So the chip has about 700,000 SNPs on it. However, when I lined the two kits up, just over 400,000 were the same SNPs, the rest were different SNP entirely. So for instance, Ancestry tested Andy at position A,B,C,E,F,H,J,K,M but they tested Phil at position B,C,D,F,G,H,I,K,L

Great experiment. Surprising that there is a 20% difference in SNPs tested, I wonder if they just gave you some extra ones to add to your super all in one GEDMATCH kit :)

Hey crazies:) I have a snag in familysearch . (helping a little friend) who is connected to the wrong grandma. She calls up grandma and asks why there is no enteries beyond her. Grandma promptly goes to my little friends house and pulled up her account which is filled back through 7 generations +. Turns out - Grand daughter is (how i don't know) linked with an incorrect profile name. There no duplicates listed to merge - and could be that why because wrong grandma's profile is spelled wrong. How can my little friend (the grand daughter) disconnect from wrong grandma in order to link with correct grandma! I can't seems to find that answer ! Thank you! ~Newly called family history consultant (eek!!!)

The definitely don't do it for parents. I didn't even know my father took one and was very surprised for the first few seconds. My results took about 2.5 weeks. Obviously, the identical DNA combined with the surnames being different is what caused them to flag it. If the name was Phil Lee they might not have flagged it.
