Where the myth about a button that gives you extra power in a Tesla comes from is actually older model electric cars which had a reset button on the battery reader. My father worked on these. Li-Ion batteries actually don't fully empty, draining them completely actually destroys them. Hitting that reset button somehow tricked the sensor into letting you tap into that reserve that's meant to KEEP THE BATTERY FUNCTIONAL AND RECHARGEABLE. One idiot hit it so many times that he completely drained something along the lines of $100,000 worth of batteries, making them nothing more than a glorified toxic boat anchor. Don't try to trick the power/safety systems, folks, they're there for a reason.
@KS-PNW8 ай бұрын
There actually is a longer range option for Tesla's. You just have to pay for it, they've temporarily enabled it for free during major emergencies a couple times. No button though, the batteries just don't charge fully unless you unlock it.

I have to say first the editing on this video is hilariously top notch!! Then I have to say HEY!! The reason here in the UK there's modern folklore, stories, rumours whatever about strange beasts, maybe escaped exotic pets etc is because the scariest thing you'll encounter across the UK is perhaps an angry Bull/Cow or maybe a Horse!! If you're really unlucky potentially an Adder but even then you've got to be extremely unlucky to die from a bite! Especially as kids when you go out exploring, there's a vast expanse of land, maybe a big woodland!? Blatantly there's gunna be a Wolf Pack hidden away or perhaps a small population of maybe a big cat etc. I also mention the escaped/released exotic pets & big cats because that DID happen (Simon has done a video about it!) Whilst the arguments for & against some of these big cats surviving & evading capture to start a small population is absolutely up for debate! There was a time when some of these "Beasts" could very well have been an escaped Puma say! Then folklore & Chinese Whispers does its thing!

3:45 I think that might be a thing, it's just REALLY bad for the battery to the point of possibly making it unable to recharge again.

I don't know how that discord notification noise got into the video at 10:19, but it really freaked me out for a second because I didn't even have discord running.

I think the laced Halloween candy has been going around since the early 80's. I remember as a kid hearing about it on the news and mom checking all our candy when we got home.

I agree with Dave. I live in London and I feel my IQ dropped while using the tube in the summer 🔥🤯🔥

After not watching these videos for a while due to life getting in the way, the first thing Simon says is making me go 'things haven't changed then'. Missed the out of context intros!

Lorelei, Dave will be very upset when he sees the meme you represented him with. 😂😂😂 Funny and Dave would enjoy it.

I remember that battery thing was a thing with blackberries, however it didn't unlock any extra power it just disabled the phone from shutting down properly when it thought the battery was low, so you could make a call to emergency services but your phone would realistically die in a matter of minutes.
