Some cultures are so accustomed to criminal behavior that they just laugh it off and don't care. That is why you see certain areas in the country where crimes are unbelievably high. An interesting question is raised about injuries. Obviously this guy is guilty, but there is a famous interrogation video out there; where an early to mid 20 male is being interrogation after he repeated told the detective he was shot in the face. The detective ignored this, telling the suspect he is fine. The detective had the suspect repeat his story 3 or 4 times; and every time he told the detective he was shot in the face by intruders. Finally about an hour in, the detective calls for medical, because the suspect was in fact one of the 3 victims. The other two victims where dead, and sadly the "suspect" sustain server brain that eventual lead to him passing away 10 years later. If someone needs medical attention, you get them medical attention. You might not even have the right person.

Exactly. The police don’t determine innocence or guilt. Everyone has a right to a trial and you are assumed innocent until found guilty. He lost a whole eye and could’ve been innocent the whole time. This is why people say the police are corrupt.

Let me lay it out- Freddy is a close friend and colleague, You’ve gotten to know him as a good bud over the past 10 years. He’s a funny light hearted good man with good morals and cares deeply for his friends and family. You’ve met his wife and kids multiple times, as he’s invited you over to his house and out on dinners. You’ve spent countless nights with him at the pub, good times and bad, sharing your heart and problems and having him be a the rock of a friend that you need in trying times. He’s lent you money when you desperately needed it for your mothers surgery, allowed you to repay him over a long time that was comfortable for you with 0 interest. He’s covered multiple shifts for you when you asked that girl out on a date, or you just couldn’t miss a friends wedding and didn’t have any holidays left to book. You’ve done the same for him. One day your on patrol with him Persuing a man involved in an alleged shooting. You pull up to what seems to be his car abandoned on a side road. You and Freddy cautiously step out of your patrol car to approach the abandoned vehicle. You hear several loud bangs and turn to see Freddy on the ground. 3 shots to the body and one to the head, he died immediately. You take cover and call for backup, by then the shooter is long gone. Freddie is gone too. Bieng his patrol partner it’s down to you to tell his family. That night you knock on the door of his house, his wife answers. “Hey so good to see you!” She says with a smile on her face, “Where’s Freddie… what’s up?” She continues. Her initial smile slowly turning into cautious anticipation. Your silent. Unable to make any words leave your mouth. The look in your eyes tells her everything she needs to know. Her rock, her provider, the father of her kids and the man she loves is gone. Your best friend, the man that’s been there for you for over a decade is gone. All over a selfish child murdering scum with no regard for anyone but himself. I hope after reading this you can wake up from your dilusion, and Understand that when situations like this happen, the abuse the cops give to the cop killers is not only understandable, but completely deserved. In fact they deserve much worse, and that these cops are in fact NOT as you say ‘a different race or something’ but are human. Bieng human is the very thing that made these cops beat the heck out of this scum and torture his hands with the cuffs. Just honestly think, your personal best friend. Have that person in your mind right now. What would you like to/do to me, if I went over to him whilst he was shopping on an ordinary day at Walmart, pulled out a gun and shot him dead where he stood, for no reason but selfishness. Your inhuman if your answer isn’t at the very least beat the ever living heck out of me and torture me. In fact these cops WOULD BE a “different race” as you put it, if they DIDNT torture this man. @@-a866 please do not seek a law enforcement career. Their jobs are NOT to mete out punishment or justice like this and often it creates a worse situation than necessary. @@-a866 bc without it, no one gets justice. Police can create issues in court cases by doing these things where a perpetrator walks free. They cost taxpayers untold amounts of money AND puts the public in danger. Cops do not serve justice, the people do, and ALL citizens get that right, without that the US has no justice

100% the police acted outside the law in beating him when they made the arrest, but I really can't think of anywhere else they wouldn't have just killed him, and this is bodycams working. Conveniently the batteries die when the cops throw someone an illegal beating. I think this guy deserves a lot worse than he got, but that's just my opinion. I see they have him on suicide watch with the green smock that he was wearing in court, maybe he will do everyone a favor.

honestly it feels like they didn't even need to interrogate him. there were witnesses who saw the events occur and in several states all you need is 3 witnesses of a violent crime in order to get the death penalty. they only hurt their case against Markeith by violating his rights this way. they could have sat back, said nothing, and had him put away for life.

It's also how innocent ppl win lawsuits against police departments. I can personally attest to that. A lot of cops think they're the judge and jury and are in love with their power and authority. And some of them look to embarrass you before they even have the facts.

While I agree that the police were very unprofessional and could have handled the whole thing a lot better, this guy has well and truly shown himself to be a monster and he deserved all he got. He can't treat people like that and then complain when he gets treated like that.

It's not the police's job to get emotionally invested and beat up the suspect, that's what court is for. Look, I doubt I'd be able to keep my composure when confronted by someone as awful as this guy, but that's why I wouldn't become a police officer. We should expect officers NOT to give into these urges to beat someone up and treat them like shit if they deem them unworthy of neutral treatment. He didn't "deserve" any of what the police did to him, they aren't the ones to dole out justice.
