boat seems perfect for two people, or even a family. Why sell her when she's being so good to you? A 60 foot boat will cost a lot more to maintain, and it will use more fuel. I have a 50 foot powerboat and would never want anything larger than this boat (I actually preferred a 42-45' but this one came along at the right time.) Anywhere from 42'-50' is perfect for a live-a-board. Easier to dock, to pull out of the water, plenty of space (my boat can take up to 12 people,) less in fuel costs, and just less to maintain in general. For the kind of boating you're doing, I would just keep what you have.
@SearchingforCShels5 жыл бұрын
Don’t worry, our 44 is not going anywhere for a long time. She is the perfect boat for us for sure, and we love her. We were just dreaming and having fun with it, not often we see a Pilothouse Tolly. Cheers!

@@SearchingforCShels Smart! Good for you. You have one of the nicest boats on KZbin for what you are doing, which is more than what most do. That boat has many, many more years of great life in her if you continue to maintain her. As we say in Japan, Gambatte...

So why would an anchorage with hundreds & hundreds of boats be the most popular spot in the bahamas!? Good grief.
@SearchingforCShels5 жыл бұрын
Sorry Mike, not sure we understand your question or what you are trying to say.
@mikephillips93115 жыл бұрын
@@SearchingforCShels Sorry, outside of being a convenient spot to pick up some provisions, etc, which makes it "popular" perhaps, anchorages with "hundreds & hundreds" of boats as you say is not usually a spot most cruisers aspire to or think of as "popular". Popular with the general "boating" population I suppose. Most cruisers I know seek out secluded, quite & idyllic destinations & anchorges. Many of us sail to "the ends of the earth" looking for spots like that. I can't imagine trying to take a dip off my boat with all the sewage of hundreds of boats drifting about, boats infringing or dragging down on others when the weather kicks up, late night on board parties, noise from shore, etc. I suppose the term "popular" means different things to different folks but with all the beautiful places in the Bahamas, I wouldn't put Georgetown in the catagory of most popular spot. Just my take on it.
@SearchingforCShels5 жыл бұрын
Ah, ok, we see what you are saying. Yes, it is the most popular in terms of the quantity of cruisers there at any one time. We said nothing of the quality of the area for cruisers. That is personal option of each cruiser. Some would say it is the best spot in the Bahamas, and people flock to it, even bypassing some of the nice tranquil, beautiful areas to get there. They spend the entire winter season down there. We are not that type of course. We don't mind for a week or two, but like you prefer the more secluded, quite, and idyllic destinations. We've been to many, check out some of our other videos for more destinations like that. Cheers Mike!
