I’m curious. Is there an advantage of being left handed in volleyball? I don’t really watch the sport. I’m left handed when it comes to playing basketball and other sports including volleyball however for every other activities I use my right hand ( writing etc ). Also when it comes to football I’m left footed. I honestly feel like I can spike a volleyball with both hands very effectively.

One reason is the same as for boxers. Left handed fighters (south paws) are less common and as most fighters fight and train against right handed fighters, a lefty can throw off their timing and his body is angled differently making it a little harder to throw their good punches etc. Left handers also find it somewhat easier to hit down the line in the opposite position making it harder to get in the right position to block. There are some of the reasons. Hope that helps.
