Agree - great customer service. I have an original Nomad from their Kickstarter - when it had an issue I still got excellent support. My next CNC will definitely be a Carbide 3D.

Really wish that I would have bought a Shapeoko instead of an X-carve. : (

I've been on the fence about getting an x-carve and upgrading from my carve King CNC. What downsides have you experienced?
@carbide3d
@carbide3d Жыл бұрын
It's fundamentally a derivative of the Shapeoko 2, a much lighter-duty machine.

I have a Pro XXL. What would be the benefits to upgrade?
@carbide3d
@carbide3d Жыл бұрын
The Pro XXL is a terrific machine. Especially when equipped with the VFD Spindle, you have a ton of capability. Aluminum and Brass are no problem at all. For the features and benefits, this is what our CEO put together when we launched Shapeoko 5. It stands true today: carbide3d.com/blog/introducing-shapeoko-5-pro/ What you have is a terrific machine. Lots of times "need" and / or "want" come into play when deciding on an upgrade. The VFD: shop.carbide3d.com/collections/accessories/products/vfd-spindle-kit

This is my exact thought, and if it's a 5 pro vs 5, what's differant. I didnt find much info at all highlighting a differance.
@krtwood
@krtwood Жыл бұрын
@@billcarriveau I'm sure there are more videos coming that will get to the details but the obvious main difference is that the 4 and old Pro both still use belts on the x and y axis while the 5 pro has ball screws everywhere. Pretty aggressive price for a machine with ball screws.

What's the easiest way to get the 4x4 to ontario canada?
@carbide3d
@carbide3d Жыл бұрын
Hi Frank, RobotShop in Canada is your best source for Shapeoko 5. Cleanest way to deal with the import and associated fees. They don't yet have stock for their website, but you can contact them and they are able to get you a machine. When you need smaller items, like endmills, those will be sent directly to you. We look forward to having you in the Carbide 3d Family.

Reed, You should look at the entire cost and time involved in getting that machine setup. Be sure and do all the math before making the choice that is right for you. Shapeoko is a 100% solution / Quick assembly and an established machine platform with a full ecosystem of support. We'd love to have you in the Carbide 3D Family.

@@carbide3dI’m worried about QA. I gather there are issues with controllers, missing, failing parts. I’m sharing because I’d rather buy from you. I’m looking for a machine which will last many, many years for hobby now and selling stuff later. Please help me overcome these concerns. Thanks.
