Siebert outdoors jigs! He makes them here in Missouri, hand wire tied, and a MASSIVE color selection in every jig variety. I like the brush head jigs with the owner deep throat hook for cover, but I mostly just throw his improved arkie head. You can find a bunch of Shad colors in any jig style you want. Oh, also they’re cheap. And an added bonus is he has a line of jigs in every variety that includes rubber in the skirt (the “mata” jigs I think”). Makes a huge profile compared to the silicone only, great for bluegill imitations I feel. I know dirty jigs is your deal, just giving respect where it’s due. Siebert is the only reason I don’t throw dirty jigs.

Hey Matt, that bluegill flash and Japanese bluegill mimic juvenile bluegill. If the bass are feeding on young bluegill those colors will be effective. When it comes to jigs the JDM companies seem to produce more baitfish colors. They can be pricey that's why I make many of my own skirts.

Then haul the giant females for hours, weigh in, Release. Must take a huge toll on the fish ? Would you be willing to explain ? MLF rules are perfect for us as well as the fish or am I all wrong ? Your cost of tour fishing is a hit it out the park ! So well spoken Thank again Matt !!!!

When the rivers have good current in the summer I love to flip a 4" tube in white/ silver sparkle on the grass banks. I believe the erratic fall of the tube in the current gives a great flash. Plus that tube slides through the grass so easily. Also...smallies in current absolutely love a purple or blue craw with white claws. Again the flashing of the white is the trigger. Great topic and info EDIT...back in the day my favorite ring worm color was blk/white. I probably have a 1000 of them. I am throwing those this year! Thanks for the reminder

Even on Wisconsin perch/bluegill lakes most things including frogs have a white belly. So it makes sense on those non-shad lakes as well. Personally I love a finesse flipping jig with a white Berkley Chigger Bug. Bass of both species smash it. I would also love to see more white skirt with gold blade combinations in things. I have found a few but don't see it that often. That is another combo that gets 'em up north here. Probably because of perch. Totally agree on white. It is a universal forage color.

I think white/silver/gray is almost always a contrast color when flipping in clear water with bluebird skies and it is certainly worth a try but for me when you are what many call “tight lining”(Throwing a jig around tied with a “ loop” knot which allows you to present your smaller baitfish looking soft baits to the bass in a more horizontal fashion) is extremely deadly in white for suspended bass around shad. Especially in cold clear water(55 degrees or less). I also enjoy white when throwing Zara spook topwater baits. Thanks again for another video that made me 🤔 think.
