In this episode, we explore the new discovery of a giant solar storm that occurred 14,300 years ago, which was much more powerful than the Carrington Event of 1859, the most severe geomagnetic storm ever recorded in history. We also discuss the consequences of a giant solar storm for modern technology and society, and what we can do to prepare for future solar storms. We use ancient tree rings, scientific data, and space weather models to explain this fascinating topic and why it’s important for our civilization.
Chapters:

01:20 How did the scientists discover this giant solar storm?

On a side note: Since solar storms can produce magnetic storms in Earth’s magnetosphere, which in turn affect the amount of C14 in the atmosphere, which affects the amount of C14 in organic tissues, this means that C14 has varied over time. How does this affect the accuracy of C14 dating?

Read Rockefeller foundations scenarios for the future of technology and international development. Operation lockstep is Covid. Hack attack is what comes next. They have multiple ways of doing this operation. Solar flare, ai hack grid, foreign enemy like Russia or china, or an emp attack by an enemy. The end result will be the same. Collapse and blame supply chain collapse on it. New regulations and control. Destroyed economy and dollar. Time to wake up and understand we’re in a war

Huh? Don't think plamsa is a heat sink to space junk orbiting earth. This isn't how the earth is affected or the metal attracts anything towards it. Plamsa does things to the earth, but not from anything in orbit.

Mankind is now able to detect and prepare for Solar Storms, even it the warning may become significant only a few dozen hours before storm particles hit the Earth, that should allow for countermeasures to be activated. The power distribution companies SHOULD have prepared plans to disconnect all long-range power transmission grids to isolate power grids into small, localized areas to minimize damage to e.g. high-voltage transformers. For localities that are sensitive to such precautions (insufficient power available for local grids to maintain normal operations) it is better to ration or even switch off power for a couple of days, preventing damage to transformers, than the total loss of power for months or even years. Damaged high-voltage transformers take a LONG time to be replaced, they are custom-built pieces of infrastructure, and replacing a significant number of transformers will take months, even years.
@txrepublic5138

Switching off the power won't make a difference if a CME is as large as the Carrington event or the one talked about in the video. During the Carrington, some of the telegraph lines melted, and the structures that had the lines running through the wall caught fire in the areas where more radiation came through the atmosphere. Today the transformers use a oil inside of the housing to help with cooling and whatever else it's there for(I don't remember exactly the other reasons). A flare like the Carrington or larger won't just kill the power, but completely destroy the transformers, even the ones off the grid or in storage. Shutting down the power will do nothing to help with this. The damage to the lines could be minor in some areas, and completely burning the rubber coating off and melting the lines enough to damage the transmission of power by the resistance from the level of damage. Too high of resistance can't be overcome with higher levels of electricity running through it either. Heat becomes a serious issue, and lines we use in our homes will catch the wood on fire in the walls. It's basically the end of the modern world for earth. What makes the event of a CME more likely to happen in our lifetime or even in the next days, is the earth's magnetic field is dropping in it's power to stop the radiation from getting to the ground. You definitely don't want to be in the area of this, from the research I've read, the atmosphere could be literally pushed out to have the cold of space touching up to the ground level. But the fact remains the field is dropping in strength the more the magnetic poles move towards each other. This ranges from 10% to 20%, depends on who has done the measurements, and the latest one isn't being released for some reason. I don't remember the math to show how much it's dropping means more radiation gets through, but it adds up quickly when a Carrington power level can be extremely worse with each percentage of strength it loses. It won't need a Carrington power level to end the use of electricity is what happens. Unfortunately your right on money about the electric companies doing nothing to prevent this. I'm not sure it would even help if they did. I do know it takes a Faraday cage to start. Copper mesh with certain sized openings is best, but who can afford to cover they're complete home, or just the wiring inside the walls. Imagine a warehouse 50 yards long and 25 wide or larger. Cost to even use plain metal for a Faraday cage is expensive, and lately it's profits over anything else before preparing for something is done outside of the budget. Best thing I can think of is a smaller disconnected workshop with a complete disconnect from any power touching it and the best metal mesh you can afford to wrap it completely. Again, expensive to do and if you're in a city apartment style living, well, be ready to move out with the bare minimum. Look into the poles moving towards each other. It's starting to ramp up speed wise, and the time shrinks until they've reached the point of no return increases each year. Used to be centuries, then decades, now I think it's years. But no one can predict the day it's going to have north and south meet in the Indian Ocean area. A decade? 25 years? Scientists don't know, but it's going to happen eventually

If it’s strong enough to fry our grids then prevention won’t matter. Worst case scenario shows that a billion people will die the first year. Developed countries will manage to rebuild their first power grids in half a year. Mind you, they will need to rebuild the tools too. Now imagine hospitals not having power. Critical patients will die. Food supply will become a problem when everything that needs refrigeration spoils. No pumps mean no running water. All our cars runs with tech found in our computers. All that will fry. Now imagine what will happen to our nuclear power plants. If the cooling system of the reactors stops then we face a meltdown. And we will have no protections against other natural disasters like hurricanes or earthquakes when all our security measures don’t work. It will be years before life becomes normal again.

Isn't this type of phenomenon possible at any time? If it is meant to be, it will be. Because of this, it's just best that we learn to live in the moment and enjoy every moment. If we learn how to just love our fellow humans and not let the powers that be keep separating us, then we will be able to live in harmony with each other and learn to love the life that we have... Suspicious0bservers has tons of video's on this very subject. He has published books. If we get another Carrington level event or higher then we will be looking at Little House on the Prairie meets the Hunger Games... A plasma ejection will ionize the atmosphere and fry every single chip it reaches. No surge arrestor is fast enough for this stuff. One moment after is a book written by Foerster and it details exactly what could happen if that happens. Cars stop, planes will fall out of the sky, satellites in space will burn out. Its a very interesting subject to do some research on.

No -- that's not it at all -- The actual change in power emitted by the Sun in all wavelengths and including particles when a Carrington Event Flare occurs is insignificant. Even when you integrate over the duration of the event and add in the kinetic energy of the CME -- nothing of significance. The worry is all about the squishing and shaking of the Earth's Magnetosphere -- that's what gives us the Aurora and potentially the collapse of the electric power grid, etc.

This is largely an engineering problem. We design our power grid and other assets without consideration of the danger making them unprotected by design. We could redesign the power grid topology and components such as transformers to handle anomalous induction, or we could set it up to totally, instantly shut down and disconnect when geomagnetic conditions become destructive. It would be better to have no electricity for a few hours than having infrastructure self destruct. Rebuilding all the transformers could take decades, literally setting back civilization. Can we please pull our heads out of the sand?

More of a policy and legislative problem -- the prompt part of the solar eruption travels at the speed of light but that mostly effects space equipment and people who are in space. The big long-term effects come from when the Coronal Mass Ejection [CME and its accompanying embedded magnetic field] arrives. The grid can be disconnected and isolated quite easily in the hours after the x-rays hit the atmosphere. But suppose the prediction of the arrival of the CME is off. Who pays for the self-inflicted damage?
