When it comes to Tudor, the watch that first comes to mind is undoubtedly the dense Black Bay collection of heritage-inspired dive watches. However, in Tudor's entry-level position, there is another intriguing, dressier option that follows Tudor's former history with third-party movements - the Tudor 1926. In this video, we'll take a detailed look at my favorite watch from one of Tudor's least talked-about collections.

Agree with this Teddy. Went to my AD this week to look at the Tudor GMT and ended up walking out with the 1926 in 41mm on the brown strap. It's just a really simple watch with everything I need - auto, sapphire, screw down crown, the strap has rubber on the inside. Rotating it with my more expensive watch and it's perfect for me as it's the polar opposite of my sports watch.

I have the 39mm white/opaline dial 1926. Mine is a few years old now so it has the top grade ETA movement in it. It’s a very thin and comfy watch to wear. Wears and looks larger thanks to the white dial and thin bezel. It’s all dial. One of my favorite pieces. Super versatile. Screw down crown, 100m of water resistance, and an outstanding and comfortable bracelet should you choose to use it. It looks more casual in person than in photos. Works with shorts or a suit. Understated and then those blue hands and indices hit the light and POW!

Awesome to see some love for this watch. I bought the 39mm exact same opaline and blue model two years ago. Pretty positive it came with an ETA 2824 back then. It's not the most expensive watch in my collection, but I love it and I've got some great memories with - it was on my wrist the first time I held my son :)

As a person not a fan of diver watches, the 1926 from Tudor is a watch that I would add to my small collection in a heart beat. Nicely done and sleek watch, and I really like how the bracelet sets it all off. The Opaline dial serves the watch justice with the blue Arabic and index numerals. If I had the money to spend on a watch right now, I would jump on this right now.

Late to the party, but I love this one. The one you showed off is my favorite size and dial combination. It's not a beater, but also not trying to make a large statement. It's one I can wear in a wide variety of situations and with individuals from various backgrounds without feeling out of place.

@@ImranKhan-xk6mr my wrist is slightly over 7 inches and it wears amazing. It works well as a dress watch despite it being 39mm because it’s so thin. It just melts on your wrist. I’ve discovered that piece quite recently, but I love it: this is gonna be my next dress watch. You have multiple options here and I will go for a 1926 two tones in 36 mm. This old-school textured dial with gold accent will definitely dress up compare to the BB36 classic Explorer like design. And now it’s also available on leather strap! 😎 The only negative you could point at would be the movement. Not a problem for me as Tudor is regulating their watches quite good.

If you can't afford a few thousand for a watch you shouldn't be collecting watches. You should be educating yourself, improving your skills, working hard, and networking until your income is over 200K. Then consider collecting luxury items.

Great video as always, Teddy. My first Tudor was the BB Chronograph, which is amazing. But then I wanted something a little more "everyday" and absolutely LOVE this watch, having bought the exact model you've reviewed here. Feel on the wrist is sublime, legibility and beauty in the dial outstanding, with attention to detail and quality punching well above its weight. If I had a gripe it's the relatively brief power reserve of 38 hours- even 55 hours would have been nice, but at this price, with the money saved a person could go buy a quality watch winder and not feel they'd spent too much. It is truly phenomenal that Tudor has created their entry level at this price point with this much watch!

In fact I’ve fallen in love with the Tudor brand all together and currently considering the Glamour date date. Thanks for the video: great representation of the characteristics. Would be great to see how the 39mm variants do since Rolex discontinued the 39mm OP: in theory, this is the replacement related to size and performance.

Also have the 39mm white dial. Looks and wears like a super thin 40-41mm watch. It’s all dial.

Hey Teddy, could you do a look at the Tudor Glamour Date too? I feel like that is also a very overlooked watch.

I'm trying to decide between this Tudor in 39mm, or the Rado Coupole 41mm. Both white dials with blue hands..

I like it a lot, but the lack of official alternative straps is disappointing as it would look nice on a black or blue leather strap too, as well as the official brown

I like this watch and I do think it is under appreciated as it represents great value on the Tudor line. I tried on the exact model you feature in your video. It wears very nicely on the wrist but is a bit on the plain side in person. I decided to pass on the 1926 but I’m most likely going to buy a BB58 soon. I do like what Tudor is doing these days.

Nice video....I actually got the 28 mm with the opaline dial and blue hands for my girlfriend a year ago for her birthday. She loves it... although she's really hard to find a watch for because her wrists are soooo small. Had to end up getting a hand made leather band . But I still love this watch.

The IWC Portuguese ! But thankfully potentially smaller ! For loads less cash ! Win win ! I think the 39 or 36 would be more your size. And mine, 19cm. Doesn't the BB also have many variations, or very similar models (pelagos)...

I looked at the 1926 on the tudor website but everyone of them came on a brown leather strap....now I love brown but I don't want it on a steel watch....do they offer other colors

Thanks for the insight on this watch. Would love to see it with Roman numerals sort of like the Sinn 1746 klassik. Not a huge fan of the Rotor Self-winding info on dial ether.

Another overlooked Tudor watch line is the Glamour. Great watch for its value, similar to the 1926 but aesthetically better. Great choice for the "Go anywhere, do anything" type watch. #IMO . Great video Teddy, hope you can review the Glamour as well.

There's a whole bunch of people, which i am part of, who just do not want to spend 5k on a watch. I must have spent 4-5k in total for a collection of watches. I would do this any day over spending it all on a Rolex. Poeple with reasonable expectations will without a doubt deem this Tudor good enough. It's just like with computers. I don't spend 2k on a pro-gamer laptop because I'm not a pro-game. I'd be setting money on fire. So instead I spend that 1k on a middle-class product, which is easily complex enough and with good performance, which is a much wiser purchase. This product you're showing is exactly that.

I like this watch more than the black bay but i am not a huge fan of large bezels and dive watches... I wish you would have paired this watch with some different straps to see its versatility... other than that... thanks for video and bringing light to this beautiful watch.
