Right. I loved having sex with my late husband, but due to medical problems (refer to the "late" signifier, meaning he was terminally ill) our sex life for the last 3 yrs or so before he passed was pretty much non existent (maybe 10 times total in those 3 years) but our relationship was based on more than just physical affection, so I never once felt that anything was lacking. If you need sex to have a good relationship, there is something seriously wrong. Sex is important, but it should never be the end all be all.

It’s very useful to understand how the process works and it may help to ease your nerves around those kinds of tests, as we’ll all have to have some sort of check-up involving our intimate areas anyway. Without going into too much detail, the first time I ever went to get tested, I was completely alone and unfortunately didn’t have the nicest nurses present. I can guarantee that if I had gone with a partner, not only would I have felt less scared, but that could’ve gone a way to strengthening the relationship as well.
