While Dohko gained age and shortened a lot, Shion didn't, this led to Shion's cosmo's decrease, but still he remained one of the strongest, as he gained his youth in his resurrection, he got his powers back witch were stronger than Asmita's, by far, it means Shion's full potential could take on for a few minutes of 9th sense awoken Shaka, in the meanwhile Dohko became shorter and gained age to his outlook, his cosmo's level remained same, and once he got his youth back and wore the cloth of Libra, he became even more powerful overpowering Shaka and Saga. This is just a senseless theory of mine.

Saga is the strongest because in all Saint Seiya (if I have good memory), he has'nt been killed by anybody. When he dies, he always dies on his own. Also, it's that his big bang attack unleash the energy of a thousand of billion blasting planet (a complete galaxy); Even Cronos escaped from him. His twin brother, Kanon, killed the most powerful Specter (Radamanthe) without any gold cloth. His double personality makes him incomprehensible and imprevisible (he controlled the Soul of Poseidon). He masters mind, dimensions, ultra complicated attacks, short and long range fighting. If Shaka is the closest of Gods, Saga is almost God. In orginal marginals of cosmo, in Lost Canvas, yes the Geminis do have an immense power and the most destructive techniques, but they aren't the best users of cosmo, that would go to Shion. A Fight between Shion and Abel would go on for about half millennia (aka 500 years) since Shion would use cosmo techniques of better level than Abel, but Abel would have a super hard time getting Shion to his knees since Shion's crystal wall is thought to be unbreakable counter attack shield as it can shield him from anything and counter it back, the battle in short would be a never-ending battle.

1- Saga - I don't like much, but I have to admit. 2- Shaka/Aiolia - Shaka has favoritism, but Aiolia have a match with him and Saga G. The anime shows that both were unstoppable by bronze saints, were it not for the deaths of Ikki and Cassius (providential). 4- Dohko - That guy strongly supposed to be on top, but his battles are frustrating. 5- Camus - In the speech is considered powerful by other gold saints, has impressive technique and his Ice Coffin is immune to other gold saints attacks. 6- Milo - Hyoga barely passed him, but was at a level lower than when he arrived at Camus. Milo really does not seem to exceed Camus. 7- Mu - Despite having defeated both Deathmask and Aphrodite, I think it was demerit of the opponents, not merit of Mu. Outside this fight his battles were very frustrating. 8- Shura - It certainly was a real challenge to Shiryu, much more than the Deathmask. Aioros was killed by him, although Aioros were at a disadvantage. 9- Aldebaran - I have no good arguments to support Aldebaran, although I sympathize with him very much. I consider an underrated character. He was not bad as the two that are below. 10- Deathmask/Aphrodite - The anime really humbled these guys. I like Deathmask more than Aphrodite, but I can not define the best/worst of them. Kanon/Shion/Aioros - I do not think there's enough evidence in favor to put Kanon, Shion and Aioros in the list for comparison.

I think its hard to rate them as each saint has its own strenghts that might work well vs one but less vs another. i guess Saggitarius Aiolos has potential to be the strongest saint as he takes on Saga, Deathmask, Aphrodite and Shura one by one without even equipping his own cloth and while holding baby saori. I'd also like to point out that several saints point towards others as being top candidate for being strongest saint. ps. my personal sign is Aries and i think he rocks :)

So many Saga vs Shaka here. I tend to lean towards Shaka to be the strongest. Yes Saga has the most destructive and powerful attack but attack alone doesn't make one the strongest. Saga needs Athena Exclamation together with Shura and Camus to defeat Shaka. 3 vs 1. Even it was stated that Shaka can ends them if he wanted. Although, I think what held Shaka down is that he's too... merciful. As a being considered closest to god, I placed Shaka higher than Saga.

My list would be:1 - Dohko/Shion - Saga confirmed Dohko was the strongest of the 20th Century Gold Saints in raw power, whilst Shion is his equal. The implied amp of the Rozan Hyakuryuha also does well in their placement's solidarity.2 - Gemini Saga/Kanon - Saga was confirmed in ND and SoG to be the strongest of the 20th Century Gold Saints (likely not including Dohko), whilst Kanon was confirmed by Ikki and Milo to be completely equal to his brother.3 - Virgo Shaka - Fought on equal terms to Aiolia without opening his eyes. His Tenbu Horin is also haxed enough to keep him in the top tier of the 20th Century Golds.4 - Aries Mu - One of the guidebooks states he's the strongest of the Saints, though that's likely just via his rank as a Gold Saint. Nevertheless, he showed good feats by tooling Aphrodite and Deathmask.5 - Capricorn Shura - Was capable of killing Aiolos (the way in which the fight was shown was filler).6 - Aiolos - Aiolia somewhat implied he was inferior to his brother in volume 7.7 - Aiolia - Copy-Paste the above response. Other than that everything else you said makes sense. Apart from the top tier Gold Saints and poor Deathmask and Aphrodite :P, the remainder of the Gold Saints are pretty equal in power, with Mu having the edge because of the information in the guidebook and his versatile range of techniques and intelligence/ease of mind.

In the anime, Shaka is depicted as the strongest of the 12 gold saints (excluding Shion and Dohko), having far more powers than his manga counterpart. The second would be Saga/Kanon or Aiolos, I don't know. Gold saints are stated to be equal in powers, so it's very difficult to list them. The anime is also very different than the manga. If you look the fight between Shaka and Camus/Saga/Shura, Shaka blocks their powerful techniques with only one shield, while in the manga it just blocks three cosmos beams. I don't think that it's fair to list Shion and Dohko on this list, because they have more experience, knowledge and powers due to their advanced age. In Lost Canvas, Asmita, for instance, can use almost all Shaka's techniques without preparation and doesn't lose his cosmos powers as he doesn't need to open his eyes.

Actually, a lot of people are wrong by saying Aphrodite is one of the weakest. He is actually one of the most powerful gold saint, if not the most powerful. At least, that's what Saga said the first time we saw Aphrodite. That he is not only the most beautiful saint, but also the most feared of all 88 saints, because of his cruel nature and his fighting power. The only reason why he lost against Mu in the Hades was because he was not using all his power( Just like Deathmask), he secretly still worked for Athena. It was not their desire to kill him. And against Radamanthys, they couldn't use more than 10% of their power because of some barrier cast by Hades. He is the last saint before the pope & Athena, the last shield against any threat. Besides, he is still considered like that by Saga & the others even if he doesn't fight at his full potential. His blood is poisoned just like every other pisces saint. He could use it, if he wanted to. So yeah, he actually is one of the most powerful gold saint, if not the most powerful one.

And in Lost Canvas scans, Deutoros defeated the god Kairo. He was injured at the end of the fight, but he could continue to live if he wanted it. Shaka, Shion, Ailos and Dokho are may be very strong, but in front of the Gemini twins, they must burst to the 7th/8th sense (with opened eyes and feet on land for Shaka) to at least hope that the fight is balanced.

Read the manga ahaha, Shion at first was saying that Aioros was stronger. But Saga couldn't believe it, so he asked him again until Shion admitted that it was because he knew the bad side of Saga. If that is what the Creator of this S.S.'s The Lost Canvas said in one of the episodes, then this shows they are the most powerful of all Gold Saints in these S.S. episodes, and thus will rank highly as given in this countdown. I respect the Great bronze saint Ikki (and the other 4 central bronze characters), but I also equally respect this particular Pope (forgot his name) during his reign in the S.S.'s The Lost Canvas. I suppose that after sir Shion's and sir Dokho's peak living presences on Earth (before they died), all these known Gemini Gold Saints are very powerful enough to be top candidates to be the next Pope or Head of the Gold Saints and their Sanctuary of Temples of Athena in the S.S. manga/series. Shion was as strong as Libra Dohko without using his weapons, so he could be at the best number 1 ex aequo with legendary saint Libra Dohko who was recognized by kyoko Saga as the strongest Saint (manga volume 7) Saga is also strong and very popular (that's why he is often encensed and overestimed) and Shaka has one or maybe the biggest cosmo but it is not confirmed by Kurumada sama that they are for sure stronger than the other goldsaint of their generation.

However, according to the official sources: -Gemini > systematically the strongest Gold Saint, and this for each generation (cf: Next Dimension) -Sagittarius Aiolos: pretty much on par with Gemini Saga, although Aiolos considers himself to be somewhat inferior to Saga. -in the 20th century, young Aries Sion & young Libra Dohko are equal in power and the strongest Saints of the whole order. But they are Saints from the previous generation, so it doesn't really count. -all the other Gold Saints are more or less equal in power, according to Masami Kurumada, and of course each Gold Saint will have his own strengths and weaknesses.

Kurumada never said that. The only time in the original manga was when Kyoko Saga said that Libra Dohko is the strongest of all Saint. That 's the only time. And in the manga Next Dimension, Ikki thought that Gemini could be the strongest in this generation too, but it couldn't be a proof because Ikki often contradict himself (he don't know all the goldsaints and just before, he affirmed that Suikyô was stronger than Goldsaints he fought, so stronger than Saga and Shaka ^^)

i based my ranking on the display of theirabilities. on milo as far as i know all he can do aside of their fighting skills is point his fingers and do some energy blast like the svarlet needle or the antares unlike saga who can make a huge energy ball,camus freeze all molecules to subzero, aiolia create lightning. same as dohko where his powers can create an energy like dragon that pushes you with massive force but it doesnt obliterate you. im not sure maybe it wasnt been displayed. but take ikki's power for example,soon as you were hit you get burn and blows up..

The thing about Scarlet Needle is that when it hits the target it causes unbearable pain and just gets worse as Milo attacks more. With that kind of pain it's difficult to fight efficiently.

If you read the description of Lightning Plasma, it won't mention the target experiencing unbearable or immense pain. It definitely does cause a lot of pain, but the Scarlet Needle causes even more pain. I don't even think the element of the Scarlet Needle is revealed. This helps to assure the fact that whatever it's made of might be more painful than lightning. Also, Milo's fighting style and attacks aren't effective against multiple enemies. Aiolia, Dohko, and Saga all have attacks that are useful against a single opponent as well as multiple. However, that doesn't mean they are always more powerful than someone who fights better against a single opponent.

Good list but for my Own dokho is the strongest because he was able resist shion in his Old form and saga said that dokho is the strongest gold saint despite his Old age even though his fight with shion end with no winner

actualy tenma is the strongest of the knights. while seiya killed 2 gods tenma actualy fought hades on even ground while the other knights were curbstomped. not to mention tenma was able to learn lightspeed movement instinctively. so yea tenma is way stronger

I would put dohko / sion as first saga 2 maybe aioros 3 (sagitarus arrow is basically just like a libra weapon) shaka and mu 4 all the other on a pretty similar rank after that.

It's very difficult to compare their strength from only those 2 minutes where they start a fight: Shaka is reluctant to face Aiolia and even has to use Tenpo Rin In to cease his doubts, so he was doubting which was maybe a problem in this fight. Moreover Shaka doesn't use his ultimate attack (he doesn't open his eye), he used tenma kofuku, but he still had chimimoryo, tenbu horin, and riku do rin ne to fight (not to mention his defensive kahn). Aiolia doesn't seem to have as much as offensive techniques (lightning bolt and lightning plasma). However SoG and Saint Seiya G can make us think that Aiolia has the greatest potential among the gold saints. It's potential and not strength.

Yeah, in these scenarios we have to power scale. Kurumada stated that Mu and Shaka are equal. He also stated that Mu is the best fighter among the Gold Saints, excluding Shion. For this reason I think that Mu is above Aiolia.

I think you're right: Mu is the disciple of Shion which is already quite good, moreover he defeated Aphrodite and Deathmask alone (even if those poor two gold saint are really humiliated in this chapter). And Kurumada wanted a very strong Mu, we don't see him fight during sanctuary so it's a good thing to build expectations for him and they did well. However I still think that during the chapter hades sanctuary they could've done an Aiolia-Shura (in memory of Aiolos), a Camus-Milo (two former friends) and a Shaka-Saga (even if Shaka vs the 3 was very good!)

I don't know why the sons of Saga and the sons of Shaka are so blind and selfish, they want to have more authority over the manga than the creator himself, in official Shion data in the highest score among all saints

Definitely Shaka is the strongest....he was beating down 3 gold saints forced them to use Athena exclamation....kinda survived. Then as he was dead he manifested himself from a bronze saint cloth to proceed to beat another Virgo Gold Siant in another dimension/time....that saint stated that Shaka is the strongest Virgo saint since the age of myth! If you consider lost canvas then the strongest saint would be Gemini Asparos after kinda fusing with his brother....he overpowered and almost killed Hades! Stopped by a time god!

What you saw was superficial. Saga and Camus weren't using their most powerful attacks of Galaxian Explosion and Aurora Execution, and they didn't wear gold cloth. Saga has been ranked the strongest gold saint multiple times by Masami Kurumada

THE MOST SILLY GOLD SAINT: 1. Shura Capricorn! Without granted the excalibur by Athena, his technique is only "Jumping Stone" which is so funny. 2. Deathmask Cancer! No other technique except only "Sekishiki Meika Ha". Try to use it against specters coming from Hades who are familiar with Dead Underworld, it will supposed to be totally useless!

I'm only pointing this out for my opinion, but Aphrodite deserves being on the bottom of the list. "He" is my least favorite characters of all Saint Seiya characters. On the other hand, Shaka has to be the strongest, he's the one closest to the gods! Also, I'm not counting Shion or Kanon, so sorry.
