So coincidentally Styko also released a video today where he listed out every CT position and ranked them on a tier list. Very similar concept so if you enjoyed this I highly recommend checking that video out too!

Only one I disagree with is Nuke. Outside is essentially the 'mid' of Nuke. Allowing access to both bombsites and outside. It's also one of the most contested areas of the map with there nearly always being some kind of outside presence. Not to mention it's one of the most difficult places to play, with the T's throwing all sorts of utility to take it, including a bunch of smoke walls, and having silo for a pretty strong second angle. You also have a fast rotate through secret for any B execute and can push into Lobby from behind the odd round. The only real weakness to the position is an A execute as main will often be smoked.
@Ryderdie16 ай бұрын
I mentioned that I am biased on Nuke, and I was conflicted on whether or not I should say outside is the strongest, that is because of all the points you already made. But I do still think that if ramp is played properly, it can have a massive impact on the rest of the map. Either way, thanks for watching!

Nuke is this one awesome map where everywhere is middle because it's a circle

also it looks like he confused the rotation player with ramp anchor… like ramp anchor isn’t the one fast rotating through ladder, ramp anchor flanks radio and makes the retake not so heaven-sided

I will say one important bit of information and I know this wasn't the purpose of the video and some other video maybe explains this perfectly but the importance of just playing a position period. It's far more impactful to play the position a twitchy teammate is playing than any of these positions (sometimes) and what I mean by twitch is the one player who just immediately moves to any sight the moment anything happens the best example of this is anchor B on mirage no one wants to play this sight and because of that players will immediately move the moment anything happens A. To counter this just be the better man and go play anchor B sit there look into apps and don't move until they have committed somewhere else because holy shit the amount of times I've lost B sight playing Cat because my teammate playing apps either rushes apps or immediately rotates B at the sound of anything is astonishing also for T side this demonstrates the power of a fake especially on mirage.

whats your resolution set up? You really inspired me and you've earned a subscriber. I have been playing csgo/cs2 since 2014 and never really focussed on practising to the point where I stopped practising and only play pugs. I have been a hard stuck level 8 faceit no matter how hard I try in the games and I have realized that because i'm not practising or warming up and just going right into the game, its going to be hard to succeed. I wanted to ask you as well. Recently i have found that if i go into a pug after deathmatching for 30-45 minutes and doing aim botz for 500 kills, i end up doing really poorly in the game. Is there a reason for this? This has happened many times and my friends are telling me its probably because of burn out. Is there any advice you can offer for me? Should i be practising after the pugs or something?
@Ryderdie15 ай бұрын
I'm currently playing on native resolution. Also, I'm really happy I could inspire you to adopt a more improvement oriented mindset towards CS. As far as feeling exhausted after a training routine, which is what I would consider 30-45 minutes of DM followed by 500 bots. You should feel somewhat exhausted. I would honestly take a break following training just for a little while. A good way to think about it is like this; professional athletes don't exhaust themselves by practicing moments before a game, so why should you? Take a few moments to relax before queueing after your training. Good luck on your journey and thank you for watching!

Great video, you made some god points but I would disagree with some of them. To start nuke: Yes the ramp position is VERY important, but for a ramp player to be effective you need to have a good outside player. If the outside player is not able to give accurate info it will be very hard to get impact on ramp, thats why I would suggest outside is a stronger position, also the outside guy will be able to take more fights. Inferno: Taking banana control is very important and can win you a match, but at least on the lvl I'm playing (3k elo faceit) everybody should be able to take banana with the util in the way the map is currently shaped. The awp rotate is the most impactfull position I would argue since he can play around all the map control the ct's get at the start. Vertigo: Pushing mid is a very risky soloplay, t's usually default towards A, the guy who will be doing the most damage is always going to be the gap player. Besides that the rotation player will 60% of the time not take over mid, but will go straight to B. Leaving you stranded on your offangle mid. For retakes you are the most important player, but else I dont really see it. I wonder what ur reaction is to this view, I left a sub and like cus it was a well put together video!
@Ryderdie16 ай бұрын
You make some excellent points and I very much appreciate you taking the time to write this out. I still view myself as a student of the game. I have a hard time disagreeing with anything you said simply because you backed it up with very logical evidence! Either way, thanks for watching the video bro and thank you for your insight.
@julianeder46996 ай бұрын
For nuke i would say heaven (the spot above hut in particular) is the best position as it allowes you to get an early read on any sort of enemy movement aswell as your enemies weaponry to prevent your heaven or outside player from taking a fight against a silo camper and his buddies while also allowing you to coordinate a counterrush should an awper jump down from silo. Last but not least its also a prime position to rush both hut and damage any vent rusher all while keeping you concealed from the entire front half of the a bombsite
@Ryderdie16 ай бұрын
I do agree that position can be really strong, but it does have some downfalls. Say you do need to rotate B, this position puts you in a bad spot to retake if you do lose vent control. But for A takes it’s REALLY strong. Thanks for watching!
@julianeder46996 ай бұрын
@@Ryderdie1 forgot to add the last part in my previous message. I meant to say this position is best if its paired with 1 or 2 utility heavy ramp players as it denies almost every point enemies could make a quick entry on. I mainly prefer the heaven place when i soloq couse its the only way for me to even remotely convince people to rotate in a timely manner as for full stack games i always like to ask the player who struggles most in the round to take it
@xlgapelsin61732 ай бұрын
@@Ryderdie1 3 months later but if you're very comfortable with long range rifle duels yard/outside is mega impactful aswell. Niko,Donk,Elec,Rain all prove this but you have to be VERY good at those duels
@Ryderdie12 ай бұрын
@@xlgapelsin6173 yeah I agree. As I play more Nuke I’m starting to change my mind more and more about playing Ramp. I do still think it’s a very powerful position, but playing outside is extremely powerful. Thanks for watching bro.
@CritiqueCS5 ай бұрын
If you play D2 properly, Cat isnt necesarily a position. The position ur refering to is called A rotator and frankly other than covering mid from CT and cat while the long take is happening, this player really is a "I rotate where needed" kind of guy, who mainly is there to help mid and cat. Now he is the guy who might take cat or will get boosted/push it sometimes, but its not necesarily a role to "just" be cat. For reference to this, check LIM-CS POV's video "Team Device vs Team Donk" and Voo's video "you're STILL Playing Dust2 WRONG".

You’re absolutely right, but I don’t think playing off spawns every match is necessary especially at lower levels. Even in my Faceit 10 pugs the people I get matched with often don’t want to exclusively play spawns. I will say if you play on a team, playing spawns is the strongest approach to CT.
