Great vid! The 2500d is the first 3-level coaxial escapement, which evolved to the modern coaxials. The 2500c was the last and arguably only reliable 2-level coaxial.

Bond wore two watches in Casino Royale, the PO and the iconic blue SMP 300. The PO he wears during the first part of the movie is the 45.5mm black version on a rubber strap. It is not clear which of those two he is wearing during his first encounter with Versper Lynd on the train. Given that he is wearing a suit it should be the SMP but as we know his taste at this early stage in being a 00 agent is not that refined. So I would not be surprised if he still had the PO with the rubber strap on his wrist. I personally prefer the smaller version of the three hand PO in black and on a steel bracelet since it enhances its versatility. You can wear it with casual attire as well as with a suit. 1st gen. PO chronograph is a whole different story. The big case suits this much better as well as the orange bezel. Even I would not combine this with a suit but for casual attire, especially during summer this is my go to choice.

Small correction: The sapphire crystal has outside (and inside) AR coating applied, which is obviously prone to scratching.

Good video, thanks. I'm thinking about buying a first gen - if the dot in the triangle (at the 12 position on the bezel) is touching the bottom of the triangle, is that cause for concern? The watch I'm looking at has all the original papers but it is the only one where the dot is not in the center of the triangle. Also, do you know the first year the 2500D came out? Research says to look at the date window - numbers 1 and 4. A pointy 4 is a D and a flat top 4 is a C. Thanks again! Great watch.
