Actually the rules state you can’t use Poly if your deck has ways of fusion summoning it’s self . Considering despia field spell , branded in red and the trap card all fusion summon Sam was not allowed to use Poly . Poly is only acceptable if you have a fusion deck and your deck does not have any way of summoning those fusion monsters .

I loooove this series, and I think it's way more interesting when the playing field is even like in this video. Sam has such an incredible depth of knowledge for these higher tier decks that it ends up being his biggest advantage. I wish Seereax had the time to really familiarize himself with the decks, so there was more back and forth instead of him losing because he isn't as knowledgeable about operating his archetype. I'm also curious, and maybe this was already answered, but how were the decks graded for the wheel? Is it based on the community full power decks or on the stripped-down archetype versions that they are actually playing?

So after going through the rules, Sam is right about the Spell Card Worm Bait that SeeReax played. But I did find another rule that was interesting. "If your deck has a Toon monster you cannot play toon support such as toon terror. The exceptions to this is Polymerization in the case your deck has a fusion monster but no archetypal fusion effect" Polymerization can be used when the archetype has no archetypal fusion effects. But wait, the Despia Field Spell has a fusion effect, and so does Branded In Red the Quickplay Spell, and the Trap Branded Banishment, and let's not forget the Effect Monster Blazing Cartesia. Also, I feel like for balancing issues cards like the Virus Trap Cards and the Duality Spell Card are kinda busted to just have even if your archetype can support using them. Virus Traps have effects that can disrupt your opponent similar to other cards that are locked behind the Staple Wheel they spin after a loss, though I understand why it's not in the Staple Wheel because not all archetypes are gonna have Dark monsters so it would be dead in the water when you got something against it's requirements. We'd be having a different conversation if for instance the Virus Trap he had used was Deck Devastation Virus cause that would have completely killed Krawlers given the majority of them have less than 1500 ATK. And a Quickplay card that allows you to Special Summon a Fusion Monster by paying its cost is kinda broken when it can be used to close a game during the Battle Phase to give you an extra attack, but again it would be a poor card for the Staple Wheel cause you need Light or Dark monsters. Also, this is just a me thing but I never considered Blazing Cartesia as a Despia card. I know Granguignol needs her as one of the fusion materials and he lists Despia in his effect but otherwise, I consider her more of an Albaz card since she mentions Fallen of Albaz in her effect, but I digress since Albaz and Despia kinda go hand in hand with their effects supporting one another.

I do agree with the Despia cards and Ploymerization not being needed to fusion in the deck. Sam tries to find ways around his own rules which is dumb but worm bait should've been fine because you need a insect on the field to use the card. It can't even be a stable card because with no insect on the field you can't use the spell and it becomes a dead card. Sam makes these rules but he doesn't know what ever card do. Mostly he tries to make the rules benifit himself.

"The ONLY spell/traps allowed are archetypal ones and ones that support the types/attributes included within your archetype." "If your deck contains Dark Monsters, you can play cards like Allure Of Darkness since it directly supports Dark Monsters" "You cannot play cards like Trade-In because your deck contains Level 8 Monsters" I know there is a risk/reward to playing Allure if you don't have a Dark monster in hand, but having Allure but not allowing Trade-In is really weird given I would argue Allure is easier and stronger to activate and use since the cost only comes after the cards are drawn, especially in Despia thanks to Tragedy's effect working when sent to either GY or Banished.

Funny how Seereax playing literal insect support is cheating but Sam is playing 1. Poly for fusion 2. Allure for dark monster 3. EEV for dark 2.5k monsters 4. Few branded cards because they mention despia. For the 4th point I vaguely remember Sam claimed Seereax cheated for playing a monster from different archtype that mentioned cards from the archtype Seereax got for his wheel just like how branded cards mention despia. token summoning spells/traps have never been allowed, this was established early on in the series. only in-archetype token summoning cards are allowed, like in the trickstar episode 1. poly has always been allowed for fusion decks AFAIK, and in other similar series they also have the same rule 2. non-archetypal attribute/type support like allure has always been allowed unless it summons a token, seereax has used the spirit charmer trap (spiritual wind art) in his majespecter deck for example because it mentions WIND 3. EEV seems iffy to me, but i suppose if seereax could play spiritual wind art then EEV is also allowed? 4. if the cards mention despia anywhere, then they are despia support plain and simple. branded and despia have a lot of overlap with their spells/traps because of lore reasons to your point, i dunno but sam will often jokingly say seereax can't do something but seereax usually just ignores him now because he does it so often

They even fought before about playing staples but now suddenly it's fair because Sam is playing them? To counter your charmer argument, Sam literally filled half of his deck with firefist cards whenever he got beast warrior. Even though they are from different archtype, they are indeed beast warrior support so it's fair. Allure and EEV are generic dark staples and Sam even played light and dark chaos cards. Sam himself said if your deck is only one attribute you can play support for the attribute which Seereax did with magispectre. But despia is a dark fairy and light fiend deck. And Sam played both dark and light support. Tldr: Sam made vague rules on purpose and bends them whenever he needs to. Some of the rules are just BS and make no sense.

He lost badly anyway! EEV and Allure are not listed on the staple wheel for this series, so I dunno how you can say they're staples. Here are a couple of rules from the site itself that you might want to familiarize yourself with. One in fact directly mentions Allure of Darkness "The ONLY spell/traps allowed are archetypal ones and ONES THAT SUPPORT THE TYPES/ATTRIBUTES INCLUDED WITHIN YOUR ARCHETYPE. Example: *Speedroid Dupligate can be played in any WIND deck, despite having Speedroid in the name because it is GENERIC WIND SUPPORT. *If your deck contains DARK Monsters, you CAN play cards like ALLURE OF DARKNESS since it directly supports DARK Monsters. *You cannot play cards like Trade-In because your deck contains Level 8 Monsters." Nowhere does it say just because you're playing multiple types or archetypes that you can't use external support for both, in fact it speaks of them in plural terms implying that you can. It also does not impose a limit on them, so Sam putting "half his deck" with Fire Fist Spells/Traps is not against the rules either. It might make it predictable like "oh Sam is just putting all these cards in again" but it's not against the rules. Here's the rule that explains why non-archeypal Token generating spells/traps can't be played "Spells/Traps that summon NON-ARCHETYPAL MONSTERS of your type/attribute CANNOT be played, that means no Shade Brigandine in Warrior Decks or One Time Passcode in Cyberse decks." So both Sam and SeeReax broke the rules once in this match, so I say let them both off the hook. If SeeReax actually had issues, he'd bring it up.

Sam's rules state that "Only in archetype spells or spells that support the type/attributes of your monsters" can be played, Fusion is a card frame type, not a monster type. The various official Yu-Gi-Oh video games point this out by having an inbuilt search system for extra deck cards which is search by card frames, your options are: normal, effect, spell, trap, Fusion, synchro,xyz and link when using such features. Polymerization should only be usable under Sam's rules if using an elemental hero deck as Elemental Heroes blazeman and woodsman specifically mention it in their effect texts. I mean no ill will I'm just trying to clarify wording and statements used during the course of the video for anyone who may not understand the issues raised by Sam and Seereax.

Btw I'm against that rule since it makes some decks on specific tier more busted than others. It should just be only 3 rules 1. Pure archetype 2. Pure element support 3. Pure type support that is not part of another pure archetype deck. For example you can't play fire formation spells if you have a beast warrior deck unless it is under the fire formation archetype. That way cheating would be more controlled, duels would be more creative and fun. (Not saying this series is not fun or creative it just sometimes is not fair in the rules for both, lower tiers Sam had really bad decks because of lack of support and now seereax has gotten really bad decks because of lack of support. If you take the universal support out it balances things).

It actually is, although not because of the “no tokens” rule that Sam made up. If it summoned Krawler tokens, it would be viable. Sam using poly though was indeed cheating since you can only play poly if your deck doesn’t have any other fusion cards. Despia has 3. Theater, Red, and Aluber.

@@alphastronghold715I feel worm bait is not cheating though, it’s a generic insect type support spell card. The rules itself on the wheel page even gave this example: Speedroid dupligate can be played in any wind deck, despite having speedroid in the name because it is generic wind support

@@ericlaw1993 Token generators have their own separate rule however. TLDR: you can’t play token generators unless they’re of your specific archetype.

So, I know I'm incredibly late, but if you are allowed to play poly for a deck archetype that already had a dedicated fusion spell/trap, then you should definitly be allowed to play book of moon for a flip archetype, maybe limit it to 2 or 1 considering the offensive applications, or the card reax was talking about that flips all monsters

Hell yeah! Krawler is one of my favorite decks as well. It's a shame he couldn't play other flip support cards, there's a Junk continuous trap (I can't remember the name right now) that can flip tons of monsters at once, which is insane on this deck when paired with world legacy pawns.
