The fanboy interpretation of this shit is hilarious. Thorin had the same expression the entire show, probably just chillin and letting the League analysts analyze the game while he asks questions. They answered the question too, broke down which picks/playstyles might be beneficial for DRX to find success vs T1. Thorin is probably just allowing space and listening to the analysis of 2 people who have a large amount of experience on the LCK broadcast and doing analysis for the region/game. Weird to just think he is quietly malding on his own show 😂 Seems like you just don't like Wolf or Monte and are projecting, clown take from a person with a clown profile picture, at least you're consistent.

No fucking way Monte and Wolf thought a Crown-build was the play in game 3, like they have Sejuani Trundle Azir Ezreal Karma, if he goes Crown they just dont have any damage at all and a midgame spiking champ like Ezreal cant carry the brunt of damage in the lategame, they would literally just get steamrolled not to mention they were against Varus so Crown could very easily be sniped off if Deft fishes for it.

Some of the angles on GenG vs DRX early on make no sense. Someone claims we shouldnt be hyped for the final because DRX only won because GenG played bad ... oh sure, but we should have been hyped if the team that played bad made it to the final, because they looked good in a different meta months ago and we could be fed some months old narratives that are completely irrelevant now. Narrative this, narrative that, they didnt even look that good in Groups or vs Damwon, where Damwon arguably could have beaten them already. And their group was literally the weakest group at Worlds, with 100T, Flying Oysters and RNG, who they couldnt even beat 2 times (T1 3-0ed them). This just feels like some people are mega salty that GenG and Chovy didnt make it to finals, because it destroyed their narratives, something they even talk about. Wolf looks completely dejected. If GenG played against T1 like they did here at worlds for the most part theyd get shit on regardless and we would get a boring 3-0 finals. We need to accept that the GenG hypetrain didnt deliver in the slightest. They deserved to lose, they were horrible after 1.5 games in the series vs DRX. JDG looked way better than they did in their semis loss, because T1 played extremely strong against them actually.

I lost all faith in Gen.g after the DK series. I think Peanut just isn't a world class jungler anymore. And Chovy is such a defeatist player. Only looks good when he's winning. Doran has just been serviceable all year. Ruler and Lehends were the only players who deserves to be in the finals.

I dont have anything against any of the guys, I usually enjoy Wolfs casting in LCK aswell, but watching their stream during the GenG vs DRX series on Montes channel it definately felt weird how you could see and feel their excitement and happyness drain away when GenG started to falter and DRX started to pull ahead. Both teams are from the LCK, so this shouldnt be an issue. They are open about a certain T1 bias as fans at least, though they are often harder on T1 because of it. Not sure if some of them have a soft spot for GenG. I really did not see anything from GenG at Worlds that would give me confidence, that the final would be better with them in it. All of that comes from the regular season, but they themselves even say that the meta is different now. GenG isnt the first team that doesnt bring its form over to Worlds, thats not a huge drama. DRX making finals is much more hype as a storyline and if it ends up being a 3-0 stomp, so be it. I doubt it would have been different otherwise.

Every LPL team that’s won world had a Korean import as the main carry. FPX - DoinB, EDG - Scout and Viper, IG - TheShy and Rookie. LCK is the best region

Well, Doinb wasn't the main carry in FPX though. It is weird, because FPX didn't really had a distinguished carry player but if you could make the argument for one, it was Tian not Doinb. Plus, I don't think you could count Doinb and TheShy as LCK imports, because they basically started their career (and developed) in the LPL.

A comment to add on the number of champions problem, from a game design persp what alot of games do is adopt the rotation method to phase out by chronological order, champions in this case, but usually cards (As it's mostly card games with too many pieces to learn) out of the game to reduce the amount of overload, as well as addressing potential power creep as well. They can even recycle champs as a result of this into new champions or as "brand new reworks".

The problem with this, is that league has no physical cards for people to own. If I own Annie on my account, I want to play Annie. They would need to upend the business model for league totally to make it "feel" fair, and if it doesn't, people will just stop playing when their chmap rotates out.

Crazy how nobody remembers MAD in 2020, they didn't even have the excuse of losing to another major region team... Also I seem to remember NA never once failing to escape playins in 12 years. Even that 2019 Clutch team. (Huni, Lira, Damonte, Cody Sun, Vulcan) Also claiming EG is the best NA team is just completely disingenuous, C9 absolutely claps them just as hard, not their fault they had T1 and EDG in their group. 100T is still better than MAD at every position, so I'm not worried. I watched every single game of LCK summer and zeka was quite good in laning and had some occasional pop off moments. People were just sleeping on him because the other 3 midlaner coming were big names like Faker, Chovy, Showmaker, and he was the 4th best midlaner from Korea. They won't know everything in T1's bag but they'll know some, unless they were just getting hard smashed and then it could be a quick 3-0. But they should have some ideas. Their mismatched drafts and their change of identity with Peanut on carries and Doran being given 0 support to protect an already winning bot lane was most of the issue for me. Thorin hating on outsiders stories feels like the usual contrarian mindset to be fair, and it seems a bit out of place in this scenario. Yes, I actually do care about Beryl potentially being the 1st Damwon member to become a two times champ, as he's already made history being the 1st non-skt player to ever reach 3 worlds finals in a row (4th player overall). On top of the classic Deft storyline, you also have the fact that maybe the old "2nd coming of Faker" snuck under our nose and it was actually Zeka who had the potential (or perhaps the meta shift will tell us) all along. There are multiple narratives that you could pull out with DRX, even if it's less impactful than with GenG of course

For seeds, its supposed to give the "better teams / best from a region", an easier time in groups. Chovy had to go more glass cannon because the damage on Gen G's side was extremely limited. Crown would also be a bad purchase especially because of Renata, Varus and Ornn, who can all pop it from long range prior to engaging or starting a fight. Bit too biased episode for me in comparison to the others. In specific the part about DRX vs Gen. I agree that they weren't expected to do so well this worlds, but the players clearly had it in them, in hindsight. For me this part of the episode feels to much like GenG won for DRX, instead of DRX managing to make a miracle happen, and playing in a pretty fucking astonishing way. The focus for me there lies to heavy on what WAS, and not what IS. Or you could say the immediate factors that determine the outcome of a match are a bit overlooked. Like daily form, psychological factors changing in the tournament and a series, especially for the overperforming underdogs. Little to much focus on past results, past metas, expectations and narratives. Also Thorins take that its a joke that Flyquest had a branding for saving/helping the environment, just because their business field has to do with computers is absolute nonsense and really destructive in my opinion. That would be like, for example saying you cant criticise unfair trade with the 3rd and 2nd world, just because you buy stuff from the supermarket, like any other being in more developed countries, which is sold there because of exploitation. Just because you are part of a system (especially something huge like a system being dependent on electronics), or having chosen a profession which has it's downsides, doesn't mean you can't or shouldn't criticise it, or stand for something which doesn't synergise well with said system, you have been born in, and have a hard time escaping from. Even if fucking oil companies would be making statements about saving the evironnment, i would be, even if they are cynical, welcoming those statements, because it makes people more aware that there is a problem, one of the biggest, if not the biggest we ever had as mankind. Of course that wouldn't solve the underlying problem, but it also wouldn't make it worse... Always better to do something, than nothing. The other parts of the episode were much more to my liking.
