I done the Odin Project, and I have to admit the HTML and CSS section was amazing however the JavaScript section was very very rushed and not good. Also the ruby and Ruby on Rails path is pushed a lot even though in todays age, rarely any company uses ruby

Yes, but if you learn ruby, you can learn Python, and you can learn javascript, and the javascript section may have been rushed but it still can and will teach you how to code at an intermediate level and if you complete the material with javascript. and if you are ambitious and dedicated to achieving your goals, you can take the knowledge you gained from The Odin Project and build your own startup mobile apps utilizing Expo, React Native, which utilizes javascript

@@JahJones-l2q if I wanted to learn python or JavaScript , I’d learn it directly. You can’t use the excuse of “learning ruby will make it easier to learn python of js”. The fact ruby is not in demand so it’s a waste of time learning. Even PHP is more in demand. Also you said “if you complete the material, you’ll learn js”. That wasn’t my point. Of course learning the material === learning how to programme at an intermediate level, however most of the material are from outside The Odin Project Course. I have competed the course up to JS section. Alot of times, I had to put the course on break each time to watch a KZbin tutorial to understand the concepts well enough to complete the course because JS was rushed

ive heard so much good stuff about the odin project, however my two grips with it are the very limited scope, only focusing on web development and that it cant be run on windows natively. i want to learn coding but bot web development. Does anyone know of something like the odin project but for other developer routes besides web dev?
@a7mdbest157 күн бұрын
learning web development is a good start and it will open doors for you, but tell me what routes you are intrested in and i may know something.

@ ios app dev. I have two issues with this. 1) idk where to go to even get a good training for it, and 2) I don’t wanna have to buy an entire Mac or MacBook just to be able to learn it.
