Ramstein Air Show was horrific. Friends of my parents lost their lives there and parents from a friend of mine were there and survived. The despair and helplessness of the people, people trying to save burning people, the screams, the mixed thick smell of burned skin and kerosene, the heat, the panic. The most close you can get to feel what hell is like. They told me that even 34 years after the event took place they still feel like it was yesterday when they jumped off the gravediggers shovel. Seeing this gives me the chills for all the lives tragically lost so suddenly. It also reminds me of what could have happened to my friend and me. A co-worker (in his 50's) that we flew with in a small plane on Mother's Day in 1982 had a MAJOR heart attack at our work yard and died just 21 months later in February of 1984. If that had happened when we were flying, then all three of us would have died in a fiery crash like this. Forty years later, that flight still haunts my friend and me.

1:50 that took place in Afghanistan, the reason was that armored vehicles weren't strapped with enough straps which caused the plane to lose balance and inevitably crash. Edit: it's obviously not the weight difference that caused the aircraft to lose balance. The last armored vehicle in the cargo rolled back to the area that houses the hydraulics and made the aircraft very hard to impossible to control.

@deprofundis32932 жыл бұрын
I'm actually amazed more people didn't die, if the one I'm looking up is correct...only 11 fatalities, including the pilot, right? I mean it's still awful, but I expected worse, given that it hit the stands. In contrast, that first one with the sad music and multiple angles - the Iviv Ukraine crash - I wasn't sure if anyone actually died based on the video, until I looked it up. Yikes - 77 ground fatalities. :(

I’ve seen individual videos of many of these crashes before, somehow the emotional impact is even greater when shown as a compilation. R.I.P. all poor souls whose lives were so tragically cut short.

the saddest thing is that these crashes are practically impossible to survive, so many lives lost due to technicalities 💔

5:51 was a hijacking, they wanted to fly to Australia and they thought they had enough fuel, from a magazine, but the pilots kept it close to the mainland/island and was able to glide and ditch on the water.

@travisscott9057 Жыл бұрын
@@joshuawoodard6998 Yeah it would be terrible for the families but the hard reality about life is the fact that everyone has a expiration. At least with a plane crash your death would likely be very fast without any suffering. Compared to other deaths that have a lot pain like Cancer and being murdered this would be fast and painless. There is heartbreak with any death whether you die young or old. I would be sad if my loved one passed away in a terrible crash like this, but at the same time I would find some comfort knowing that their death was instant and they didn't suffer.
@OldFart510 ай бұрын
@@evette8558 not necessarily, planes can enter loong steep dives or constantly dive upwards before stalling and diving nose-down to gain lift and pitch up again in a repeated cycle as if it's a rollercoaster, I bet the sound of the jet engines going full throttle as this happens must sound spine-chilling, oof. In terms of physical pain though, you've got a point

Bro. 1:35 is the scariest to watch. The other planes crashed but a lot of them looked natural as the crashed. They kinda just glided into the ground, whereas this one you can see the plane flying erratically which would be crazy to witness

Ejection seats are designed and tested at the lowest altitudes possible. Watch the old steam car on rails ejection seat test videos from the 50s and 60s. THAT is why they shoot you so high away from the plane.
