Yes at the being shy in public but a silly goose with your students. That’s exactly me and why I love my grade level (preschool). It allows me to be silly and goofy and make mistakes without judgement and they love it. I love that sooo much!

Hi Michelle! I am a senior studying early childhood education, and I have been watching your channel since the beginning! I thoroughly enjoy seeing your honest classroom experience, and it is so nice to know all of the sides of teaching instead of the best or the absolute worst. Although I will be teaching younger students, your videos have given me many ideas and inspiration for the classroom I will have in just over a year. Thank you so much for being who you are and sharing all that you do! I smile every weekend when you upload! 😊

I am officially caught up. Found your channel in March and went back and watched all of your videos. :) Your such an inspiration to this Alternative Certification soon-to-be teacher from Texas. Your resume product and interview prep, along with ideas I've gotten from your channel helped me land my 1st tecahing job! I'll be a 3rd grade ELA and SS teacher in the FAll. Thank You.

Hi Michelle! I really loved the Hands-on Equation Activity. Such a great way to have students work on and manipulate equations and you’re right, we can easily do it with our own materials. Really neat! I can imagine your interpretive dancing while reading the science textbook. You are so right, the spontaneous things we do while teaching are the most engaging. Students will remember that. I keep being reminder that we teachers are also performers. It’s also a lot of fun! Your eyebrows looks great! They really frame your face nicely. I hope you have a great day!

We use power teacher gradebook, as well. When you create a new assignment it will say "select classes" and then you can check multiple classes. So now you don't even have to copy and paste! I use this all the time because my gifted kids are in their own class on power teacher for each subject! :)

My district has science kits that all teachers can request and use (so awesome!) and we have a similar activity -- but for ours it is sand and clay and you form the sand and clay as a plateau at one end of the tub, slant the tub so the mixture end is higher than the empty end, and then have a small hole to let the water drain out of the empty end. As water enters the tub, it will carry the mixture down and form streams, alluvial fans, and deltas. Instead of using a spray bottle, the students position cups above the plateau end (our rested on a paint stick that was balanced and taped above) and pour water into the cups. The cups have a hole or holes in the bottom to simulate rain. Small holes simulate drizzle and big holes simulate heavier rain. When we did it the students were able to see the outcome of what alluvial fans and deltas looked like. After describing them, the teacher then explains that those features have names -- and that's when you get into the vocabulary aspect of the lesson.

Hi! I teach in another MD county that also uses PowerSchool. Instead of copying and pasting the assignment, you can grade it by group. (If you have a lighter blue bar at the very top of the page that displays the class, click it and then click group and all of your subjects should pop up.) I’m a departmentalized teacher, too, and I find it so much easier to put in all 30 grades in the same screen, as opposed to doing it separately. I am a first year teacher who learns new things every single day, so I thought I would pass this along. We are so close to June! ☀️

We have 3 days left (used to be 2.5, but no school days made the last day a full day). I was ahead and then got pulled to teach the remediation class before students retook state tests. So for about a week, my kids had subs and my plans didn't happen and my kids went on vacation basically. Then we had no school on Tuesday and Friday last week because of weather (no power, flooding, roads washed out, etc.) So...any hope I had of getting and staying ahead went out the window. We're watching a movie tomorrow for the book we now have no time to finish and Tuesday and Wednesday will be cleaning days. I wish I could have been as productive as you!
